Lady of the Highlands

Oh my, I am terribly embarrassed.  I had taken photos for a post on a lovely tartan gown from Silvan Moon Designs, and somehow in some research-related travels had not gotten the post written — and then had forgotten about the photos.  So let me share Lady Broch Tauroch with you now!  Lady Broch Tauroch is available in three beautiful colours, and only at We Love Roleplay!   Below is Moors, a lovely dark green.ladybrochtuarach_c011

The Highlands pattern features a dark dusty blue tartan.

The fine detail on this gown is amazing.  I’m so very impressed with the pattern on that knit scarf, as well as the lovely pin included.

It’s a beautiful sunset… and the heather palette features the lavender shades of those pretty blossoms

Stop by We Love Roleplay! and take a look  This is a gorgeous gown, and while it’s stunning for roleplay, it’s also just perfect for the cooler weather as we in the northern hemisphere move into winter.

One last spell to cast….

One more witch for this season?

Petite Mort brings us a wonderful little in-store hunt for my final witch of the season: each item in the hunt is part of the Gypsy Witch – hat, skirt, lace shawl, peasant top, and pentacle choker.  Three’s still a little time before All Hallow’s Eve!

The Gypsy Witch features Petite Mort‘s flour sack peasant top, lace shawl, and gypsy skirt.  Each comes in the standard five sizes, plus Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink fitmesh!

Setting the hat aside for a moment, Gypsy Witch makes for a wonderful slightly gothy outfit.  OMG I love Petite Mort‘s fitmesh!

A little bit of a closeup on the choker.  The witch’s hat can oversize a bit without looking out-of-sorts, but a little creative editing of a hairdo can always help, too.  🙂   I don’t usually wear heavy eyeshadow or dark lippy, but it definitely works with this outfit, I think!

  • ProPose —  Group Gift September F1 pose

The worst part, to me, of the end of the Hallowe’en season?  Everyone always expects the costumes to be put away for another year.

Me, I’ll always wear my inner witch… so don’t be surprised if you see me in my pointy hat out-and-about in SL.

Out for the night

It’s the end of the week, let’s go hit the pub and get a few drinks, maybe some darts, maybe some pool.  And when you find the perfect pair of jeans for that night out?VelvetBodysuitJeans_c004

Blueberry does a fantastic job with jeans.  Rica comes in the standard five mesh sizes, plus a variety of fitmesh for a bunch of mesh bodies: Slink (yay!), Maitreya, Venus, Freya, and Isis.
They even come in a ‘normal’ version and a tapered boot cut — all included in the purchase.  There’s also a belt with a colour-changing HUD – or you can just leave the belt off (toggled by the HUD).

So, that feeling when you find the perfect pair of jeans?  Yeah.  I feel pretty good.  🙂  Happy Friday, everyone!

When I heard the learned astronomer….

You know what?  Walt Whitman did a lot of good, but that poem gets it all completely wrong.  Old Walt may have understood a lot… but he clearly didn’t understand the thrill of understanding.

I picked up this lovely outfit as part of the hunt, and love it enough that I had to share it with you!

Let me make a statement here: NO, astrology is not based on science.  But the planetary symbols used here are used by astronomers as well.  I have not seen the constellation symbols used, however.  In any case, I can love the dress — and the detail — without buying into astrological mumbo-jumbo!

The necklace and headband feature planetary symbols — Mercury on the headband, Pluto, Jupiter, Uranus, Saturn, and Mercury on the necklace.Alchemist_c006

A momentary rant?  There is a lovely belt that is included with this outfit, but it suffers one of the problems that I’ve seen multiple times in SL.  The belt is too large for the outfit, and can’t be resized small enough!  now, that’s one thing when you have fitmesh or SL layers or appliers — but when you are using the standard mesh sizes, the creator should be very aware of how small the item needs to be!  Unfortunately, the belt that goes with this was no-mod, so I couldn’t unlink it and properly size it.  🙁   Fortunately, the dress looks good even without the belt.  Please, creators!  Pay attention to your sizes when you’re creating accessories!  Not everyone in SL is an amazon!

Okay, rant-mode off.  🙂   Mahalo, everyone!  A hui hou!
