Okay, let’s start by saying I am NOT promoting anything that I’m wearing today.  🙂

I was going on a bit of an inventory cleaning binge, and threw this out as I was getting rid of lots of old and unworn stuff… but then went back and retrieved it.  It’s sort of perfect timing — I’ve been in SL for four years now… and it’s rather amazing.  I know, many of you might have been here much longer than that, and that’s all right — I know you’ve seen more.

From the progress we’ve made, four years is a apparently a long time in SL.  It feels like forever, and no time at all.

So I was cleaning out my inventory, and stumbled on this purple butterflies outfit.  It’s the oldest outfit I have, not quite four years old, but probably only a couple months shy of it.  Standard layers, with mesh bits for the sleeve cuffs.  Even the shirt collar is just textured on the standard layer.  For the record, I have those heels in three different colours and they’re still my favourite style of heels in SL!

We probably all have these hiding in our inventories, in our wardrobes… and we put it on and go “EEEEK DON’T LOOK, I’M HIDEOUS!”

I know I did.  I’m mostly embarrassed with how… grumpy… I feel that I looked!

But on second thought, I stopped…  you know, this was me.  I was so proud and happy of this.  I splurged on SLink feet shortly after getting into SL, and some nice mid shoes, and if I recall correctly, the hair.  WOW, does that hair not play well with background alphas!  But I still love this outfit… I would die for it in fitmesh!

It’s amazing, right now, to think “I was so proud of how I looked”… and to think how far we’ve come, even in just four years.

There are a lot of times we look at SL and say “dammit, SL, why can’t you fix this problem, or that problem”… but it’s important, too, to look and say “Thanks, SL, for adding this… for expanding this… for creating this”.

Thanks, SL, for giving me four happy years.  Thanks, my friends, for walking with me through this little venture.

50 Cats

Cica Ghost is an artist and resident of SL.  She does regular art exhibitions and sometimes they are really really wonderful!  Case in point was 50 Cats.  Unfortunately I found out about it on the last day of the exhibition, and it’s now closed.  I hope you all got to see it days before I did.  Here are two pics I took, and you can see more on Cica’s Flickr page.

Seasons Greetings 2017

Another year has passed!  I forgot to mention that the blog is over two years old (it’s birthday is in late September)!

Here’s our greeting card photos for this year.  Aeon and I again took photos at the same time and without consulting each other.  We must be telepathic 🙂

Blue says: So many things have happened in SL this year!  I’ve mentioned before that I love to take this time of year to reflect on the good and what I could have done better.  Aeon and I went through a little crisis as I expect a lot of couples do, and looking back, that was mostly my fault for paying more attention to things like involvement with Eden and other various projects, and not enough attention to my lovely wife.  Thank you for my wakeup call, darling ♥♥♥

During the year, the owner of Eden appointed me a Head Angel.  Angels are a combination host/helper/security officer/builder and all around “do what needs to be done” people.  This was a huge honor, as I’ve always done whatever I could to help out with scripting or building or organizing around the club, without expecting anything other than the opportunity to have a good time.  Thank you Sabine!  I’m sure I’ll be working even more closely with our manageress Nandi that I was previously (she and I winterized the club together a couple of weeks ago.  Lots of snowy fun!)   Except of course when I need to pay attention to Aeon!

There are lots more stories I could tell you.  I relocated our in-world store, I had fun meeting new people from all over the world, I set myself building and scripting challenges (and mostly accomplished them), I had fun finding fashion, wearing fashion, and mostly photographing fashion, and I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing the things we found, and maybe you found them for yourselves!

But I better leave room for Aeon to write something so I’ll just wish you and your loved ones a wonderful holiday season, and may the new year bring you peace, prosperity, and love in abundance!

It’s important, this time of year in particular, to take advantage of every last moment to step aside and reflect, to breathe in the peace, to let go of stress.  It’s been quite a year of stress for some of us — the outside world of politics and civil unrest seems to wear heavily on many of us right now.  Let me tell you — all of you — that I appreciate this more than anything: to be able to talk to each of you, from around the world, to find common ground, to share laughter and stories and love.  To be able to hold our own against all the people who say “us first, beware the outsider, you should be very afraid” — to all of them, I say this — you are not stronger than love.  Your hatred and fear cannot surpass love.

I am so wonderfully grateful that my family has grown.  I have been honoured to have been adopted as daughter of the wonderful Ia and Jaz Silvermoon, who married last month, and are shining and bright.  Love shared grows, multiplies, exponentiates.  Tack mina mammor, jag älskar er så mycket!

And through all of this, my darling Blue has remained, my wonderful and infinitely understanding bride.  For all the grace and laughter and love, for all of the happiness, the new things to learn, the daily frustrations and joys shared.

Mahalo nui loa, all of you my friends. Thank you so much for being a part of my life.  I wish you all of the peace and joy and wonder of the Solstice, of the season, however you choose to celebrate.

Second Life turned 14 the other day!  I’ve only been on here for three years or so, but I do remember about four years in when SL really started making news, I looked.  I created an account and looked… for about five minutes and went “how silly! why would anyone waste their time on this?”  Too bad I didn’t foresee the potential for improvement back then and stick with it.

As usual, LL is throwing a party, and it’s already started!  There are lots of things to see, including a showcase shopping event with some of the best designers currently working.  And most of the items at the shopping event are heavily discounted.  Also, there are free gifts.  Yay!

Here, I’m wearing two of them.

Flame!  How did you make it into the picture?!  Sneaky kitty.

This lovely little loose cropped tanktop is for Maitreya only, and has a three texture HUD.  I really like the olive.

And a cropped hairstyle!  Woo I love short hairstyles like this!  And it comes with four color packs of six colors each!  While the hair is mesh, it’s unrigged so can be repositioned and resized.  A very generous gift indeed!

OK, Flame. I know I know.  Flame turns 1,000 days old today!  Happy 1000th, Flame *huggles*

Aloha kākou — hello, all my friends —

I just wanted to share something with you today.  Not a product, not a bit of clothing, just a little bit of joy.

This is Blue and I.  It’s a simple little shot, taken down in our park while looking at a lovely little couple pose from [Kikay], trying to sort out what I had.  I love this picture for a bunch of happy reasons — there’s Blue’s lovely orangerie/greenhouse that she made (and I keep trying to convince her to put it up for sale in the shop), there’s the observatory and telescope on the other side that she made for me when she proposed marriage.  But that’s not the best part.

Look at us… sometimes I think this sums us up sooo well.

There’s ku’u Polu, my Blue — elegant and beautiful and focused — and there’s me, a bit ridiculous and completely unable to keep my eyes off of her for even a moment.

Today is Blue’s rez-day.  I think some people think rez-days are a bit silly, they’re not like real birthdays, right?  But maybe they’re better, they’re a celebration of our choice to be here.  And why would we ever turn down a reason for a celebration??

Blue is the most wonderful partner, friend, bride I could hope to have.  Her talents at building and scripting are amazing, but her devotion to her friends, to Eden outshine even those.

I’m so very proud of her.  I’m proud to be hers.   I still remember the first words we said to each other (yes, smarty-pants, even without looking at chat logs) — I remember the way I felt when she proposed.  Maybe I’ll tell you that story sometime.

And every day… I wake up and am happy happy happy to be hers.

And I can’t take my eyes from her.

Hau`oli Lā Hānau, ku’u Polū.  Happy rez-day, love!  Thank you for every single day!
