Twisted infinity

It’s a long way from Hallowe’en, but I found myself mysteriously drawn to the figure in black… what strange secrets did she know?

Infinity has a lovely texture-change HUD, with a variety of dark green and black patterns to choose from.  The straps are independently adjustable, too!  It comes in all your favourite sizes — the standard five rigged mesh, plus fitmesh for Maitreya, both SLink bodies, all three Belleza, and TMP.   And the heels!  Fit for Belleza, Maitreya and SLink high feet, and also with a texture-change HUD!

I get the feeling that I’m being watched!  Eeeek!

Red Iris

This is an experimental fitmesh dress for Maitreya, so unfortunately the rigging isn’t the best, but oh my, I really like it and I hope the creator gets the rigging right!

It comes in sizes for all three Belleza bodies, Hourglass, Physique, and eBody too, and as well as this red version, there is a pink version too.  Because it has so much alpha, if you’re wearing applier panties with it, don’t forget to switch on mask mode 🙂

Or be daring and wear it without hehe

Dialing Home

There is joy in wandering…. and joy in returning.  The cosmos is my home, the dance of the stars my heartbeat.

Neil said “We are made of the dust of stars, and the oceans flow in my veins”.

Come with me…. let’s set a course.  Second star to the left, and straight on until dawn.

Cuteness

It doesn’t get much more cute than pandas!

I picked up this great top and skirt combo on the last Women’s Stuff Hunt.  You should keep your eye out for this hunt, it’s a good one with plenty of really nice outfits, makeup, skins, and even sometime hairstyles!

This outfit is just in standard sizes, and has Omega and Maitreya appliers for the bustier, but it works nicely on Lara, with only a few tiny breakthroughs, mostly at the end of the sleeves in extreme poses.

My hairstyle was a giftie from this year’s Hair Fair.  It has a full range of colors to suit anyone or any outfit.  I love the high ponytail 🙂

whispers on the night air

Caverna Obscura recently celebrated their 10th anniversary in-world, and to celebrate, Elvina Ewing created a Anais, a dream in golden silk.  This was a one-day only gift, so I fear that I can’t send you to Caverna looking for it — but I can send you to Caverna to look at all the wonderful things that Elvina is creating.  She’s long been a source for amazing outfits, and her more recent forays into fitmesh do not disappoint!

Anais comes in several variations, sheer and opaque depending on how brazen you would like to be… or how revealing.  Either way, Elvina lets you be your sultriest.

Get yourself to Caverna Obscura  and check out all the lovely pretties for your fae, your arabian nights, or whatever your fantasy might be.

Spoiled

This little dress was a gift on Monthly Midnight Madness.  If you don’t belong to this group you’re missing out on some wonderful giveaways each month!  But really, I wore it to show off the gorgeous new jewelry that my darling Aeon got me for my rezday recently!  She spoils me terribly 🙂

The dress is in fitmesh sizes for Lara, Hourglass, and Physique.  There was an a texture HUD available for it too, but I didn’t bother buying it.

Aeon gave me a gift card to Chop Zuey for my rezday.  She’s so wonderful!  Chop Zuey is one of the largest jewelry makers in SL, and their range is awesome.  I spent days looking for something that would be suitable for both casual and formal wear, and I had settled on a tennis necklace in diamond and platinum.  I went to buy it and the store uses one of the gift card systems where you have to rez out the card, and that transfers the amount to store credit.  So I had to go home to rez the card, and as I was coming back, I noticed this set that I’d missed in my days of agonizing.  I changed my mind in about 20 seconds 🙂

It’s a really lovely set, again in diamond and platinum, consisting of the choker, left and right bracelets, and earrings.  There are two other version available, one in diamond and gold, and one in black diamond and gold.  And to top it all off, this was a set designed for Layka Zelin when she was Miss Venezuela Virtual in 2014!  Wow!

Here’s a closeup of the bracelet.  One minor issue is that the bracelets and the choker are all attached to weird places.  Don’t just add these, attach the bracelets to your left and right hands and the choker to your neck.  You’ll then need to edit them to place them correctly.  The bracelets can be a little tricky figuring out which way is the right way up, so perhaps wear them right out of the box first so you know how they should look.

Also be aware that detailed jewelry like this is very expensive when it comes to avatar rendering complexity.  The choker alone is approximately an additional 62,100 rendering cost!

Harmony

Hi lovelies!  Today I’m sporting a cute little layered hanky dress!

I’ve been a little slow getting to some of the new outfits that I have to show you and I can’t remember how I came across this one.  I think it was an MM board giftie.  It’s for Maitreya Lara only.

I’m also wearing a necklace that I got at the BoHo fair last year (you see how slow I can be?!?)  It’s really quite nice although it has a scripting issue and won’t resize in 1% increments.  I did manage to get it close though!

And my hairstyle is a gift from this year’s Hair Fair.  I hope you managed to get there and found yourself a bunch of new hairstyles!

Home

Aloha kākou!  Greetings from the Islands, sending you all my love from home!  Prism Design has the perfect swimwear for me, a lovely tropical-print boy shorts ‘kini for a group gift!

  • GLITTER — Back Pose (Pose Lover event gift)

Eeek, I may have stayed out in the sun too long!  Sounds like time for a nice tropical drink in the shade, sit back and relax and let the world go by.   I wish you all a wonderful day filled with aloha.

Darktable

After my post about my Wacom tablet and mediocre drawing skills, I thought I’d show you two more pics that I did just for my Flickr account.  Both of them were intended to teach myself about a wonderful piece of freeware called Darktable.  This is a photo processing program for Linux and Mac OS X (and vague Windows support), and it’s a rather marvelous piece of software.  You can do all types of interesting post-processing with it.  I’ve barely scratched the surface with the possibilities it opens up.

This first photo was taken when I got very interested with what you can do with point lights and the shadows that can be generated in SL with them.  Now, of course, I use point lighting all the time in my photos.  I even wrote up a very basic tutorial on how to set up lighting for a shoot.  I used Darktables to play around with the contrast to get the shadows to pop more and to add even more light coming through the window that I got with the photo I took in SL.

In the second photo, I used Darktable to desaturate the image and add photo grain, and again played around with lighting curves to get the look that I wanted and to darken the shadows.  I’m pretty proud of both results, even though they’re so different and similar at the same time (did someone mention “bum”)!

Drawing skills

Sometimes I take photos for my Flickr account without any intension of turning them into blog posts.  Mostly, I do it when we have huge events in Eden and Nandi wants someone to take pics so we can post them to the club’s Facebook page.  But sometimes, I take them just for myself.  Or to challenge myself to do something new.

Late last year, I bought myself a Wacom tablet for drawing in Gimp.  My main focus was better photo retouching with the pressure sensitivity a tablet brings.  But one of the first things I found myself doing with it was drawing hair, as I’d been inspired to give it a go by the work of one of SL’s best post-shoot artists, Angi Manners (warning, NSFW).

Here’s my first ever attempt.

I’m not a great artist, but I’m pretty happy with how this turned out!

For a list of clothing, you can see a previous post on the blog.

P.S. Did anyone notice that this was a lazy way of not doing a photo shoot today? 🙂
