Beautiful Maui, the Valley Isle.  Also, beautiful Maui, newly updated from Dressed by Lexi!  I’ve had the Maui in ‘Ocean’, a beautiful blue and green batik design since it first came out, but it was released  shortly before Lexi started releasing clothing in Omega appliers.

Maui_c035Maui comes in standard appliers with two different length flexi-prim skirts — a short one making a nice breezy dress perfect for the casual affair (dancing!), and an ankle-length one for an elegant evening gown.  The Omega appliers are sold separately, so those of us who have already purchased Maui can upgrade for a pittance.

And if you haven’t purchased Maui yet?  Lexi has place the entire line (all six colour/textures) on sale for the next week as part of Fifty5 Thursday!  I had to pick up the purple Ginger.

Dressed by Lexi also has a lovely companion jewelry set featuring necklace, earrings, and armlets.  Four different metals and eight jewels are HUD-selectable.  The haku lei — the plumeria head wreath – is from Island Style Designs.

Okay, so.. I’m a bit of a sucker for a nice teddy.  Is it the high cut at the hip?  The lace?  Whatever it is, Carrie’s Lingerie‘s Ashley is plenty enticing.

Ashley is available in Omega appliers as well as standard SL layers.  Stockings, gloves, and teddy are all independently selectable.  I particularly love the backseamed stockings — I’ll be adding these to some black and gold dresses as well.

Like Shelly, Ashley was available only at the Fashion for Life event, so I’m just being a tease.

I’ve long had an uneasy relationship with St. Patrick’s day.  If you want to know why, you can take a look here.  But it’s always a great day to celebrate Éirinn, so I just had to share Celtic Beauty with you, a lovely gown with a flexiprim skirt, mesh earrings and crown, and an optional cape.   Dressed by Lexi keeps adding Slink and Omega appliers to outfits, and the result is something to raise a glass of Guinness over!

The Celtic knot detailing is just amazing, on the top, cape, and hem, and the golden ivy crown is the perfect complement.

Lovestruck Juliet

Well, that’s not how Mark Knopfler wrote it – or sang it – maybe… but why should Romeo get all the gold stars for his efforts?  Well, maybe we won’t get into looking at the sexes in Shakespeare too closely.  I suspect that not-a-few doctoral theses have been written on that topic!

But we should take a look at this latest group gift from Blue Moon Enterprises.  Lady Juliet is a lovely mesh gown in fitmesh for the standard SL avatar, Maitreya, and Slink!

I need to point out the lovely filigree choker from Strength & Charm that Blue gave me for my rez-day.  This is such a delicate little bronze-gold beauty, with three glittering emeralds.  It is perfect for this gown!  Mahalo, dear heart!   And a note of sincerest thanks to Aries Oh at S&C — her customer service is the best.

Lost in the mist

This week’s group gift from The White Armoury is the lovely Mists of Arador.  It’s a lovely all-mesh gown in separate top  and skirt pieces, with optional puffy sleeves, as well as matching bracelets and a brooch at the waist.

In this day and age, I always test first against my Slink Physique mesh body. That is how I feel that I look my best!  I have no problem with the standard SL body, although I’m loathe to use SL hands or feet.

Arador was not specifically designed for mesh body: it features the standard five mesh sizes plus a SL fitmesh size.  I find that the XS fits the Physique body best, while the SL avatar works well with the XXS.

As with many similar meshes, I have problems with the straps on mesh tops/gowns at my shoulders: they sink beneath the skin on the Physique, and are too thin to use alpha zones.  I haven’t shown that here (the rear view shown below is with the standard SL avatar body), but long hair easily hides the glitch.

It really is a fine gown, and a lovely addition to my wardobe.  Mahalo to The White Armory for such a fine gift!
