A light against the darkness

February can be cold and long, but the Medievel Fantasy Faire is a shining light in the winter months, and Scarlet Fey has a beautiful fitmesh gown for Maitreya Lara to keep you warm and bright.

Phoenix Rising from Earthstones was the perfect complement to Elven Aurora‘s detailing.

Scarlet Fey incorporated a surprise in the Elven Aurora gown: the detailing very gently progresses through successive red/orange/yellow shading.  If the animation were quick, it would come across as a cheap gimmick, I think, but it’s slow and subtle and quite lovely.  You really need to stop by the Scarlet Fey booth at MFF to see the demo there to appreciate the effect!

Selenia of Galacia

Solas and Bee at Silvan Moon Designs have created a lovely new gown for you, exclusive at We Love Role Play .  Selenia of Galacia comes in four different icy colours, each just perfect for the Yule Ball!

Selenia has a lovely Icy Pearls accent add-on (available separately) that adds a lovely touch to the gown.  I’m just a little bit disappointed in the pearls, however: while the Selenia gown comes in Maitreya, Physique, Hourglass and Classic fitmesh sizes, the pearls are available only in the five rigged mesh sizes, and as such are un-resizable.  I am wearing the smallest (xs) in the image below, and as you can see, they ‘hover’ a bit outside the fabric of the gown.  That’s not terrible, though, it gives some lovely three-dimensional magic to the outfit, which I actually rather like a lot.

Selenia of Galacia is a lovely gown, and like so much that you will find at We Love Role Playcompletely tempting!

Witch Hazel

Oh just one more little bit of magic before the all Hallow’s, as the fae dance about in the falling turning leaves.  It seemed to be the time of the tunics at We Love Role Play this month.  I showed you one last week, let me show you the other today —  Witch Hazel from Dreaming Thicket!

I really love the little details on Witch Hazel.  The moonphase belt is a beautiful little touch, just the right bit of magic.

This month’s We Love Role Play is just about over.  Stop on by and find Witch Hazel and so many other lovely treasures before November hits!

Time for Elegance

As the holidays approach it is the time for formal gatherings. Here are two very lovely outfits sure to make you the belle of the ball!

Mariposa has mastered the use of glittering materials – their gowns truly shimmer as you walk, in a way that still photos can hardly capture. My favorite of theirs is the Dallas Sparkling Iridescent Zebra Stripe Halter Gown, available in nine colors. In my view the stunner of the batch is this one, the viola color. The dresses include two different body lights you can add that really make the dresses sparkle! Dallas is available for all major mesh bodies.

A word has to be included here for the hair I have on here, Love Song by Magika. Usually when going for formal gowns I stick with updos but here Love Song is just perfect, melding long flowing locks with a classy bun on top.

For something slightly less formal but sensual, Indura has the Venice bodysuit, which has see thru lace in all the right places. It includes unrigged attachments and flexi cuffs, with the body suit an applier in five colors as a fat pack for all major mesh bodies and classic avatars. The individual colors are also available at their in world store.

Ready for some elegant dancing, my dear ones? Cheers!

Vellista Evenstar

Aloha, my friends!  Some lovely little treasures to share with you that I found at We Love Role Play.  I was a bit late getting to the event this month, so we’re a little behind!  Today I’d like to show the Vellista tunic from Senzifine.  It’s a lovely long-sleeved bare-shouldered tunic that can double as a dress.  I paired it with some leggings from Silvan Moon Designs’ Ranger of Islavare outfit, and the result is pretty magical.

This outfit just called out for some of my favourite jewelry — the Lapis necklace and earrings from Evelock and Spyralle‘s Forest Edge mask.

Just as the fae, all things are fleeting.  We’ve got about a week left for this month’s We Love Role Play, and about that much time for one of my favourite pose makers.  an lar [poses] is closing at the end of this month, and all her poses are half-price.  Their easy gentle style has really appealed to me, and I’ll be sorry to see them go.

So, you know — the lesson in everything is to take advantage of what comes your way, for you know not when it will vanish like a sparkled dream.

Daydream Romper

Recently at the Dark Style event I came across a lovely romper and boot combination outfit from Beautiful Dirty Rich. The romper is available in three different fat packs, one with 20 patterns, one with 11 crochet designs, and another with 11 lace designs. The boots are available in a fat pack with 11 solid colors and 20 pattern colors, matching those of the romper.

I love all the various pattern and color options, and it’s always a delight when a vendor creates a set allowing you to color match boots with an outfit!

Both romper and boots are now available at BDR’s main store so you don’t need to go through the event to find them (it’s a great event but quite laggy!).

It may be getting a little bit chilly for such a short style, but hey it is always warm in SL! Cheers!

Twilight Dreams

Aloha, my friends, I hope that you are having a wonderful Monday!  Normally I don’t like to split up different textures of the same clothing item into different days — it kind of feels like cheating — but I had to do a follow-up post on Spyralle‘s Sybil.  The very day after I published my previous post on Sybil, Kerryth introduced one additional texture that I just had to have — the lovely Twilight.

