Black diamonds

Have you been to 2nd Level yet?   No?  WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? There are SOOO many pretties!  Take a look at Dora from GLITTER, a lovely top-and-leggings combo.   Mind you, I love dresses and skirts, but some places are just too chilly for that in the winter — so bring on the leggings and tights!

Dora’s top and leggings are separate pieces, each rigged mesh component in the five standard sizes.  You can mix and match to get your look!

Head on over to 2nd Level and see what there is to see!  And stop by  GLITTER‘s main store, the advent calendar is lovely.

Mahalo, all!  A hui hou!

Victorian Elegance

For the Winter Solstice Event, Sylvan Moon Designs brings you Victoria Faun, a beautiful gown in three parts (skirt, jacket and bodice) and a cute little pillbox hat.  It seems the perfect gown for a Midwinter Ball!
victoriafaun_c007

The detail on this gown – from the mesh to the textures – is amazing.  I love the little filligree at the bodice, arms, and back.  That shouldn’t be surprising, Solas and Bee do incredible work!

victoriafaun_c004

Victoria Faun is available in four different colours: Ice, shown above, royal blue, maroon, and hunter green.   The hunter green is my other favourite, and here I thought I’d try a slightly different look – a little more wild, a little more steampunk.  It’s amazing how just a few details will change the tone of an outfit!

victoriafaun_c001

The tome I’m looking for isn’t here… someone must have removed it… but who?

victoriafaun_c003

So, just a little grumble — make sure you grab the landmark to the Winter Solstice Event here, because it’s not easy to find otherwise.  I’m not sure that Pale Girl Productions (running the show) is trying hide the LM, but they’re not making it easy.  I can’t figure out why — if I were Solas or Bee I’d be a little honked off that PGP is making it harder for people to come to the event!

That said, there are some beautiful things there to find!  Stop by and take a look, and then head over to Silvan Moon Designs —  Solas and Bee create some amazing things for your shopping — and wearing — pleasure!

Make it Snow

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeaehxEdpgo

If you’re not laughing yet, you may should just skip this post.  🙂  Have I mentioned that I love Eclectic Stars’ sense of humour?  How about a nice snuggly jumper?  No, really, I mean literally Snuggly,  A warm funny jumper in five standard mesh sizes!

Even better,  this is one of those wonderful extra-fuzzy-on-the-inside jumpers that feels so good on your skin.  😀

This island girl loves her snow — Poli’ahu has been dancing on her mauna, and the summit is covered in the white stuff.  Even Mauna Loa got some snow this past weekend!

So I’m ready for the cold weather.  Are you?  Make it Snow.  🙂

Aloha!  A hui hou!

woodcuttersdaughter_c001

As you’ve come to expect, Silvan Moon leaves little lacking: the multilayered mesh is beautifully crafted and textured, giving a perfect look for roleplaying, that Octoberfest party (that’s only 11 months away!) or for wearing just because it makes you happy.

woodcuttersdaughter_c003

Woodcutter’s Daughter comes in four colours: a delightful hunter green, blue, lilac, and turqoise (not shown).

Scary Halloween

We’ve had a busy Halloween season at Eden!  This is the outfit (or maybe “body shape and skin”) that I wore for the main party!   Scary, scary!

scary-halloween_002

This demon is truly an incredible work of art as the body is massively materials enabled.  You have to wear the included lighting system and ensure you have Advanced Lighting switched on to get the full effect, but oh my it looks just amazing.  My photos don’t do it justice.  There are two versions, this one and one in black and green.

The only drawback with something like this is the rendering complexity.  It’s over 300K!  For the party I didn’t wear the lighting as dancing causes enough glitter and ripples over the skin, just because you’ve moving enough.

Outfit and shape: Matre Superior Hellica by [BEGIN] Creations

The Hollies had it right.

