Fantasy Flair

Sometimes you find outfits that are simply gorgeous but are not necessarily practical to wear out and about. Such is the case with my two offerings here from Moon Amore, the Midnight Illusion Cinderella gown and the Angelic Souls gothic lolita outfit. Both feature stunning designs that appear to float on the wind, making for some stunning pictures. Alas, as they are static mesh pieces, they also do not actually float and thus bounce around as you stand with your AO on or when walking. But they look pretty! And thus I had to take some pictures with them for you. 🙂

The Midnight Illusion gown comes in five colors, in a single mesh size, so one needs to play around a bit to make sure it will fit. I was able to successfully fit it to my Maitreya body. And of course I am waiting here for my true love to cross the bridge to me…

  • Dress: Midnight Illusion Gown by Moon Amore
  • Gloves: Long Bento Gloves by L’Emporio in 30 colors
  • Jewelry: Leah earrings and Betsy necklace by Avaway,  Magic necklace by Swallow
  • Hair: Mayumi3 by D!va
  • Pose: The Bella Series – Three by An Lar

The Angelic Souls outfit looks just the thing for the damsel dashing through the magic forest! Available in two colors (white and black) for Maitreya.

  • Dress: Angelic Souls by Moon Amore
  • Boots: Candy Lolita by Candy Kitten
  • Earrings: Lollipop Guild by Violet Voltaire  (Marketplace link)
  • Hair: Haruka by Argrace (sadly no longer available, as Argrace has retired nearly all of their hair)
  • Pose: Sexy 06 by Aeon Animations  (Marketplace link)

Ready for a little fantasy in your day my friends? Cheers!

Mix and Match 3

Sometimes inspiration strikes from any old place. I was out and about furniture shopping and came across a sign in the store with a picture of a dress I really thought was pretty. I IM’d the store owner to ask what is was and she kindly told me. It was called The Bridal Gown from Dead Dollz, and what particularly appealed to me was the lace overdress. So I bought the dress and took that part and start building around it.

As being all lace it was already see through, and rather revealing at the top, I add a set of flower modesty covers for top and bottom, also from Dead Dollz, which matched the lace overdress pattern nicely. To this I added a set of flexi sleeves from one of my favorite gowns, the Bianca from FlowerDreams.

  • Pose: The Finnley Series – Four by An Lar

Rounding it out was a pair of nice lace applier gloves and of course my favorite boots, the Gothic Lolita’s from Candy Kitten.

So let your inspiration soar – be inspired by something in your inventory and start mixing it up with other bits and pieces and see what you can create! Cheers!

Captured in the Net

I came across this lovely net top at the Liaison Collaborative event, and just squeaked it in to the blog – the event is only through the 26th so don’t wait on this one!

I am not generally a fan of the off-the-shoulder look but this one, Aly by Baiastice, just seemed to work really well to me. It comes in 12 colors, with and without the bra, plus a fat pack with four additional colors and the ability to mix and match the bra colors.

Pose: GP Emma 8 by An Lar

The see through of the net is really nicely done and gives this top a fun summery look.

Summer Breeze – 04 by Stardust

And of course… the bra is optional… if you’re feeling a little daring with that net look…

Is it cold in here or is it just me? 😉 Cheers!

Lady About Town

I found a neat little outfit at FaMESHed, the Irina Coat Ensemble from Valentina E.  It comes as a single mesh outfit of blazer, turtleneck, and slacks and cuts a trim city-girl look.

Irina comes in four colors (only the single color for the slacks), and includes a five-color HUD for the turtleneck.

  • Outfit: Bridget Coat Dress from Valentina E., available at FaMESHed  (through Sept. 27th so don’t dawdle!)
  • Sunglasses: Maddison V.2 by Redgrave (Marketplace link)
  • Jewelry: Celtic Knot Necklace by LightStar, and BoHo Ring Collection by Kate
  • Hair: Livia and Bewkie by Truth Hair
  • Poses: GP Emma 1 & 7 by An Lar

Meet me for lunch downtown? Cheers!

A Blue Jeans Sort of Day

Blueberry is one of my fave clothing makers – the quality and fit are really some of the best in Second Life. Recently they released a new pair of jeans that not only look good but are nicely versatile too, featuring both flare and skinny jeans versions.

The jeans feature a string detail in front and the fabric has richly detailed creases and folds.

