This designer has (probably rightly) skipped the classic rigged mesh sizes for all fitmesh, with specific sizes for the classic system body, Ebody, Slink Hourglass and Physique, and Maitreya. The dress also comes with a HUD with nine different textures.

Sometimes I have an item in my inventory that I rather like – but I just don’t seem to be able to find the right outfit to put it with. It sits there lurking in the background, maybe even prompting the “should I get rid of it?” thoughts when I come across it.
Well, Owl Moon by Spyralle was one of those for me, until a week ago. Eden was holding our Autumn Queen dance, and I thought of this gown — and with a few ingenious additions, put together an outfit that I can’t wait to wear again and again!
Owl Moon is a lovely mesh gown (rigged mesh in the standard five sizes), and I’ll admit, part of the problem in my inventory may be my love to dance — and the… awkwardness… of some mesh gowns for dancing. Well, part of that, of course, is to choose your dances appropriately. Some shuffle-y dances from Humanoid did just the trick for me!
The wreath of daisies from Caverna Obscura accentuates the oranges and greens, as do a fire opal pendant and earrings from Evelock.
For the dance itself, I added a beautiful pair of wings from Faeline Fairy — because sometimes everyone needs to unfurl their wings. Shigeko come in a several colour schemes, but the oranges and purples just seemed made for Owl Moon September.
So, lessons? Go back and look at your inventory with fresh eyes, you might find new and exciting ways to use things — whether they’re old favourites or items you’ve never worn. And don’t get rid of that pretty outfit just because you haven’t worn it yet, no matter how long you’ve had it! 😉

The 50s! Chrome and streamliners, the promise of the atom to power our homes, airplanes, spaceships! Eclectic Stars brings us Swingers – Atomic, a beautiful swing dress drawing us back to that time when we still looked at nuclear power with hope — but with bright shiny mesh instead of chrome and Naugahyde!
Eclectic Stars has made Swingers in the standard five mesh sizes, plus fitmesh for Physique, Hourglass, Maitreya and TMP mesh bodies! I just happened to have this lovely atom-inspired necklace and earring set from Dressed by Lexi‘s Chemical Reaction, a four-part hunt gift from about a year ago. Seems as if it were made for this dress!
I love the satiny sheen on the top! I really need to look at more of Eclectic Stars‘ offerings — particularly since Jadziya promises “A little bit cheeky, many bits geeky!” It seems, perhaps, a store after my own heart.
And before you say anything, no, atoms do NOT look like that. It’s a cartoon. But images of s- and p-orbitals would be much less reminiscent of the 1950s kitsch. 🙂

This great hoodie and top combo from Tori’s in just in time for a cooler turn in the weather! What a great addition to the wardrobe, it comes with an eighteen color HUD for the top, with bright on and off options.
Standard sizes are included, and fitmesh sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Physique, Hourglass, TMP, and Maitreya are all in the package. I love it!
Fall (or Autumn depending on what you call it) is officially here, and Halloween will be on us in no time! Here’s the first Fall outfit for the year, and the one I wore to Eden‘s Fall Queen contest at the weekend.
The full outfit is from StormCrow Designs and is in standard mesh sizes, and comes with the leggings on system layers, but also includes appliers for Slink, Maitreya, Wowmeh, and Omega, so all your bases are covered. Also included are a wonderfully detailed set of unrigged boots with resizers, which are great to mix and match with other outfits too!
Aloha kakou! The Fall Equinox has come and gone, and in the northern hemisphere, days are speeding shorter, there’s a cool breeze in the air. October is coming, and Carrie’s Lingerie is ready for it! Normally I’d avoid green hair, but the light mint really complements the skin and ‘kini colours. A good lavender or golden blonde works as well. Blue liked the blonde, but I feel much more at home in lavender skin than I do in blonde hair. 🙂

Blue says: What a journey we’ve had over the last year! We’ve done 420 posts and I’m not even going to count the number of photos we’ve posted for you, gentle reader. Speaking personally, I’ve loved every minute of it, finding outfits, finding locations, taking photos, learning along the way to make better things, presenting better, and just having a great experience all round. I hope you’ve all got some pointers to good clothing, hair, jewelry, and everything else we’ve posted about. And I hope you’ve all tried to support the fantastic designers that make this amazing second life possible. My beautiful partner Aeon has been here with me through all the good times (and some not so good times as well) and she is just too wonderful for words. Supportive, loving, caring, creative, full of ideas and enthusiasm, I don’t know how she puts up with her nutsy script girl sometimes 🙂 Love her, I do. As we run hand in hand across new fields, who knows what’s around the next corner, what the next discovery will be, what we’ll learn next? I hope you’ll join us in all that’s to come!
Aeon says: How is it already a year? How is it only a year? I’ll be honest, I never thought of myself as knowing anything about fashion, but this has been such an incredible experience. I think every day is a little better for learning something new, and creating something new, and this blog has definitely been a part of it. Perhaps dabbling in RL photography has made me a better SL photographer: but I definitely know that I’ve become a better RL portrait/human photographer than I ever was as a result of this blog. Every day is a new opportunity to grow, and I’ve been so lucky to be here, and to have a partner like Blue at my side. Sometimes I can’t tell who has the crazier ideas, she or me, but the best part is jumping into them together. Mahalo nui loa — thank you all, so very much, for travelling with us. For your Friday pleasure (or Saturday morning to my lovely friends on the other side of the dateline), a little group gift from Petite Mort. Festival is a beautiful maxi-skirt and bandeau top in five mesh sizes.