I am neither long nor cool, but two things I am quite sure of:

  1. The Hollies knew how to sing it
  2. Every girl needs her LBD.

Dressed by Lexi is making sure you’re covered with a great little in-store hunt until the end of October!  It’s 10L per item, but there are five fantastic Little Black Dresses for you to aquire!  I thought I’d share my favourite of the bunch with you here, the delectable Mrs. Jones.

lbd_dbl_mrsjones_c004

Mrs. Jones comes in standard mesh sizes plus Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink fitmesh!

lbd_dbl_mrsjones_c005

After thought #1: Remember, this hunt is only on until the end of October!  Get over there post-haste!

After thougth #2: Unlike The Hollies, there’s no weaponry involved.  Where would I hide it?

Mahalo!  A hui hou!

The blog is a year old!

one-year_005c

Blue says: What a journey we’ve had over the last year!  We’ve done 420 posts and I’m not even going to count the number of photos we’ve posted for you, gentle reader.  Speaking personally, I’ve loved every minute of it, finding outfits, finding locations, taking photos, learning along the way to make better things, presenting better, and just having a great experience all round.  I hope you’ve all got some pointers to good clothing, hair, jewelry, and everything else we’ve posted about.  And I hope you’ve all tried to support the fantastic designers that make this amazing second life possible.  My beautiful partner Aeon has been here with me through all the good times (and some not so good times as well) and she is just too wonderful for words.  Supportive, loving, caring, creative, full of ideas and enthusiasm, I don’t know how she puts up with her nutsy script girl sometimes 🙂  Love her, I do.  As we run hand in hand across new fields, who knows what’s around the next corner, what the next discovery will be, what we’ll learn next?  I hope you’ll join us in all that’s to come!

Aeon says: How is it already a year?  How is it only a year?  I’ll be honest, I never thought of myself as knowing anything about fashion, but this has been such an incredible experience.  I think every day is a little better for learning something new, and creating something new, and this blog has definitely been a part of it.  Perhaps dabbling in RL photography has made me a better SL photographer: but I definitely know that I’ve become a better RL portrait/human photographer than I ever was as a result of this blog.  Every day is a new opportunity to grow, and I’ve been so lucky to be here, and to have a partner like Blue at my side.  Sometimes I can’t tell who has the crazier ideas, she or me, but the best part is jumping into them together.  Mahalo nui loa — thank you all, so very much, for travelling with us.  We hope you’ll stay along for the ride, we have so much more to share!  A hui hou!

Help Support Medecines Sans Frontieres!

SL is no stranger to charities, and Spoonful of Sugar is perhaps one of my favourite so far.  Five sims of shops and activities and events, and the proceeds go to Medecines Sans Frontieres / Doctors Without Borders, helping the sick and injured in some of the most needy parts of the world.

Spyralle‘s contribution is the lovely Kirana mesh gown.  It’s sized in the standard five standard sizes, but works well with my Slink Physique.

kirana_c009

Luminesse‘s Sea Turtle happened to complement Kirana perfectly, in each colour!

kirana_c005

Kirana comes in six lovely colour/textures.  I’ve got three of them here to show you, for the others you’ll have to stop by Spyralle’s booth at Spoonful.   There’s a demo you can try, always a good idea!

There’s more, though — there’s a one of a kind special Royal Batik Summer Gypsy in Torch Light.  This colour pattern will only be available for ONE copy of this outfit, and it’s up for bidding here.  Sadly, I couldn’t convince Kerryth to get me a copy to demonstrate for you  😀  but you must stop by and put in a bid!

Good luck!  Aloha!  A hui hou!

Fireworks!

Aeon may love her BBQ, but I love the fireworks!  Happy Independence Day to all my friends in the US of A!

4th_003

My outfit consists of a fitmesh for Maitreya top (also in standard sizes, and fitmesh for Belleza and Slink), and standard size shorts.  This is available for FREE at Punk JUSTUS right now!

I knew I had some sandals to match.  And nail polish as well 🙂
