I needed a better wetsuit for sailing, as the one I had was BoM which I made for myself ages ago. I hunted around and found this one. This suit is L$250 at CLBlue.
There are two sizes for Lara in the pack, a standard fit and one for slim arms. Also included are fits for Freya, Isis, Slink Hourglass, and a one-size-fits-all fitmesh for classic avatars. The suit is modify, and the creator has supplied the AO and UV maps, so you can texture to your heart’s content. There are also some example colors in there too, green, aqua, and black (shown).
The fit for Lara requires some substantial work with alphas to hide poke through. So much alpha that this may be the first Lara outfit that I’ll sit down and take the time to make an auto-alpha wearable to go with it. If you don’t know what that means, let me explain. You can get a free script at the Maitreya store. If you drop it in an object and tell it which alpha cuts to apply, it will automatically alpha your bod when you wear it, and un-alpha them when you take it off. Normally, you’d create a transparent sphere or something and wear that with the outfit, but because this is modify, I can drop the script right in the wetsuit. That will certainly save some time when getting changed!
All in all, this is a very nice looking suit making great use of materials. Considering you get a mod kit with it, it’s definitely value for money.
Right now, we know of almost 5000 planets in 3500 planetary systems… gas giants, burning rocks, frozen worlds… and perhaps some ocean worlds, with waters gently lapping at alien shores. What life basks in the glow of those distant suns?
I recently picked up a wonderful new swim cossie to share with you. The Kioke one-piece suit from Belzebubble is a beautiful one-piece despite being labelled as a “bikini”. It’s a beautifully rigged mesh suit in fitmesh for Maitreya Lara, Maitreya Petite, Legacy, and Legacy Perky. Each body has two versions, depending on how much nipplage you want to show.
The cossie has a nice HUD with colour choices for the pain suit, back, and trim. It’s a standard Belzebubble HUD, which I personally feel could be improved by a wider variety in colour choices: there’s only two each blue and green options, while nearly one-third of the HUD is pink and coral options. That said, there’s sure to be choices here that you’ll love, and a suit rigged for Lara Petite is a great option!
One of the things I’m most excited about is finding a look that works well with some of my exotic skins from Fallen Gods. FG has a number of mer-inspired skins, and this is Oceanica Indian Argentum. It’s one of my favourites, but one I don’t wear too frequently — I’m glad to have a new suit to show it off!
I was taken out on a shopping spree for my rez-day at the CYBER Faire (open from March 4 to March 24, 2021), and OMG it was so much fun. I’ve been wanting to improve my cyber/sci fi/futuristic outfit/costume situation for a long time, and have had a lot of disappointment at sci-fi/cyber type events (just bad luck?) but the current cyber faire is just FULL of goodies that I couldn’t pass up.
Let’s start off with the G647 Control BOM/applier bodysuit from GRAVES Fetish and Cyberpunk. GRAVES has long been creating some of the sleekest and sexiest body suits for your sci-fi/cyberpunk needs, and as the capabilities and appearance of clothing in SL has improved, so has theirs. Yes, it’s still appliers, but now BOM is added, and they make good use of materials — texture and specular layers. I’m a big fan of BOM here: it’s supposed to be skin-tight, but the texture adds just enough pop that it looks right. The big advantage of BOM, of course, is low complexity impact, and a really big favourite is its ability to be worn on any body shape. I love the Lara Petite chest, but the available clothing items for it are still few. No problem with BOM! Control includes an unrigged mesh collar, because you just need that three-dimensionality there. I added an older pair of G322 combat boots that I had on hand — also from GRAVES — to go with the outfit. The gloves are included as part of the Control BOM.
And OMG, I just love the new Synchronicity helmet from .:Bison:.. It’s sold in individual base colours, and also available in a fatpack. Several lighting effects and colours are available. The helmet visor has an opaque/transparent option, and a lovely little animation (with gestures and sound effects) for opening/closing the helmet. You have GOT to pick up a demo of this, but be warned — to pick up a demo is to doom yourself to purchasing at least one. I found it really easy to fit over the Dext hair from A&Y Bunker CyberShop
One last goodie — the beautiful Celestial tattoo from .::Nefekalum::... This one didn’t come from CYBER Faire, but rather from the March edition of We Love Role Play. But wow it fits in so well, I love the whole look together here. It’s busy, but I feel like it just makes my face pop (in a good way!)
I hope you get the chance to get out and enjoy the Faire. There’s more to come that I have to share with you! This is definitely my favourite Cyber event!
I’ve had these pics for a month or so now, sometimes I get some pics taken but don’t get the time to post them. This is a beautiful dress that I picked up at an event a month or two back.
I love the combination of the short hem and the high neck. It’s just perfect for wearing with leggings… or a lovely racy feeling with bare legs! For these pics, though, I paired it up with a couple different pairs of tights from Alaska Metro <3
The right shoulder is a tinted opaque panel. Colours are sold separately, but I kinda just had to pick up a few of the available colours. I really love the purple and the black here! Each version is available in two options: with and without stars on the opaque (coloured) portion of the dress.
The mist swallows up every trace of sound… the ranger watching over her woods like a careful guardian, knowing every path, every glade, every copse. These are her woods, and you walk here at her grace.
