Tears of Queen Liliana features a mesh gown, gloves and belt, with flexi wispy bits for sway.  And as with all of Silvan Moon Designs‘ new products, it comes in Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink fitmesh, as well as classic fitmesh and the five standard rigged sizes.  Solas wants to make sure that your fit is just right for you!

A little Pepper for spice

I’ve been wanting to share this lovely dress from !Soul with you for a while, and a new makeup applier from [GA.EG] has given me the perfect opportunity!

pepper_c003

  • !Soul — Pepper minidress
  • .woundRibbon choker (vibrant)
  • [GA.EG] — Nefertiti eye shadow
  • [L.Warwick] — Savannah Ankle Strapped Heels – Noir Leather
  • ProPose —  Group Gift September F1

pepper_c002

Pepper is all mesh, with Slink and Maitreya fitmesh, and has a hud with a staggering number of colour choices:  Main colours and piping are independently selectable from a palette of  60 colours!  Oh, wait- and there are two different palettes of 60 choices to choose from!

The other lovely item I want to share is this amazing eyeshadow.  I’ll confess to having always loved the Egyptian kohl look, and [GA.EG] has really made it hum!  Now, a word of note: the [GA.EG] makeups are an add-on to the [GA.EG] head Smart HUDs, so this isn’t an Omega applier for everyone.  But WOW, it’s a beauty, with a host of accent colours plus a variety of other customising possibilities.  Nefertiti installs into the [GA.EG] Smart HUD, so there’s no extra HUD to use, your whole makeup kit is there at your fingertips!
pepper_c006

A few more variations — with a green-and-silver dress and some different colours on the eyeshadow!

There’s an additional version with lovely cross-strapping across the back.  I may well have to run back and pick it up.  !Soul has previously released a number of cute minis as group gifts, but this one has them beat.  Now, if only we might get this with the rainbow texture, I’d be in complete heaven!

The Hollies had it right.

I am neither long nor cool, but two things I am quite sure of:

  1. The Hollies knew how to sing it
  2. Every girl needs her LBD.

Dressed by Lexi is making sure you’re covered with a great little in-store hunt until the end of October!  It’s 10L per item, but there are five fantastic Little Black Dresses for you to aquire!  I thought I’d share my favourite of the bunch with you here, the delectable Mrs. Jones.

lbd_dbl_mrsjones_c006

lbd_dbl_mrsjones_c004

Mrs. Jones comes in standard mesh sizes plus Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink fitmesh!

lbd_dbl_mrsjones_c005

After thought #1: Remember, this hunt is only on until the end of October!  Get over there post-haste!

After thougth #2: Unlike The Hollies, there’s no weaponry involved.  Where would I hide it?

Autumn moon

Sometimes I have an item in my inventory that I rather like – but I just don’t seem to be able to find the right outfit to put it with.  It sits there lurking in the background, maybe even prompting the “should I get rid of it?” thoughts when I come across it.

Well, Owl Moon by Spyralle was one of those for me, until a week ago.  Eden was holding our Autumn Queen dance, and I thought of this gown — and with a few ingenious additions, put together an outfit that I can’t wait to wear again and again!

septembermoon_c008

Owl Moon is a lovely mesh gown (rigged mesh in the standard five sizes), and I’ll admit, part of the problem in my inventory may be my love to dance — and the… awkwardness… of some mesh gowns for dancing.  Well, part of that, of course, is to choose your dances appropriately.  Some shuffle-y dances from Humanoid did just the trick for me!

The wreath of daisies from Caverna Obscura accentuates the oranges and greens, as do a fire opal pendant and earrings from Evelock.septembermoon_c009

For the dance itself, I added a beautiful pair of wings from Faeline Fairy — because sometimes everyone needs to unfurl their wings.  Shigeko come in a several colour schemes, but the oranges and purples just seemed made for Owl Moon September.

septembermoon_c002

So, lessons? Go back and look at your inventory with fresh eyes, you might find new and exciting ways to use things — whether they’re old favourites or items you’ve never worn.  And don’t get rid of that pretty outfit just because you haven’t worn it yet, no matter how long you’ve had it!  😉

And go take a look at Spyralle — Owl Moon comes in a number of beautiful patterns!

Atomic age

How about a little music for my old friend Whit?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Aq5cqjUFOo

The 50s!  Chrome and streamliners, the promise of the atom to power our homes, airplanes, spaceships!  Eclectic Stars brings us Swingers – Atomic, a beautiful swing dress drawing us back to that time when we still looked at nuclear power with hope — but with bright shiny mesh instead of chrome and Naugahyde!

atomicswingers_c008

Eclectic Stars has made Swingers in the standard five mesh sizes, plus fitmesh for Physique, Hourglass, Maitreya and TMP mesh bodies!   I just happened to have this lovely atom-inspired necklace and earring set from Dressed by Lexi‘s Chemical Reaction, a four-part hunt gift from about a year ago.  Seems as if it were made for this dress!

atomicswingers_ce002

I love the satiny sheen on the top!  I really need to look at more of Eclectic Stars‘ offerings — particularly since Jadziya promises “A little bit cheeky, many bits geeky!”  It seems, perhaps, a store after my own heart.
atomicswingers_c007

And before you say anything, noatoms do NOT look like that.  It’s a cartoon.  But images of s- and p-orbitals would be much less reminiscent of the 1950s kitsch.  🙂

Irridescence

Aloha kakou!  The Fall Equinox has come and gone, and in the northern hemisphere, days are speeding shorter, there’s a cool breeze in the air.  October is coming, and Carrie’s Lingerie is ready for it!  Carrie has put together six lovely complete costumes for the VIP group — with clothing, accessories and skins — guaranteed to make an impact on whatever fancy dress party you might choose to attend!

