I am so excited to share the latest offering from Nickki at Island Style Designs with you! Nickki has created a gorgeous swimsuit and pareo combo with a fantastic shiny metallic texture.
In the daylight, it looks like this: (note: advanced lighting and materials must be enabled!)
Island Style Designs — Metal Super Shiny Resort Wear One-Piece Swimsuit and Pareo
The outfit is fitmesh, and comes rigged for Maitreya, both SLink, all three Belleza bodies, both EVE bodies, TMP, and Altamura. The strapless suit features some lovely pink lacing in the back, and a subtle green/red/yellow shading for the floral pattern.
Where this suit and pareo really shine (so to speak) is in the dark with some interesting lighting effects. I waded into the water with my pareo still on, and added a little extra lighting to make the suit really shine. You can see the lights really reflected in the suit.
I really loved the pareo, but did finally take it off to just show the suit on its own. It’s somewhat lower cut at the hips, giving a lovely slightly retro feel and look.
We’ve seen body-specific fitmesh explode into SL, and while there has been a lot of materials-enabled textures, we haven’t seen lots of reflective clothing. This is gorgeous, and is sure to be an attention-getter at parties.
Stop on by the new Island Style Designs and take a look today! Mahalo! A hui hou!
Here’s another group gift from Canimal. Canimal is FREE to join, and there are nine, yes nine, really nice group gifts available at the store, this one included!
The dress is fitmesh for Lara only, and comes with a nine color HUD so you can (at least in my case) find a color to suit your hair 🙂
The rigging is well done, and I didn’t notice any issues. It uses the auto-alpha feature for Lara, and depending on what pose you’re in, you may have to un-alpha a little, as the hem is right on an alpha cut boundary. Other than that, it’s a great little mini!
More lingerie 🙂 I seem to be coming across a fair few free undies recently!
This set is separate top and bottoms so you can mix and match. There are fitmesh sizes for Lara, Freya, Venus, Isis, TMP, Physique, and Hourglass. And it comes with a HUD that allows you to color the top and bottoms separately. There are five colors in a crosshatched texture, and a white with pink hearts, and these can also be made semi-sheer. Additionally, there is the lace hearts texture that I’m wearing, in the same five colors, plus a bonus color!
Although this is fitmesh, there is minor clipping at the hips of the panties, but as usual, this is probably only noticeable in extreme poses like the ones in my photo pose stand 🙂
All in all, another wonderful little ensemble, and a chance to show off a hairstyle that’s been hiding in my inventory for ages!
Happy Aloha Friday, my lovely friends! I know, pink normally isn’t my thing, but my wonderful friend Ems got me this lovely dusty rose dress for my rez-day, and I just had to share it with you. 🙂
I really really love the lacey detail work on the bodice. It’s perfectly done, and appears to be actual mesh as opposed to a texture done on a mesh panel. The edges of the lace appear to curl up!
Okay, let’s start by saying I am NOT promoting anything that I’m wearing today. 🙂
I was going on a bit of an inventory cleaning binge, and threw this out as I was getting rid of lots of old and unworn stuff… but then went back and retrieved it. It’s sort of perfect timing — I’ve been in SL for four years now… and it’s rather amazing. I know, many of you might have been here much longer than that, and that’s all right — I know you’ve seen more.
From the progress we’ve made, four years is a apparently a long time in SL. It feels like forever, and no time at all.
So I was cleaning out my inventory, and stumbled on this purple butterflies outfit. It’s the oldest outfit I have, not quite four years old, but probably only a couple months shy of it. Standard layers, with mesh bits for the sleeve cuffs. Even the shirt collar is just textured on the standard layer. For the record, I have those heels in three different colours and they’re still my favourite style of heels in SL!
We probably all have these hiding in our inventories, in our wardrobes… and we put it on and go “EEEEK DON’T LOOK, I’M HIDEOUS!”
I know I did. I’m mostly embarrassed with how… grumpy… I feel that I looked!
But on second thought, I stopped… you know, this was me. I was so proud and happy of this. I splurged on SLink feet shortly after getting into SL, and some nice mid shoes, and if I recall correctly, the hair. WOW, does that hair not play well with background alphas! But I still love this outfit… I would die for it in fitmesh!
It’s amazing, right now, to think “I was so proud of how I looked”… and to think how far we’ve come, even in just four years.
There are a lot of times we look at SL and say “dammit, SL, why can’t you fix this problem, or that problem”… but it’s important, too, to look and say “Thanks, SL, for adding this… for expanding this… for creating this”.
Thanks, SL, for giving me four happy years. Thanks, my friends, for walking with me through this little venture.
The March We Love Role Play event has started, and Silvan Moon Designs has a lovely outfit for you. The Lady Ariana gown comes in nine different spring-light colours, including the white shown here.
Lady Ariana comes in fitmesh for both SLink bodies as well as the Maitreaya Lara, and demos are available at We Love Role Play as well as a fatpack with all nine colours! There are two pieces, a bodice and skirt. The gold brocade-type front panel is on white for all of the gowns.
I found this nice top and pants set while going through unopened boxes the other day.
The pants and top are one piece and come is fitmesh for classic, Lara. Freya, Isis, Venus, eBody, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Curvy, and Fine.
I didn’t do a photo from the back, but the pants are nicely detailed with some sown pockets, making them just a little less plain than my photos make them out to be. Overall, a very nice outfit!
Eden had its annual Spring Queen dance this past weekend, and it was the perfect opportunity for a new gown! Paris METRO Couture had just the thing with Wild Bunch, a beautiful new creation in mesh and flexi. This is the first hybrid gown that I’ve seen from Paris METRO, and I’m so glad for it.
This was the perfect gown for my Mokolea necklace and earrings set from Luminesse. It now features the OptPlus script, so jewelry pieces can be menu adjusted for glow and/or full bright!
PM has long understood that full-mesh gowns dance so very poorly, and have always had wonderful flexi gowns with applier tops. But as lovely as their texturing is, appliers just can’t compete with fitmesh for realism in many circumstances. Paris METRO Couture has combined the two here, crating a mesh gown with a flexi overskirt. Be warned: as with any good flexi gown, complexity is high, but not critically so (in my opinion): the fitmesh component comes in at about 1500, and the overskirt at nearly 200.000. With jewelry and hair, you’re probably clearing 300.000 total. For a beautiful ball gown, that’s pretty low!
This flower mesh gown comes in three lovely patterns, please stop on by and take a look.
It’s been quite a long time since I mentioned Catseye. A couple of years ago I did some nice photos for Catty, the owner. I was recently there to look for something for an outfit, and would you believe it? My letter came up on the LL board!
This tigress consists of a skin on system, and appliers for Slink and Omega. There are two versions, one with black lips and one with natural lips. Also included in the package are the ears, the tail, and a shape (that I’m not wearing in these pics). All you need to find is a suitable hair et voila!
The skin is “adult”. If there’s one thing I’d like to see Catty do more for some of these gorgeous skins is to add some cleavage options. The major cleavage going on here is suitable for a corset top, but not really suited to a bikini or going naked. Other than that, another wonderful skin and accessories pack from Catseye!
