Fallen angel…

…or ascending demon?

The Fantasy Faire has come again to Second Life, and it does not disappoint.  This event to support Relay for Life has tied together fourteen fantasy worlds, and is absolutely incredible.  And Carrie’s Lingerie has gotten in on the fun with Horny Devil, a lovely little bit of lavender.  This spectacular outfit features a babydoll, stockings and gloves (SL layers and Omega appliers), with mesh wings and horns.  Matching pumps and makeup set are available separately, and it all supports Relay for Life!  You can visit Carrie’s Fantasy Faire location here.

The makeup set includes eyeshadow and liner, lippy, and a lovely forehead tattoo layer that can be selected separately.  It’s not awfully visible with my hair, but… well, I’m not cutting it.  Not again.

The wings are static/non-scripted, but are totally wicked.  And without the flexiprims, the babydoll becomes a bodysuit.

I had too much fun shooting this one, so there are several more pics over on my flickr stream.  If you liked these, please check them out!  And whether you fall in or rise up, you should definitely check out the Fantasy Faire.  There’s just too many excellent opportunities to explore – from shopping to role-playing, and some beautiful sims.  But the event closes on May 1, so don’t dawdle.  This opportunity won’t last for eternity.

Mahalo!  A hui hou!

Stroll

There are a lot of events going on at the moment, including Shiny Shabby (if you can get in!)  I scored these jeans there yesterday, and wanted to show them to you.  I’ve matched them with a wonderful little ribbed tank top that I got from a Midnight Mania board (but the item is available in-store).  Hope you like the look 🙂

Happy 2016!

happy new year 2016

Aeon:  I’m all to aware what a new year is.  We’ve made one more trip around the Sun, starting from an arbitrary point and crossing over that point again.  Full circle, right?  Only it’s not ‘back where we started’… The Sun orbits the Galactic Centre once every 230 million years or so, making for one heck of a cosmic Spirograph.  So here we are, back at this arbitrary point, back again at the turning of the year, back full circle, but someplace new, too.  We’ve seen so much this past year, so many adventures, so many things shared – and back again.  I can’t help but feel so happy for all of it, the good and the bad… overjoyed for every moment with Blue, and our friends, and all of you.  Thank you for joining us in this little adventure.

I wish you all peace this coming year, peace to all of us.  I wish you a year of family and friends and new stories to tell.  Hau’oli Makahiki Hou!

Blue: Happy New Year!  Sitting here watching the fireworks with Aeon, I can’t help but reflect on all the wonderful memories we’ve made together over the last 12 months.  We’ve built things together learning as we go; danced and celebrated our birthdays and those of our friends; we’ve had wonderful times exploring and sailing some wonderful land and seascapes; we’ve cried with our friends at Eden at the passing of one of the regulars; Aeon and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary; so many shared experiences!  And looking forward, so much more to do, so much more to learn and discover!

I hope the new year brings to you and your family and friends a wonderful time, with love, peace, and happiness, and that all your dreams and goals are fulfilled!

Season’s Greetings!

season's greetings from aeon and blue - 2015

Blue: It’s been a hectic lead up to the Christmas season for me, with shopping still to be done on Christmas Eve!  But once it’s all done, we can relax and take time to be with our loved ones and family.  Christmas is always a special day for me, and I just want to wish you lovely readers a happy and joyous holiday and all the best for the new year!  I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the blog and have been inspired by some of the outfits you’ve seen over the last 4 months.  Much more to come after the holidays!

Aeon:  By whatever name you call this season, whatever religious tradition you celebrate – or don’t, this has grown for many into a season of peace, of love, of togetherness.  It’s always been the most important part of the season to me, even with all the stresses that the season may bring.  We have truly enjoyed sharing these little bits of ourselves with you, and are looking forward to spending the new year with you.  Mele Kalikimaka me ka Hau’oli Makahiki Hou!  Aloha nui loa, to all!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Aloha, my friends!

Today we celebrate Thanksgiving Day in the States. We joke that it’s a day to overindulge – to eat until we explode, to use more butter in one meal than is healthy to eat in a week.

As someone involved in academics for her adult life (‘adult’ – heh)  –  I grumble about the timing of the Thanksgiving holiday. Too late in the Fall, too late in the semester, coming back for just two weeks of classes before end-of-term?

We hear stories about the busiest travel days of the year – and about accidents and flight delays.

But in all of this, there is more – beyond the food, beyond the timing, beyond all the encroaching ads and sales for the Christmas season.

I look outside and the weather is grey and bleak and there is the feeling of winter, waiting in the wings, holding its breath.

I think of my family.

I think of the family that I was born to that is out there wishing I could be with them.

I think of the family that I have found, that I have chosen. I think of all the friends that I gather near me – in body, in heart, in spirit.

Aeon and Blue

I have seen the past year bring me new family – and I have felt the pain as some of those family have left this world, leaving their footprints, leaving the marks on me that we all make on each other.

My friends, my family – I am thankful for every one of you. This day is my day to tell you how grateful I am for what you have been to me. No matter where you are in this world, no matter what creed or nationality, no matter what your longitude or time zone – no matter whether you make a point of celebrating today or not – I am thankful for you.

From Blue and I here at Blue’s Fantasy, mahalo nui loa, many many many thanks to you all.
Raise a glass with us today – ‘okole maluna!

Breast Cancer Awareness month

October is breast cancer awareness month.  The statistics on the disease are frightening, with an estimated case diagnosed every 2 minutes in the United State alone, according to the American Cancer Society.  Current trends are positive though, with the breast cancer death rate down 34% since 1990!

Please, learn how to do a breast self examination, and get a mammogram once a year after you turn 40.  Early detection tests for breast cancer save thousands of lives each year, and many more lives could be saved if even more women and their doctors  took advantage of these tests.

Wear your ribbon in October to help spread the word.

My ribbon was a gift from Chop Zuey last October, and while it doesn’t appear to be available in store at the moment, there are lots of others on the marketplace for FREE, see here, here, and here.

Moments – and a lifetime – in Love

Sometimes you just need to take a moment.

So pardon me if I get sappy for just a second. 🙂

When Blue and I married, we kept it a private personal event – we cuddled on a lovely ocean overlook, making our promises to each other.

Two days later, when we announced, friends asked if we would be having a party. A dear friend who owned the sim offered again and again to host the wedding. But our promises were ours, and at that moment, we did not want, could not think of a party.

Here we are, a year later, and more in love than ever. Every day is our own little celebration, our own little renewal of promises.

But today? Today we take a moment. Not just us, but a moment to share our joy and happiness with our friends. Mahalo nui loa, all of you – for being a part of our lives.  You mean more to us than I can ever say in words.

To my partner and bride, my wife – no keia la, no keia po, a mau loa… my love to you, forevermore.