Kerryth’s textures are always lovely, but I really love the glyphs on this one more than anything — I see a Moon and stars and dancers.  Could there be anything more me?

I’ve paired this with the beautiful The Moon and Stars for you necklace and earrings from Maxi Gossamer — just to match the lovely glyphs.

My friends, Spoonful of Sugar will be over before you know it.  Stop by, find some lovely things, and help out MSF.

Fantasy Flair

Sometimes you find outfits that are simply gorgeous but are not necessarily practical to wear out and about. Such is the case with my two offerings here from Moon Amore, the Midnight Illusion Cinderella gown and the Angelic Souls gothic lolita outfit. Both feature stunning designs that appear to float on the wind, making for some stunning pictures. Alas, as they are static mesh pieces, they also do not actually float and thus bounce around as you stand with your AO on or when walking. But they look pretty! And thus I had to take some pictures with them for you. 🙂

The Midnight Illusion gown comes in five colors, in a single mesh size, so one needs to play around a bit to make sure it will fit. I was able to successfully fit it to my Maitreya body. And of course I am waiting here for my true love to cross the bridge to me…

  • Dress: Midnight Illusion Gown by Moon Amore
  • Gloves: Long Bento Gloves by L’Emporio in 30 colors
  • Jewelry: Leah earrings and Betsy necklace by Avaway,  Magic necklace by Swallow
  • Hair: Mayumi3 by D!va
  • Pose: The Bella Series – Three by An Lar

The Angelic Souls outfit looks just the thing for the damsel dashing through the magic forest! Available in two colors (white and black) for Maitreya.

  • Dress: Angelic Souls by Moon Amore
  • Boots: Candy Lolita by Candy Kitten
  • Earrings: Lollipop Guild by Violet Voltaire  (Marketplace link)
  • Hair: Haruka by Argrace (sadly no longer available, as Argrace has retired nearly all of their hair)
  • Pose: Sexy 06 by Aeon Animations  (Marketplace link)

Ready for a little fantasy in your day my friends? Cheers!

On the run

The Sisters of Eden recently had a cyberpunk-themed party (DJd by our very own Jaz) and I had a lot of fun putting together an outfit that I really wanted to share with you.  This really was a fun outfit, as I assembled it from a variety of bits and pieces!

  • :::SOLE::: — Shinkan glasses (unrigged mesh) (Marketplace link)
  • :::SOLE::: — Luna Headset (unrigged mesh) (Marketplace link)
  • Profectus — Time Brace
  • Xtra OrdinaryDragonsuit Top applier and collar from Sith Lady costume  (Maitreya/Physique/Hourglass/Freya/Isis/Venus fitmesh, Omega/Maitreya appliers)
  • Xtra Ordinary — Coat from Underworld Deathdealer full costume  (Maitreya/Physique/Hourglass/Freya/Isis/Venus fitmesh, Omega/Maitreya appliers)
  • Xtra Ordinary — Combat belt from Black Widow full costume  (Maitreya/Physique/Hourglass/Freya/Isis/Venus fitmesh, Omega/Maitreya appliers)
  • [The Forge] — Cypher pants (Oil) (Gacha) (Marketplace Link)
  • Silvan Moon Designs  —  Bento Gloves, exclusive for Fallen Gods Decennial
  • GRAVES — G322 Combat Boots (unrigged mesh)
  • BAXE — Miss China – Gala 2018

I didn’t want to go all Tron-glowy, but cyberpunk does require some supporting gadgets!  I found just the right things at :::Sole:::.  I’m wearing two separate pieces here,  the Luna headset and the Shinkan glasses.  Both have huds for texture and glow, and both are unrigged mesh – so they’re resizable!

The boots were a tricky find — I wanted something that buckled and looked meant for action — not silly oversexed high-heel boots.  But I also needed something that could accommodate the mesh leggings without having surface conflicts (‘peek-through’). Graves’ Combat Boots are just right — with male and female versions so it’s not just a genderless muck boot.

I’m always reminded how much fun it is to assemble an outfit from bits and pieces.  I totally love playing with a role-playing costume like this!

Mix and Match 3

Sometimes inspiration strikes from any old place. I was out and about furniture shopping and came across a sign in the store with a picture of a dress I really thought was pretty. I IM’d the store owner to ask what is was and she kindly told me. It was called The Bridal Gown from Dead Dollz, and what particularly appealed to me was the lace overdress. So I bought the dress and took that part and start building around it.

As being all lace it was already see through, and rather revealing at the top, I add a set of flower modesty covers for top and bottom, also from Dead Dollz, which matched the lace overdress pattern nicely. To this I added a set of flexi sleeves from one of my favorite gowns, the Bianca from FlowerDreams.

  • Pose: The Finnley Series – Four by An Lar

Rounding it out was a pair of nice lace applier gloves and of course my favorite boots, the Gothic Lolita’s from Candy Kitten.

So let your inspiration soar – be inspired by something in your inventory and start mixing it up with other bits and pieces and see what you can create! Cheers!
