I always find visiting The Forge at events dangerous, and I usually end up buying whatever their latest release is 🙂 This time I resisted though, and will just show off their gift bodysuit and matching garter belt.
The bodysuit and belt are separate items. Both are sizes for Lara X, Ebody, Ebody Waifu, Legacy, and Legacy Perky.
The detailing on this is amazing, all the lace is actually done with mesh instead of a texture. While this looks fantastic, and an outfit like this deserves to be looked at close up, the distance where the server decides to show a lower level of detail (causing the lace to basically collapse) is only a few meters, which is a shame. If I wear this to a lingerie event, at least my dance partner will appreciate it 🙂
Speaking of birthdays, the Fifty Linden Friday group is also celebrating their birthday with an event. It runs until September 8th, and there are dozens and dozens of FREE gifts from the creators, yours for the asking by wearing the FREE FLF group tag.
I went through all the gifts and these are the two standout outfits. There’s also lots of jewelry, home deco, and other things! You should check it out!
This first outfit is from The Forge. I’ve written before about how I get into trouble and buy stuff when I see their displays. This time I resisted, and just picked up the gift 🙂
The top and bottoms are separates and both are sized for Lara, eBody, and Legacy. This would make a great base for a sci fi outfit I think.
The second outfit is nearly too yellow for my hair, but I wanted to show it to you because of the nice texturing detail. Its top and dress are also separates, and both pieces are sized to fit Lara, Lara Petite, Legacy, and Legacy Perky.
Alika is a new offering from The Forge, and I fell in love with it right away. I’ve paired it with the jacket from ….. Alika’s bare arms are definitely sexy, but I like the more utilitarian look with the jacket. Okay, yes, before you say anything, I know that the cutouts at the flanks and groin are … probably not the most utilitarian. What can I say? I believe in a sexy utilitarian aesthetic! I’m really happy that The Forge is supporting the Maitreya Petite add-on in addition to Lara and Legacy and Legacy Perky. A&Y’s Thrasher jacket is Lara and Legacy only, no petite, but since it’s open, it doesn’t really matter — it works great here.
I really love wearing exotic skins, and I completely love to put together outfits that make the best use of them. Here I’m wearing Psy Astrolight (cerulean)from Fallen Gods. I really love blues and purples, and it just seemed to work perfectly with the “oil” texture on Alika. Again, I’m featuring the Dext hair from A&Y and the beautiful Celestial face tatto from .::Nefekalum::... Does reusing elements get old? Perhaps, but I really love this hair, and the face tattoo makes a wonderful statement.
That’s it for me from the Cyber Faire. I feel like I got away easy… but I am so grateful to my friends for my rez-day spree. Mahalo nui to you both!
There’s still time for you to go throw all your lindens at the Cyber Faire — it closes on March 24th, so hurry hurry!
I mentioned that I had found some wonderful goodies at the CYBER Faire (open from March 4 to March 24, 2021). I have to share another with you. The Atomy bodysuit from A&Y Bunker CyberShop is a sexy sleek little number. I really love the combination of covered shoulders/arms… and a high french-cut at the legs. There’s just something really appealing to me about that combination! Atomy is available in a number of base colours for the Maitreya and Legacy bodies, and has a HUD to change detail colours and glow levels. There’s also a fatpack available.
The bodysuit looks great in high boots or completely bare legs. I tried with some little ankle boots from GRAVES, but the outfit felt too unbalanced. I finally found this wonderful set of leggings from A&Y. If you know me, you know I like bare feet, so this really just kinda felt perfect — giving some pleasant balance to the bodysuit, but without the thigh-high boots (that I personally am not so fond of wearing, even though I think that they look great). The Electra legwarmers don’t have glow elements like bodysuit does, but they otherwise seem to match and complement the bodysuit quite well.
Her skin is one of my favourites — Expanding Universe (Chaos)from Fallen Gods. This is the perfect kind of outfit to show it off, and you can see that I’ve added some specular shinies from Stargazer and the beautiful Celestial face tattoo from .::Nefekalum::.., which I featured previously.
Completing our look is the Synchronicity helmet from .:Bison:. in purple and the Vyper Katanafrom The Forge. I really love the look of the Synchronicity helmet de-rezzed/retracted here.
I hope you get the chance to get out and enjoy the Faire. It closes soon, so if you haven’t been, please visit! I’ll have one more outfit to show you next time!
