Fantasy Faire 2018 — Silvan Moon Designs’ Windsor Palace

So, first let me apologise: I had taken pics for two of Silvan Moon Designs‘ Fantasy Faire gowns several weeks apart (yes, I got advanced copies for blogging) and had no idea that I’d used the same hair and jewelry for each.  I really hate doing that, particularly for posts that are within a few days of each other.  That said, I loved how they worked for each gown, and I certainly wasn’t going to go back and re-shoot with something that worked less well!

That said, Solas and Bee present the Windsor Palace Gown for the Fantasy Faire 2018.  And where else should we take pics?  Why in Buckingham Palace, of course!

A word about the lovely Leah jewelry set from *AvaWay*.  The full set includes bracelets as well (not worn in this outfit) and an incredible texture-change hud that allows you five choices of metal colour and eight choices of gem colour, as well as the ability to change the texture of half of the gems independently of the other half.   It’s lacey teardrop motif is a perfect match to Windsor Palace.

Fantasy Faire 2018 — Spyralle’s Timeless Folly

Some big things are afoot at Fantasy Faire 2018, including a beautiful little architectural marvel by Spyralle.  Fans of Spyralle will know that Kerryth creates not only dresses and jewelry but other knick-knacks and decorations as well.  She’s created two lovely pieces for the Fantasy Faire, the first of which I’m showing you this morning.

I really love the little accents that make this a Spyralle special.  The most obvious is the fractal-decorated glass vaulted ceiling.  If you have full lighting effects on (shadows, in particular), that ceiling makes a gorgeous shadow below.

Timeless Folly has a beautiful sense of grandeur and scale…. with lovely little accents.   As rezzed, it has a default LI of 21.  Resizing will adjust LI accordingly, but be wary – adjusting the size back and forth can play silly games with LI and mesh — I had a small cute version at 4 LI, then resized to about half-default height — and ended up at 30!   That’s okay, it’s copy, so re-rez and start again!

Fantasy Faire 2018 — Silvan Moon Design’s Moonstone

The 2018 Fantasy Faire is here, and there are SOOO many goodies to share with you over the next week! Let’s start with this beautiful one from Silvan Moon Designs!  Moonstone may be my favourite gown out of SMD in quite a while — and that’s saying something!

Moonstone comes in three pieces – skirt, top/overskirt, and sleeves.  The mesh and texturing on each is lovely.

So, I feel kind of bad that I didn’t shoot the other amazing colours for this post, but you’ll just have to stop by Fantasy Faire 2018 and take a look for yourself.  Bee and Solas have a whole LOT of beautiful goodies for you at the Faire, and I’ll show you a few more over the next week.  But don’t dawdle — the Faire won’t last forever.  Ten short days, and it will be but a memory.

Little black opalescence

Let’s make it abundantly clear: Autism Spectrum Disorder needs medical attention, and NO, there is ZERO evidence that vaccinations have anything to do with it.  Don’t be stupid, get vaccinated, and get your kids vaccinated.  While some people have been wasting time and resources on ridiculous conspiracy theories that have been repeatedly disproven, the real scientists are out there working to find out what does lead to autism.  Please help contribute to that research today.

So I’ve been really excited about a new hair find.  I’ve heard a bit of feedback from some of the places that I blog for (and some that I used to blog for) that my flexi hair is sooooo years-ago — that it’s so dated.  It’s a bit frustrating, as finding curly hair in all-mesh is very difficult.  It’s true that taking good pics of flexi hair is a challenge due to lighting and focusing issues, but it’s hard to pretend to be straight when you’re not!

So that said, I was very excited to find Athena at Truth Hair.  It’s a very close match for my go-to in-world hair, Analog Dog’s Annie.  Athena a VIP gift from Truth, so you’ll have to join the group to purchase it, but it’s quite the find.  It features a styling hud that allows you to add/remove whispeys (or as my friend’s daughter calls them, “Einsteins”).   You can even braid back the right-hand side… which is just right for an asymmetric statement.  🙂

The hunt isn’t too difficult, although knowledge of the sim will help — and the goodies are well worth the 100L that you’ll spend in acquiring them!  Stop by Witchwood and explore the beautiful sim that Melora and her crew have put together.

Light as a sparrow

She woke early, as was her want, and stepped out through the early morning fog.  The smell of the spring was all about her, moist and earthy, the morning air chill, but she could feel the warmth that would come later in the day.

Sparrow Lightheart is available in eight lovely colours, and comes with applier tights for a less formal look.

Spring was finally coming… perhaps the cold would return in a day or two, or in a week… but it will not last, she could hear the life in the forest returning.

Bohemian Inspiration

Aloha, my lovely friends!  I was visiting the latest round of Inspiration and found this wonderful maxiskirt and top from ***ArisArisB&W that I just had to share with you!

Rhapsody features maxi skirt and top separates with a six-texture HUD.  The textures may be chosen independently, so you can take matching top & bottom or different to suit your mood and tastes!

Rhapsody comes in fitmesh for both SLink bodies, Maitreya Lara, all three Belleza, TMP, and both Tonic bodies, so it’s sure to fit you!

Normally I’m not a huge fan of mesh maxiskirts in-world — they generally just don’t dance well — but this one is gorgeous, and ***ArisArisB&W did a fantastic job with the mesh: it dances pretty nicely, provided you don’t kick your legs up too high!

Witchwood

So much happiness to share!  Petite Mort and Oubliette have moved to a new sim, Witchwood!  It’s a good opportunity to show you some lovely acquisitions I picked up from Petite Mort, the Royal Starlite sweater and the Burnout Velvet Skirt.

Both the Royal Starlight outfit and the Burnout Velvet skirt are slightly older releases.  They feature fitmesh for both SLink bodies and the Maitreya Lara.  Royal Starlight comes with a lovely little matching skirt, but I really liked how the top goes with the longer Burnout Velvet skirt.

Melora has created quite the beautiful little shopping experience at Witchwood.  There are many little scenes (like this one) that are perfect for taking pictures.  It’s really nicely done, stop by and have a look around.

Reflections

I am so excited to share the latest offering from Nickki at  Island Style Designs with you!  Nickki has created a gorgeous swimsuit and pareo combo with a fantastic shiny metallic texture.

In the daylight, it looks like this: (note: advanced lighting and materials must be enabled!)

The outfit is fitmesh, and comes rigged for Maitreya, both SLink, all three Belleza bodies, both EVE bodies, TMP, and Altamura.    The strapless suit features some lovely pink lacing in the back, and a subtle green/red/yellow shading for the floral pattern.

Where this suit and pareo really shine (so to speak) is in the dark with some interesting lighting effects.  I waded into the water with my pareo still on, and added a little extra lighting to make the suit really shine.  You can see the lights really reflected in the suit.

I really loved the pareo, but did finally take it off to just show the suit on its own.   It’s somewhat lower cut at the hips, giving a lovely slightly retro feel and look.

We’ve seen body-specific fitmesh explode into SL, and while there has been a lot of materials-enabled textures, we haven’t seen lots of reflective clothing.  This is gorgeous, and is sure to be an attention-getter at parties.
