Elena

This is the standout dress from SLB19 today (actually, I shopped yesterday)!  I’ve now done thirteen of the twenty sims that make up the shopping event.

I don’t think I’ve mentioned yet that the theme for the celebration is “steampunk”.  This genre holds no massive appeal for me (although I appreciate some of the decorations that people dream up for it, for example the steampunk sim at the Sci Fi Con recently).  This might be the reason that I’m not noticing so many clothes as gifts… there are not a lot of people creating clothes for steampunk?

This wonderful lacy dress is available to fit Lara, Lara Petite, Legacy, Legacy Perky, and Reborn.  It comes with a multi color HUD to allowing you to choose the color for the main dress and the accents and belt separately.

Hello sweets!  I’ve unfortunately been caught up in RL over the last couple of days and have missed posting something from SLB19.  But here we go!  I’ve now looked at nine sims, only eleven to go!

This gift dress from Alter was the standout for me today.  It’s pretty boho styling is available to fit Lara, Freya, Hourglass, Legacy, and Kupra Bimbo.

Claire

The outstanding gift from my shopping escapade at SLB19 today is this corset top and skirt from Blackstone, a new store to me.

The top and skirt are separates, and both fit Lara, Legacy, and Kupra.  A HUD with fifteen color choices for the fabric and four color choices for the metal is included too.  The texture details are very nice!

SLB19 Shop & Hop

The Shop and Hop event for SL’s 19th Birthday celebrations is open today!  There are twenty sims and a lot of creators present!  I’ve read that there are about 400 creators attending the event, and most of them are stocking at least one FREE gift for everyone!

I suspect my best plan will be to do some of the sims each day, so I looked at three today, and these two bikinis from different designers where the standout gifts.

The top, bottoms, and sarong of this bikini are separates.  All three pieces are sized to fit Lara, Lara Petite, Legacy, Legacy Perky, Reborn, Kupra, Kupra Kups, Hourglass, Isis, and Freya.  The detailing and fit is excellent as you’d expect from a huge creator like Lepointe and Bastchild.

A nice feature of the delivery HUD is just unpack the outfits for the bodies you want, instead of unpacking it all and then deleting what you don’t need.

And I found this surprisingly similar bikini from Tori’s Stylez, a far smaller operation that L&B, but the attention to detail is just as good!

For this one, the top and bottoms are one piece and the sarong is separate.  There are sizes to fit Lara, Lara Petite, Legacy, Legacy Perky, Kupra, and Freya.   It comes with a HUD with three color choices for the bikini and wrap.

Summer Festival Vibes

Alaska Metro and The Free Dove have teamed up for this month’s in-store hunt!  There are ten items to find, five at The Free Dove, and five at Alaska Metro’s store.  You’ll need to join the FREE group at The Free Dove to get the hunt items.

Here’s the poster…

The Annika lingerie is on system layers (separate top and bottom, and combined on tattoo layers) which looks great on BoM enabled bodies like Lara.  For convenience, it also comes with an Omega applier.  It comes in brown as well as this white.  And the Misty coverup fits Lara, Legacy, and a standard medium, and as well as the while I’m showing you, also comes in a dark brown and pink floral pattern.

There are eight other items I’m not showing you, so you should rush off to the stores and find the items for yourselves!

Womenstuff Hunt in on

The Womenstuff Hunt is on at the moment, and I’m a little late to the party as it began five days ago!  However, it runs until the end of the month, so you have a ton of time to find all the FREE hunt items.

This necklace from Amias really caught my eye.  It’s simple, but it’s size (especially on my smaller avatar) really makes a statement.  It’s rigged for Lara and Legacy, and there is an unrigged version with a resizer script included as well.

Edit: I didn’t realize you must be in the group to get the HUD, and it’s L$50 to join.  It appears that the organizer has deliberately withheld a list of SLurls from places like huntsl.com, forcing you to join the group.  I’d be willing to buy the HUD for L$50 (maybe, if I could see what is available to find), but organizing a group slot, and paying money and then leaving the group… blah.  I wonder how visitor numbers to participating stores will be this year compared to last year, when this was totally free?

This month’s MIIX event

This month’s MIIX event is open, and it runs through until the 20th.  There are a couple of creators offering gifts and to get them, you just need to join the MIIX event group for FREE!

This bodysuit could also be worn as a swimsuit.  It’s sized to fit Lara, Legacy, and Legacy Perky and in addition to the black, it also comes in pink.  As a bonus, it’s tight fitting enough so that you can probably wear a pair of jeans over it, if you’re like me and like that look 🙂

BF Telescope Dome

This year at the Sci Fi Con, I’ve finally released the clam shell telescope dome I’ve promised for so long.  I originally modeled this over four years ago, and while the model worked and I have it in SL, I was never happy with its look, the pivot plates for the shells were far too clunky.

So, about two years ago, I remodeled it and I was much happier with its look, so I went to upload it on the beta grid… and I couldn’t log in!  A little research found that the beta grid had not worked since the AWS uplift project.  So, I shelved the project waiting for the beta grid be fixed…

Only a couple of weeks ago, I remembered that I still hadn’t uploaded this, and I wanted it for this Con… and couldn’t find the Blender model!  A mad search ensued, including searching my backup archives and after about an hour, I realized that it might be on an old USB stick I’d replaced.  After another 10 minutes of searching drawers (I never throw out USBs, they end up in the bit bucket drawer) I found the file!

Here’s the closed dome in my garden at home.

The dome is 100% mesh and weighs in at 8 land impact, sized to hold either of the BF telescopes.  It has a hatch, purely for decorative purposes (although I might make it avatar-usable at some stage) which will open on touch, and the shells will open on the second touch.

The shells will also open and close on telescope start and stop, which is appropriate for the carbon truss scope.  However, if you open the dome manually, the dome will ignore telescope start and stop, which makes sense for the Newtonian.  Like other components of the telescope systems, it contains a modifiable notecard to set a channel if you wish to group a number of telescopes and domes together.  Just make sure the channel notecards in each group agrees.

You can see and test the dome at my in-world store, at my booth at the 14th Sci Fi Con, or on the marketplace.

Now for the sugar 🙂  If you purchased either the BF Telescope of the BF Carbon Truss Telescope before the start of the Sci Fi Con (before midnight the 17th of May 2022) and you decide to purchase a dome, send me a notecard with your login name and the transaction detail of your dome purchase, and I’ll give send you a 50% refund!

As with all my products, there’s a lifetime FREE update promise, and be certain to contact me via any of the support methods if you have an issue.

Sci Fi Con sneak peek

Being an exhibitor, I get early access to the Sci Fi Con to set up, which gives me an opportunity to run around and do some photos (seeing today is press day)!

Here are a few vistas that caught my eye from walking around the nine sims.  Hopefully these will perk your interest to pay a visit to the event, and support SL Relay For Life while you’re at it!