The flare jeans feature a tall hip hugger style, with two versions, one for high feet and one for flat feet with your toes peeking out.

The jeans are for Maitreya Lara, and come as a fat pack with 29 single colors, as well as various pattern options and ombre colors. It also includes two sets of options with the belt or without.

The skinny version features a lower cut over the tummy, and string detailing at the back of the ankles.

Snuggle into some jeans with me? Cheers!

Mix and Match Sci Fi Edition

By now my followers know I love mixing and matching things up. Today let me show you another one where I have gone totally to town, and in fact maxed out my attachment points in the process 🙂

The base bits (body applier and gloves) come from Xtra Ordinary’s Sith Lady Outfit V2, for Maitreya Lara. On top of this I added (and added and added) more things. Most of them are components from Sole, who make some amazing hi tech looking gear. In my photos I have a rotating rainbow swirl light attached to me, and this makes the materials in Sole’s products just shimmer. I also have a variety of smaller attachment items from a couple of outfits by Grave (always a good source for sci fi gear).

The boots are Foxy from Blueberry, who while certainly not the first name that come to mind for sci fi outfits, has some wonderful shiny materials on these boots that are just right.

Here’s a close up and you can see the absolutely wicked detailing on the Sole Mask, as well as the Holocle Visor from PsiNanna. And that hair!  Medusa Cyber Hair comes from A&Y and includes various tubes making it perfect for all your cybernetic needs. The tube types can also be colored independently.

  • Outfit components: Dragon Gloves and Dragonsuit applier from Sith Lady Outfit V2 by Xtra Ordinary (XO); Armtech Mk2, Backpack Mk 2, CLT Gadget, Mask 7M, and Regulator by Sole (Marketplace only); Holocle Visor by PsiNanna (Marketplace Link); Disc, Arm Cuffs, Belly Buckles, Chest Buckles from G369 Gravity and Pocket Belt from G566 Widow by Graves
  • Hair: Medusa Cyber Hair by A&Y
  • Boots: Foxy by Blueberry
  • Poses:  Candy pose 2 by K&S; crossed hands 1 and female-09Fby Lumipro

Have I hooked you yet on the fun that can be had with mixing and matching? Cheers!

R2! (No not the Star Wars robot)

Here we mean R2 Fashion, a clothier with a unique style all their own. R2 specializes in sci fi outfits with a definite sexy bent to them and often with a great deal of, shall we say, “transparency”…

R2’s clothes feature slick metallic textures and curve hugging designs. For the Kagura outfit, I added sleeves from Caverna Obscura’s Wistera Wind outfit.

A bonus with Kagura is this adorable electro-bunny light up tail that gently pulses.

The Kachou outfit swirls around the breasts and adds discreet detailing to cover the important bits. As with all of R2’s ensembles, one buys the individual components, usually consisting of at least separate boots, panties, and tops, and the occasional additional parts such as modesty covers.

  • Outfit: Kachou by R2 Fashion
  • Hair: Tanya 1 by Calico
  • Ears: Angelica Headdress by Ayashi (gacha item)
  • Pose: The Lily Series – Four by an lar

In the Baika outfit we can see the almost plastic look that R2 achieves, making full use of material rendering.

And finally, in the Seiga outfit, we see more of the sharply defined futuristic lines combined with some elegant curving sleeves, and the teasing transparency at which R2 excels.

The number of colors for each outfit varies, but is generally anywhere from five to eight colors. Fat packs are also available which may include exclusive colors as well. All of the outfits are for Maitreya Lara only.

While R2 has their own store as linked above, they are also a regular contributor at the Collabor88 event, where the components of the outfits are generally available at a lesser price than when in the normal store inventory.

Time to suit up my sweet friends! Cheers!

Moody Blooms

Today I want to show you a pretty Asian-style dress called Moody Blooms, from fashionably dead. It dips in front with a wickedly low cut, matched by an equally high cut up one leg.

The textures on the dress are simply gorgerous (13 in all), and better yet each color has three pattern options too. There is no fat pack so each color must be purchased separately.

Moody Blooms is available for all major mesh bodies. In these photos I’ve paired the dress with the MoodyBlossom boots from Pure Poison, which match the dress colors perfectly. These boots are dual purpose, as in addition to the solid boot design shown here, they also have options to be worn as see thru lace with the flower patterns. The boots include a 10 color HUD.