Daughter of Olaf is a four-piece outfit: tunic, shift, leggings and girdle for Maitreya Lara only. It comes in eight beautiful colours. I wanted to share the brown with you — it felt just perfect for my huntress. Boots are not included, but I added Silvan Boots (Winter Magic)from [QE], and the look just right. Top it off with a few pieces of jewelry, and I’m all set.
Well, almost all set — a huntress needs her tools, and a few happy pieces make up my arsenal. First and foremost is the beautiful Bow of Galadhrim from from TS Creations. I saw it at the 2020 Fantasy Faire, and just fell in love with it right away. It’s a fully functional combat bow, but I haven’t actually used it for combat, only for costumes.
I’ve got a small hand axe that I also picked up at Enchanted. The Raider Hatchettfrom [mizu] is a beautifully detailed little piece that caught my eye. It’s the perfect detail to hang on my belt!
There’s something wonderful about putting together costumes, whether you role-play, have a costume contest at a club, or just like trying something different out. Enchantment will be open until March 8, so you have a bit of time to get over and look around. Please do, and have fun!
There’s something right and beautiful about celebrating the turning of the year with lights…. our memories of the past light our today, the hope of the future lights the path ahead.
Aloha kākou! Mele Kalikimaka a Hau’oli Makahiki Hou!
I recently discovered Carpe Noctem, and have another wonderful little warm snuggly outfit to share with you. This is the lovely Iby cable-knit sweater dress, and it’s individually available in twenty different colours and ten different patterns. Like the Andie top, you can get each of the patterns separately — no colours/textures are reserved for the fatpack!
Iby is available in Legacy, Legacy Perky, Lara, and Lara Petite fitmesh. Lara Petite! I’m over the moon! The patterning here is just really perfect, the snowflakes look just wonderful.
I added my Snow Flurry necklace and earrings from EarthStones, as well as some lovely gold tights from Alaska Metro <3. They’re the perfect complement to the gold and silver snowflake motif of the dress.
It’s been a long year… and 2021 will definitely have its share of challenges — but I wish you a wonderful new year filled with light and peace and love. Hau’oli Makahiki Hou!
There’s something special about the holiday, it’s an excuse to cuddle up and be snuggly, to not have to leave the house — watching the snow fall outside, knowing how cold and dark it is out there… and how warm and bright it is in here.
I just stumbled across some wonderful things from a creator that’s new to me, and I just had to share them with you! This is the beautiful Andie Rib Knit top from Carpe Noctem. I’ll confess, that I don’t usually go for crop top — my tummy gets too cold! But this is SOOOO cute that I just fell in love with it.
Andie comes in 20 beautiful colours and 10 patterns. Here’s my favourite part: you can get all of them individually! None of this “you have to buy the fatpack to get these patterns/colours that you really want”… no, you just get what you want — or you get the lovely reasonable HUD-driven fatpack if you want them all! I just love the kittens, but there are a bunch of wonderful colours that I adore, too. It’s also available in Lara Petite (as well as other sizes), so YAY!
Aloha kākou! Perhaps we’re still a month off from the Solstice, from Christmas, from Hanukkah, from the Season of Light… but it’s been a difficult year, and the light and hope that that season brings can’t come too early for me.
Prima Donna comes in seven beautiful colours. I fell in love with several of them… but the holiday feeling hit me so strongly that I just had to share Emerald with you. The Holly crown from .AiShA. and the Pointsettia ‘n Bells necklace and earrings from EarthStones just matched too perfectly to miss!
And lastly… please stop by and visit the lovely Savor Serenity sim. My dear friend Gidgy is one of the most wonderful sim builders I know. Please stop by and enjoy the beauty there!
Aloha kākou! This is one of those outfits/costumes/looks that sprang to mind almost instantly when I first saw the Damned tattoo set from Fallen Gods. I already had the beautiful Pure skin in the Abyssia colour scheme, a perfect beautiful blue. When the two came together, it was the most magical gold-detailed lapis… and lapis is one of my two favourite precious stones.
The rest came together in bits and pieces. A waist wrap from Meli Imako, a top from r2 A/D/E. A beautiful scarab necklace from Spyralle. And, of course, the beautiful sim at Terra Egypta provided the best setting I could imagine.
This is the second time I’ve tried shooting this skin/tattoo — the first time I was not happy with the results, a creative vision that was not quite right. I’ve changed the clothing, jewelry, all much for the better.
And for all that… I’m still not quite satisfied. I’ll have to play with this some more, but for the time being, I’m pretty pleased.
Through a disaster of record keeping, I managed to lose my pose and windlight information. I’m still hoping to find the list, and will edit this post if/when I do!
Aloha, my friends. I’ll be back more as soon as I can be!
Gathering for a fancy ball seems like it may be a lifetime ago… but the stars still look down in glittering splendour, and the crickets and frogs and nightingales still sing their evensong… it is up for us to decide to dance.
Bee and Solas from Silvan Moon Designs have a wonderful new gown for you at We Love Role Play! The Lady Aliana is sized for Maitreya and SLink bodies, and comes in eight beautiful colours
Bare shoulders give an opportunity for some larger jewelry. I really love the Hawaiian-themed Mokolea jewelry set from Luminesse. I’m wearing the dark blue Maluhia set here, as it seemed to catch the colours of the gown just right.
It’s a beautiful Friday! I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend. I’m going to head out with my camera and see what stories await! A hui hou! Mālama pono kākou! Take care, everyone!
