Wickedly Enchanting

Is anything so full of Enchantment as the gowns created by Bee and Solas for Silvan Moon Designs?  The fabulous duo brings you Lady Gothel for the May 2017 Rapunzel-themed Enchantment event.

Lady Gothel comes in five colours named (more-or-less) after the deadly sins.  My favourite colours aren’t hard to spot.  I like strong colours, and greens and blues and purples most of all.

I’ve always been an opaque-gemstone kind of girl.  Opal and lapis lazuli may be my favourites.  I’ve had this lovely lapis set from Evelock for ages, but you would think that Evelock and Silvan Moon worked together to create a matched set.

For those of you who may not know, Mother Gothel, the namesake of this gown, was the “evil witch” who kept Rapunzel locked away in her tower from Tangled, the Disney adaptation of the faerie tale.  She’s an interesting character, but I  prefer the representation from Into the Woods, the faerie tale play from Steven Sondheim.  Something about the depth of the Witch, her fear of loss — her actions become understandable, perhaps even forgiveable.

But I digress.

Wicked or not, let Silvan Moon Designs cast their spell over you… stop by Enchantment before this fleeting dream slips away.

Catch my drift

A late evening in the city and unable to sleep… so I slip on a short yukata, and feeling very daring, slip through the neon-sparkling night for a little bit of a late-night snack…

Eclectic Stars has a very nerdy/geeky chic, but this is just a stunning little yukata and obi.  I keep tugging at the bottom edge a bit… but am also a bit flushed at the excitement of it.  It does show off my legs.  🙂

  • GLITTER — Back Pose (Pose Lover event gift)

I’d shown off EarthStones‘ Flight of Fancy necklace before.  I went back and picked up the long version… and found that layering the long and the short gave a lovely looped appearance.

Give Jadziya at Eclectic Stars a little love — stop by and see what she has for you.  Mahalo!  A hui hou!

Wild orchids

Here’s a lovely little gown at a price that can’t be beat — Wild Orchid from Dressed by Lexi!  It comes in three lovely colours and is perfect for a summer evening dance!

Wild Orchid has a lovely jewelry set, but is lacking a necklace… which is a happy spot for an engraved heart pendant given to me from my lovely Blue.  <3

Wild Orchid is in my favourite style of gowns: it makes good use of flexi prims, which are the best to dance in.  One of these days a smart gown maker will start creating mesh tops with flexi-prim gowns, and save the Omega applier layers for the (hidden) glitch layers.  But until then, I’ll gladly take an applier top so that I can get a gown that dances well and has that light gauzy feel!

Dressed by Lexi has some lovely wonderful dancing gowns for some incredibly good prices.  Visit today, and go out and dance!

Dark skies and darker looks

One of my favourite DJs in Eden has started hosting a new montly (or so) Goth event, “Cravin’ the Raven”, and I put together a great new outfit for the occasion.  I assembled this from some wonderful creators to create a look that really suits a dangerous mood.

Have fun experimenting out there…. just… take a friend or two along with you.  This place looks a bit on the creepy side….

Laissez les bons temps rouler!

For Whit.  🙂

Wow, what a night last night!  You might be thinking about ashes today, but I’m still basking in the revelry of Fat Tuesday.  Dressed by Lexi offered this the lovely Risque gown in a five-part 10L hunt.

Each hunt item included part of Risque — gown, jewelry, heels — as well as a string of Mardi Gras beads!  There are two additional hunt items that feature the gown and jewelry in red as well.  Wow!

Now, in case you’re interested, the purchased version of the Risque jewelry includes a colour-change hud.  It fits so nicely with this gown, and others as well!  The regular reader will note that I often use Dressed by Lexi jewelry sets with other clothing items.

Where did my beads go?  I threw them to Blue, of course!

Daughter of the sea

All life comes from the Sea.

  • Spyralle — Waverider Green Flash tattoo, fins, drape and crown
  • Luminesse — Sea Turtle Green Agate necklace & earrings
  • Exposeur Props and Poses — February Gift 15-6M pose (Marketplace Link)

When Kerryth at Spyralle came out with Waverider in mesh fins and Omega appliers (or standard SL layers) I thought WOW!  All it needs is a tail to be a perfect mermaid.  I’ve been on the hunt for a tail to a) complement it, and b) work with a mesh body ever since.

.:!EVolved creatures!:. came to the rescue, with a Bento enabled tail.   This tail waves so very smoothly, it is a joy to swim!

EVolved creatures has really put together a remarkable tail even without Bento.  MErmaid tail #1 features an amazing HUD that allows you to adjust glow, transparency, and alpha of the fins, belt, and scales.  There’s a skin blender at the waist, and an amazing selection of scale patterns.  I’ve shown a lightning-y one above — it’s my favourite as I think it complements Kerryth’s Waverider patterns (lightning is awfully fractal in nature, you know).  I thought I’d show you a few other options as well, though.