I showed you one of the gifts at the Winter Shop and Hop event from The Forge the other day. The Forge is being very generous, and there are two gifts available! Here’s the second one.
This is all one piece and is sized to fit Lara and Legacy. An excellent leather pattern is highlighted by the use of materials, making for a very glossy leather outfit!
Here’s another FREE gift from The Forge available at the Winter Shop and Hop event. Usually when I see this creator’s displays at events, I end up buying something hehe. I avoided it this time.
The top and shorts are sized for Lara and Legacy only.
Last weekend, Monthly Midnight Madness was on. This is a once a month event, offering some fantastic gifts to members of the FREE group. There are two “events”, one at midnight SLT, and one the following midday, and each creator offers two pieces, one available at each time. But there’s more! These are limited editions, so you have to be one of the first 1500 people to hit the boards after midnight and midday to get them (although there are last chance boards where you can pick up the piece if the limited are exhausted, for L$50 each).
This fabulous bodysuit was one of the midnight items, and the detailing and use of materials is just out of this world. It’s called “Oil Lace” and the materials make it shimmer like rainbow oil on water. The Forge is a place I generally stay away from, because I tend to walk in there and want to buy the entire store, all their pieces are so well done 🙂 But I’ll certainly grab one for free via MMM!
While I was gift gathering at the Winter Shop & Hop (on until the 13th of January), I was stopped in my tracks by this awesome leather and lace creation by The Forge.
Leather and lace events are fairly common in SL, and it’s always nice to have something totally eye-catching, and this outfit is certainly that! The strap and buckle detailing is excellent.
It’s only sized for Lara, and there are a number of other colors available at the event, for L$210 each.
The Sisters of Eden recently had a cyberpunk-themed party (DJd by our very own Jaz) and I had a lot of fun putting together an outfit that I really wanted to share with you. This really was a fun outfit, as I assembled it from a variety of bits and pieces!
Xtra Ordinary — Dragonsuit Top applier and collar from Sith Lady costume (Maitreya/Physique/Hourglass/Freya/Isis/Venus fitmesh, Omega/Maitreya appliers)
Xtra Ordinary — Coat from Underworld Deathdealer full costume (Maitreya/Physique/Hourglass/Freya/Isis/Venus fitmesh, Omega/Maitreya appliers)
Xtra Ordinary — Combat belt from Black Widow full costume (Maitreya/Physique/Hourglass/Freya/Isis/Venus fitmesh, Omega/Maitreya appliers)
I didn’t want to go all Tron-glowy, but cyberpunk does require some supporting gadgets! I found just the right things at :::Sole:::. I’m wearing two separate pieces here, the Luna headset and the Shinkan glasses. Both have huds for texture and glow, and both are unrigged mesh – so they’re resizable!
The boots were a tricky find — I wanted something that buckled and looked meant for action — not silly oversexed high-heel boots. But I also needed something that could accommodate the mesh leggings without having surface conflicts (‘peek-through’). Graves’ Combat Boots are just right — with male and female versions so it’s not just a genderless muck boot.
Sometimes one needs to look outside the box to get an interesting look. As my followers know, I am fond of mixing and matching components: a top from here, a thong from over there… and soon you have a new, and unique, look that isn’t just bought off the store rack or MP listing.
In this brief entry today let me show you one such outfit. As is often the case for me the spark was one outfit, or more specifically parts of an outfit. Here it was Moon Dancer from May’s Soul, a gacha seller of fun and cute products. I bought most of the parts of Moon Dancer last year but it took some time to see how best to use it, as it was not fit mesh or Maitreya-sized though it can be resized. So I put on my thinking cap.
The Moon Dancer parts I had were a thong, wrist bracelets with little wings, and little shoulder wings. I knew I had a set of blue and white big wings to match, from Ramp’s Rosemary outfit. So I started pulling in more parts: a feather collar from The Forge, along with their Valkryie feathered headpiece. I wasn’t happy with the feathered boots I was finding, so I used another set of those same Valkyrie wings and adapted to my fave Gothic Lolita boots from Candy Kitten. Finally to tie it all together I tossed in the Baika outfit I highlighted last week, from r2 Fashion.
The result is a winged and feathered outfit that is now more than just what each of the parts were. So with a little creative thinking, you can extend the possibilities already in your inventory.