  • Moody Blooms Dress by fashionably dead
  • MoodyBlossom Boots by Pure Poison
  • Jewelry: Antique Necklace by The Looking Glass (gacha item)
  • Hair: Misaki by Argrace
  • Pose: The Kallisto Series – Five by an lar

Until next time my sweet friends! Cheers!

Mix and Match with Meli

A long time Second Life staple is Meli Imako, a purveyor of full perm clothing items. Most often their products are used as the base for other creators to produce ensemble outfits, adding and changing textures. While that is still their strong suit, recently Meli has been including some pretty decent textures in some of the models as well, allowing them to be used as-is for those so inclined. A very good example of the latter is the Vixen dress, a wonderfully frilly confection:

Vixen is available in five mesh sizes as well as Fit Mesh for all the major mesh bodies, with the hat available separately. Note the Meli Imako does not have an in-world store so all of their products can be found on the Marketplace.

Another good outfit right out of the box is the High Seas Pirate Corset, which is equally at home as a Gothic style Lolita dress. Here is an example of the dress with one of the three included textures, the black:

To add to the atmosphere on this one, I mixed in a chiffon dress held aloft by ravens, from The Dark Swamp. The Meli corset dress is available in five Fitmesh Sizes plus fits for all major mesh bodies and three included textures. And true to the premise that Meli supplies meshes for other creators to adapt, I know that this dress is available in pre-made sets from at least two other vendors: Sn@ocks in five separate colors; and Adris King Designer in an eleven-color HUD. Both use the same basic pattern that comes with the texture set with a few modifications.

Now just because other vendors mod these items doesn’t mean you can’t as well. Here is the same dress with colors I changed using Photoshop and uploading the texture back into Second Life, this time on the happy side of the Disney aisle as Snow White. I added some mesh bows, one for the front and one in my hair, and found nice boots and stockings to go with.

And finally, to show that sometimes just a little bit of modification can give you just what you are looking for, here is the Women’s Cravat Blouse and Corset skirt. I wanted a librarian sort of outfit but one with a little sexy appeal; so I was able to adjust the transparency on the top and add a lacy bra underneath. The outfit is available in five mesh model sizes (not Fit Mesh).

Ready to do a little custom modifications, my sweet friends? Cheers!

A Bit of Boho

It’s still summer, still time to be a bit Bohemian and casual… and here are three outfits designed to do just that.

For a light and casual feel one can try out the Rhapsody top and skirt combo available from ArisArisB&W, which comes in six colors of pretty floral patterns with a HUD. The top features cute tassel trim along the hem of the top. Fits are provided for all major mesh bodies.

  • Top and Skirt: Rhapsody by ArisArisB&W
  • Jewerlry: Leah earrings and Georgia armlets by AvaWay; Peace Love and Harmony Bracelets by Earthstones
  • Hair: Hadeya and Lamar by Catwa
  • Pose: The Elena Series – Two by an lar

For a little darker, somewhat rich velvety look, good choices are items from Oubliette, including the Burnout Velvet Kimono top and Brujah Maxi skirt.

The top is available in five individual colors and includes an optional shirt in six colors. The skirt is available in six individual colors. There are also fat packs for both pieces, and fits for all the major mesh bodies are included.

Mixing and matching things is always something I love to do, and here is a fun example of that. The main parts of the ensemble are from the Arwen gacha set from Giz Seorn, available at the current Epiphany event. It consists of a lovely blouse, a bikini bottom (each available in thirteen colors, plus three rare colors for the top), and a gypsy belt and a gypsy necklace, each available in three colors. The outfit is Maitreya only, and while the components are available on Marketplace from resellers, those rare tops with the pretty patterns run some hefty Lindens. So if you are fond of gachas you may want to run over to Epiphany while you can and try your luck! I matched the Arwen set with flexi skirts from Caverna Obscura’s Starlight outfit, which while quite beautiful as it’s own outfit, made the perfect compliment to the Arwen gypsy look.

  • Top, Bikini, Belt, and Necklace: Arwen by Giz Seorn (gacha item at Epiphany)
  • Skirt: Starlight – Midnight by Caverna Obscura
  • Jewelry: Gypsy necklace and earrings by Earthstones; Boho ring collection by *KATE*
  • Hair: Haku by Argrace
  • Pose: shepherdess 3 by Axix

Come light a little incense with me, and I shall tell your fortune from the cards, my sweet friends! Cheers!