You can’t see the full crown so well with Calico‘s Talia hair, but it features a band across the forehead with fins from the side, and the same fractal motif as the body tattoo.  Luminesse‘s green agate Sea Turtle jewelry completes the ensemble.

I’ll admit, I took WAY too many pics of this, but I have so totally fallen in love with this outfit, both with and without the tail.  There are a host of pictures on flickr, and I’ll post more over the next few days.

Please go try out EVolved creatures‘s tail, there’s a 1L demo.  It doesn’t feature the HUD, but you can see how well it fits and how well it moves.  One quick note — the Bento tail can misbehave a bit on mermaid dances and animations (although it does fine on poses).  This is a Bento issue, and Tithis at EVolved is aware of it and working on the problem.  There will be a free update when it’s solved!

From this wahine hiʻu iʻa to all of you, aloha kakou!  Mahalo! A hui hou!

Soft and warm

I don’t know about you, but Advent leaves me with a mess of an inventory that I slowly work my way through!  Baby Monkey had a delightful suite of gifts for Advent 2016, including the lovely Raffaela sweater dress and boots.

You’ve seen me with .wound‘s ribbon choker before — it’s one of my favourite pieces.  It comes in three different HUD-driven palettes — vibrant, dark (shown) and a neutrals.  Each one comes with unscripted and RLV versions.  Unfortunately, while the RLV version works, it’s an older RLV script and is not updateable.   Nevertheless, this is the best ribbon I’ve found!

  • K&SDance 5 pose

The high suede boots have a lovely little shroud at the heel.  Maybe not practical in the snowy slush… but oooo so cute!

Take a look on flickr for a few more images, including my favourites.  If you’re not a member of Baby Monkey you should definitely free up a group slot.  Over the past few years I have loved watching Pixie’s creations keep getting better and better!

A ranger for a silvan moon

A silvan moon?  Is that like a Forest moon?  or a little nod to the passing of Gene Cernan?   Certainly the Ranger probes didn’t land among the trees.

No, it’s a desperate attempt to come up with a clever title to share Silvan Moon Designs‘s beautiful Ranger of Islavare.

Daisy Wreath from Caverna Obscura is an old favourite, but the Family Tree of Life pendant is a lovely new item from Earthstones.  It features a choice of metal options, plus three gems that are independently selectable from the “standard” set of birthstone colours.

Ranger of Islavare is featured in five different colours — four of which are shown here.  Shadow (shown at the top) is a lovely black theme, and below you can see Hunter (sagey green), Brooke (dark blue), and Rune (aqua).  There’s also Secret, a beautiful dark red (not shown).

Ranger features the dress, leggings, cloak and matching boots (not shown here).  Dress and leggings are available in the five standard rigged sizes plus standard, Slink Physique and Maitreya fitmeshes.  There are also standard layer and Slink, Belleza, and Maitreya appliers for the leggings to help you work better with legging/boot conflicts.

Silvan Moon Designs keeps coming out with amazing work.  Stop by and give them some love!

A Glass of Burgundy

Carrie’s Lingerie has brought us a lovely gown and lingerie set, the lovely Brea.  As a gown, Brea features a lovely flexi skirt to complement the Omega applier / SL layer body and stockings (and gloves).

Brea_c013

The lingerie features the same body/torso as the gown, save without the transparent panel.    Brea is a beautiful gown, and reminds me of Carrie’s older Holiday Sparkles gown.  (Oooh, an applier re-release of that would be wonderful, Carrie!)

Mahalo, and a hui hou!

A New Moon

A few days ago, I had the pleasure to share with you a lovely collaboration between Solas at Blue Moon Enterprises and Bee Dumpling at The White Armory, two of my favourite period and fantasy designers.

Solas and Bee have forged this new collaborative effort into Silvan Moon Designs, featuring mesh clothing made by Solas and textured by Bee.  The first release under the Silvan Moon label is Calista Rain, a beautiful mesh wedding gown featuring rigged and unrigged mesh belt versions, and flexi cape and empire skirt that flow beautifully.

CalistaRain_c017

Solas’ skill with mesh can hardly be overstated — those aren’t applier gloves, they’re fitted mesh!  And Bee’s exquisite texturing brings it to life!

As I was getting this blog post together, I received word that Bee and Solas are releasing Calista Rain in a variety of colours!  I’ll have to post a few more pics later.

The Silvan Moon offerings are currently available at both Blue Moon Enterprises and The White Armory Shops, as well as a small Silvan Moon Designs shop.  Come and take a look!
