Gypsy enchantments

I got to wander around the latest round of Enchantment: The Iron Throne over the past weekend, and while the theme is Game of Thrones, I found the most wonderful separates that just cried out “boho/gypsy chic” to me.  A little mix-and-match and you’ve got a look that is perfect for role play… or for every day.  Well, every day for me, anyway!

I don’t know about you, but I find that working with separates can definitely be more challenging — I tend to forget what separates I have in my wardrobe, and finding pieces that go together can be very hit-or-miss.  But it’s very exciting when it does, and creates a look that is very unique to the individual.

City Lights

Hey, Whit?  If you’re out there, I still think of you every time I post a video to go with a post.  🙂  Some appropriate music, courtesy of Annie Lennox:

Gazing out above the city streets, the glitter of lights…. a different kind of beauty than the shining stars on a moonless night.  A million lights, out there unseen a million lives, a million stories, each one shining bright in its own way.  A million sequins sparkling in the velvet black, bright in a neon glow.

Aloha kākou, my friends.  You may know how much I like the amazing textures that Ally Adventure creates for their fashions.  Demetra is a two-piece top-and-skirt outfit that is available in two different textures, a lighter glitter sequins with gold accents and a darker glitter sequins version with silvery accents.  I opted for the light/gold one.

Demetra is available in fitmesh for all of the major mesh bodies plus five standard rigged mesh sizes.  Ally Adventure appears to no longer have an in-world store, but is still actively producing new clothing and can be found on Marketplace with demos for all their items.  You should definitely pick up the free demo to see how it fits on you — and which texture you prefer.  I’ve been so happy that they’ve been producing fitmesh for the mesh bodies now!

Also a side note, I combined Leela and Squeeze hairstyles from Analog Dog here.  Both are independently wonderful styles, but pairing them gave a huge curly mess that… just felt right.

The real magic of Ally Adventure are the remarkable materials-enabled textures.  The sparkles just have to be seen to be believed.  To my knowledge, every clothing item Ally sells comes with a set of face/body lights that are designed to enhance the sparkle without being too annoying to those around you.

No matter what your view of the world is, stop a moment… bask in the life around you, the shining lights — starlights, city lights, blinking lights — and enjoy the view.

Mahalo nui, my friends!  A hui hou kākou!

Réalta

Kerryth at Spyralle has a wonderful treat.  Réalta was originally offered for the Team Diabetes Winter Showcase, which has now passed by, but it’s now available for purchase in the Spyralle main store!

Réalta comes in the standard five rigged mesh sizes, plus fitmesh for the standard body and for Physique and Hourglass bodies only.  That said, I had no problem using the standard fitmesh on my Lara with the appropriate use of alpha zones.  I LOVE this gown!  Long mesh gowns are always a chore to dance in, but this one is still such a happiness!

Kerryth has five beautiful textures for Réalta.  I loved them so much I couldn’t pick just one to blog, but you’ll have to wait until next week to see the others!  Stop by Spyralle, and look back here next week to see the other textures!

A flair for the batik

I’m a sucker for beautiful batiks, and I found this lovely one from Applique Chic  as I was going through my inventory this week.  The Island Tropic dress is from the Beached Bunny Hunt 7, which is sadly now over.  Hopefully Applique Chic will return it to the shop!

Island Tropic is HUD-driven with six lovely textures, and comes in the standard five rigged mesh sizes, plus fitmesh for all three Belleza bodies, both SLink, both Tonic, Maitreya, TMP, Ocacin, and Ebody.  Wow!

Happy Aloha Friday, all my lovely friends!
