embers of a raging fire

The Santa Rosa fire caused devastation, taking the homes and properties of so many.  Kerryth at Spyralle turned the tragedy of the destruction of the Coffey Park neighbourhood to art in Ignis, a beautiful gown for the Trick or Treat Lane event, in memory of all the joys that lived there.  You can find it at Trick or Treat Lane, but only for a limited time!

There are three beautiful textures, but Ember matched my fiery curls just right.

All Hallow’s is past, but Trick or Treat Lane goes on until November 3rd.  Don’t miss out on this fiery beauty!

Aloha!  A hui hou!

Death and all her friends

Some music, because Whit taught me.  🙂   Will I lose friends for Coldplay?

I know, it’s already all Hallow’s on the far side of the world, but in Europe and the Americas we’re still in the Eve!  Happy Hallowe’en, my lovely friends!  How about a little gift from G Field today?  The wonderful Roodvosje shared Death Girl in her lovely post last week, and I fell so in love with it that I had to share it with you in my own way!

Black is tough to wear — I had to weave special darke magicks about it to keep the white powder sugar that falls from my donuts from showing against it… but the cloak has such a lovely deep crimson lining and beautiful buckle detail!

A quick note about the hood.  Like hats, hoods are tricky, only moreso.  G Field did a fantastic job in leaving enough hair space around the skull, so I was able to find something.  I love Analog Dog, and Val fit very nicely.  I had to do a little editing on some of the strands on the back of my head — you can edit, and go into “edit linked” mode and shrink those pesky pokers and move them individually.  I did a larger piece on this a year or so ago, it’s tricky work but not bad.  FIRST FIRST FIRST, always make a copy of the hair!  The hair will always look horrid when you take the hood off, so you want to work with a copy!

I’m so totally in love with this dress and cloak that I think I’ll keep it about.. for whenever I need to show my darke side.

Happy Hallowe’en everyone!  Mahalo — a hui hou!

Happy Hallowe’en from Spyralle!

Aloha my lovely friends!  The Gotham Island Event is going on through October 31, and sales go to support the race for a cure to end Parkinson’s disease!  Kerryth and Spyralle bring you the beautiful Justine gown, with the Hallowe’en version just for the event!

The lovely Pentacle Necklace is yours for free, a beautiful gift from Petite Mort and Oubliette at the The Season of the Witch event.  So many wonderful things going on in this exciting season!

If that’s not enough, there’s a 10L hunt for the event, and you can find a witch’s hat and mask to match Justine!  Please please please come to The Gotham Island Event and support the fight against Parkinsons.  We can do this, this is a possible thing!

Aloha!  A hui hou!

Spooktacular

So many fun things to share with you today!  Newness from Silvan Moon Designs, a wonderful event sponsored by Petite Mort and Oubliette, some lovely new earrings from EarthStones, and new poses from //elephante poses//!  Holy buckets!

Let’s start with Union of Souls, a new gown set from Silvan Moon Designs exclusive for The Trunk Show event!  Union comes in three colours in fitmesh for Maitreaya Lara and both SLink bodies.  It has an overskirt and a chest piece with little floaties to wear as suits you!

I had to run out and find some new earrings from EarthStones.  With Love is a lovely set with a texture-change menu!

Petite Mort and Oubliette bring you a lovely little shopping and entertainment event at The Season of the Witch.  My pics were taken on this beautifully landscaped sim, and “the Witch in the Dark” pose set by elephante poses are exclusively available three!

So, take a visit to The Trunk Show, visit The Season of the Witch, and enjoy this spooktacular season!

Kazumi

I just got to take a look at some lovelies from the recent Rock Your Rack event (sadly now over), and I wanted to share some pretties that I picked up.  Spyralle offered the lovely Kazumi jacket and pants outfit in four lovely shades.

I picked up these boots as a group gift at .:Ecce Bellus:..   They’re lovely, and also sold in a light taupe shade for a VERY reasonable price!  I couldn’t resist picking up both.

I’m hoping Kerryth will get Kazumi into the stores soon. In the meantime, stop by and take a look, Spyralle is involved in all kinds of events and hunts right now — don’t miss out!

My namesake

Two lovely friends found the perfect dress for me — Mahina by [AdN] Designs.  It’s a light and fluttery beach dress, a perfect little flirty fashion as you hit the waves.

Mahina features a lovely little colour-texture HUD, but I think I’m in love with the rainbow!

Mahalo nui loa to Frani and Keko for my lovely gift.  You two are so sweet and I’m so happy that you’re part of my life!  And thank you, dear readers, for stopping by to share!

Mahalo!   A hui hou!

Spirit of Hope

One of the things I’m most happy about in Second Life is that we’re not just a game, we’re not just playing about, we do try to make a difference.  Creations for Parkinson’s has organised a major Hallowe’en event to support the Michael J. Fox Foundation’s Team Fox in support of research of Parkinson’s Disease.  100 per cent of all proceeds from the Gotham Island Event will be donated to Team Fox!

Solas and Bee at Silvan Moon Designs are taking part with two wonderful creations.  Spirit of Hope is an all fitmesh gown and overskirt for SLink Physique and Maitreya Lara.  It is beautiful and simple and elegant.

Spirit‘s overskirt features beautiful pale lavender floral accents that complement the lavender skirting on the gown.  Bee has really outdone herself with the texturing here!

Please visit Gotham Island Event and financially support the fight to end Parkinson’s Disease.  Researchers are making progress, but they need the funding to carry out the work!  We can end this debilitating syndrome!

Fallen goddess

The mist hangs close to your skin, a cool shiver runs down your spine that had nothing to do with the cold.  You look around furtively, and there — framed in the glow of the streetlight, regal and shining in silver and black… one who walks as if she owns these streets…

Okay, I confess — I am NOT a fan of hats in SL.  Even when they’re pretty, they…. just don’t work very well.  But then sometimes the perfect outfit just pops into existence for you.  When I found Silvan Moon Designs‘ new exclusive dress for the Fallen Gods Decennial, I knew that Spyralle‘s Breakfast in Vegas would make quite the statement.

The monsters were out, all right… but she was the one to be wary of.

Fae of the Fall

After showing the lovely Queen Frani to you previously, I thought I’d share my own outfit for the Sisters of Eden Autumn Queen Dance.  I’ve blogged the base outfit before, but added a bit to create an angel of autumn?  A fall fae?  Can fae have feathered wings?

So, sometimes you get lucky.  Bare Rose created some beautiful bento wings in their “B-Wings“, sold in black and white colours.  Fortunately, they are mod, so I could change the overlay colour.  Be VERY careful, the wings are NO COPY: do NOT try changing the textureONLY change the overcolour.  I played around a little bit until I found what looked just like gold to me.  The texture-enabled wings turned that gold into something shining with a hint of metallic glint.  Just… wow.

Persefona‘s Floating Leaves come in a number of different distributions.  They’re mesh, not particles, so they don’t contribute to the kinds of rendering issues and lag (and annoyance) that particle generators can.  They do attach to the body, so they move somewhat rigidly about you, but depending on your use they look absolutely wonderful.  They worked well for my dances at the party!

It’s always lovely when a creator puts together an amazing outfit… but I really love that feeling of putting together pieces from here and there to create your own individualised look.