I get to show you one of these, but if you follow Carrie’s on flickr, you can find pictures of others.  This is the lovely Irridessa!
irridessa_c004

Irridessa includes omega appliers for skin, makeup, bra and panty, mesh wings, anklets and pointy elf-ears, and flexi-prim silks.  It’s nearly all-in-one!

irridessa_c009

Normally I’d avoid green hair, but the light mint really complements the skin and ‘kini colours.  A good lavender or golden blonde works as well.  Blue liked the blonde, but I feel much more at home in lavender skin than I do in blonde hair.  🙂

irridessa_c022

These costumes truly are a treat.  Stop by Carrie’s Lingerie, become a VIP member, and enjoy.  They’re incredible, and you’ll be ready for fancy dress… or maybe a little bit of everyday.

A little Friday festival

For your Friday pleasure (or Saturday morning to my lovely friends on the other side of the dateline), a little group gift from Petite Mort.  Festival is a beautiful maxi-skirt and bandeau top in five mesh sizes.

festival_c002

festival_c003

festival_c004

  • Mistress Midnight — MM Model Pose 17

Now, Petite Mort currently has nine past group gifts back up on the wall, Festival included.  I don’t know how long they’ll be up, but stop by and take a look, and peruse the rest of the bohemian fashion offered in the store!  In the meantime, I’ll show you another one or two of those gifts in the next week or so.

A Goddess for a reason

Did you see what I did there?

Athena, goddess of intelligence, creativity, and reason — and, in a swirl of silks, the latest offering in Carrie’s Lingerie VIP group.

athene_c004

You may choose to shed the gown for the corset.. for a more.. intimate… setting.

athene_c007

There’s so much here to talk about: matching pumps, jewelry, and a beautiful makeup kit.  The standard layer makeup is a full-set tattoo, but the omega appliers are independently selectable for eye and lippy.  I wish that the decoration to the outside of the eye was also independently selectable, but it’s a great effect overall.

As a friend of mine said, the collar/choker alone is worth the price of admission!
athene_c010

The third configuration is a ‘decoration-only’ mode – no gown, no corset, just decorations… and panties or no, as you choose.  It’s a lovely with the silks!

athene_c008If you’re not a member of Carrie’s VIP group, it’s a pretty nice deal.  It’s a little spendy to join — about the price of one of Carrie’s lovely outfits — but there are lovely gifts, and first crack at new products.

Autumn Browns

It’s September, and some of us are experiencing the cooler weather… time for a little heavier of a dress, I think!  The peppers are ready to pick (and this little duck will be making some fiery salsa), but in the meantime, I’d best chase the ducks away from the garden!

Blue Moon Enterprises offers Coreen in rust, a beautiful one-piece mesh dress and blouse for their September group gift.  It’s in five standard sizes, and is perfect for a cool autumn day!
bme_coreen_c001

Solas does the most amazing detail work on her mesh.  Look at the folds in the neckline and on the sleeve, and the detail work along the top of the dress, and the stitching down the back.  If only I had her skill!

bme_coreen_c006

Now, on to more pressing matters — for a share of the salsa, who will help me dice my peppers?

Aloha!  A hui hou!

Help Support Medecines Sans Frontieres!

SL is no stranger to charities, and Spoonful of Sugar is perhaps one of my favourite so far.  Five sims of shops and activities and events, and the proceeds go to Medecines Sans Frontieres / Doctors Without Borders, helping the sick and injured in some of the most needy parts of the world.

Spyralle‘s contribution is the lovely Kirana mesh gown.  It’s sized in the standard five standard sizes, but works well with my Slink Physique.

kirana_c009

Luminesse‘s Sea Turtle happened to complement Kirana perfectly, in each colour!

kirana_c005

Kirana comes in six lovely colour/textures.  I’ve got three of them here to show you, for the others you’ll have to stop by Spyralle’s booth at Spoonful.   There’s a demo you can try, always a good idea!

There’s more, though — there’s a one of a kind special Royal Batik Summer Gypsy in Torch Light.  This colour pattern will only be available for ONE copy of this outfit, and it’s up for bidding here.  Sadly, I couldn’t convince Kerryth to get me a copy to demonstrate for you  😀  but you must stop by and put in a bid!

Good luck!  Aloha!  A hui hou!
