Fantasy Faire 2019: Aetheria

I hope you’re not tired of hearing about Fantasy Faire 2019 yet, because… it’s going to be a long two weeks here otherwise.

She walked to the edge of the pool, feeling the cool water over her tired feet, soaking the hem of her gown.  The responsibilities of the Court retreating for just a while as the peace of the pool soaks her soul.

Solas and Bee at Silvan Moon Designs present Aetheria, a beautifully detailed gown for Fantasy Faire.  It comes in fitmesh for Maitreya and SLink bodies, and is available in three colour choices.

AiShA offers these wonderful Kraken bracelet rings for the Faire.  I really love interesting arm and hand jewelry, and this suits just fine.  I suspect if you’re a Game of Thrones fan it might have other significance, but it would also look right at home for your mermaid to be wearing these lovely he’e.

There are so many wonderful things at Fantasy Faire, and every one helps contribute to the fight against cancer.  With 16 sims, you can always get in somewhere and have a look around.  Fantasy Faire 2019 is only here until May 5, and there is SO MUCH to see.

Fantasy Faire 2019: Violet Pixie

Go big or stay home.

But it’s okay to feel small, too.

In fair warning, this is my full-sized avi with a Maitreya body, and the lovely Ademe Warrior outfit from Roped Passions is Maitreya fitmesh: it’s just the lovely scenery at Fantasy Faire 2019 that makes makes me teeny.

The Ethereal wings from Lunaria are unscripted, but have a gentle flexi-like motion as you move.  They’re not flight wings, but they’re great for wearing in high-lag areas… or anytime you just want to look wonderful.

I left off jewelry with this outfit, but augmented instead with the beautiful Hope tattoo from Stardust, exclusive for the Fantasy Faire: when the Faire is over, this lovely adornment will be gone!

Come Home to Fantasy Faire 2019

Welina mai kākou!  Hello my friends!

The streets are yet empty, the marketplaces a whisper… the breeze swirls over the open fields, ribbons fluttering lightly.  All of the preparations have been made, the lands have been made ready.  The 2019 Fantasy Faire to support the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer is upon us!

Today, no clothes, no jewelry, nothing to buy… i just want you to take a moment and see.

Fantasy Faire is perhaps the most amazing event in all of Second Life to me.  It’s a shopping event, sure — ten sims full of shops and kiosks and markets.  There will be treasures to find, exclusives that you may never see again.  There will be new creators to discover, there will be old favourites to visit.

There will be music and dancing.  There will be gatherings and laughter and special events to keep you busy each moment.  There are six sims just to experience — full of art, full of scenery, some of the finest exhibitions of SL creators.

But stop for now, and take a look around you.  All of this was created for this brief moment in time.  Worlds of details in every square metre… a world just for this, just for us, just for now.

These streets will not be empty for long.  Everyone I have talked to in these moments before the Faire opens has been so very excited to show you all that they have created.  Come, see, enjoy.  Share the beauty that you will find at the Fantasy Faire.  Life is short, and the Faire is but a moment.  Come, dance, shop, laugh, live…. be a part of this wonderful experience.

Fantasy Faire 2019 is open now.  Come, join us, and fill the streets with joy and song, and fill the American Cancer Society and all those who are touched by this disease with hope.

Mahalo nui!  A hui hou kākou!

Prowl

She walked with a feline grace, and a sense of purpose, barely contained, hunting….

I came across this lovely strappy… minidress, I think, at We Love Role Play this month.  Midgar II is from Sasheba’s Closet, and comes with a lovely texture hud with ___ options.  I may not be exactly sure what it is, but I like it!  It has wonderful strappy detail, and is rather … cheeky.

Midgar II has a lovely slightly-dystopian feel to it that seems right at home for a huntress in the city streets.  Perhaps you might pair it with a few pistols… or a couple of long knives.  I have slightly different weapons in mind, though.

It was close, so close she could smell it in the air… she was closing in, there would be no escape this time.

She followed the scent of her prey until she found it in along the market street, bathed in neon light, waiting for her.  She licked her lips in anticipation…

… the dim sum would finally be hers.

Twenty seconds into the future

Weekends are for shopping, spending some time on a lazy Sunday morning, wandering about events with good friends and family, enjoying a beautiful day… sometimes it’s the old familiar places, sometimes it’s new new locales with dazzling scenery and decoration.  Later on I’ll look over a few new treasures, and see how they speak to me, what story they tell me when I find a place to take some new pics to share.

We wandered about the NeoJapan event last weekend, and I got the chance to stop by Insilico for a few pics.  Tomoe is a beautiful little kimono from EXiA, complete with gloves and armbands, and it definitely feels to be appropriate for NeoJapan — that exciting cross between old-world culture and a view of a cyberpunk future, perhaps.

EXiA also has boots and a brace of kunai to strap to your thigh available for separate purchase.  The high boots are lovely, high-heeled with straps and an open toe.  Open-toe high boots are not exactly my style, but I found something that suited me even better.  Jazabelle Boutique has a lovely new outfit called Crimson Dragon, and includes black boots with a red dragon motif that is just the purrrrrrfect coomplement for Tomoe’s  kimono.

You know, there was an old television programme that I’ve caught on the youtubes… you may have heard of Max Headroom?  There was this wonderful little tagline that I recall printed on the bottom of the screen like a closed-caption statement at the beginning of each episode, setting the stage: “Twenty seconds into the future.”  That stuck with me, even though I never watched more than a couple episodes of the programme.

Twenty seconds into the future.  Near enough to be here… just distant enough to not be right now.

Exia’s Tomoe is perfect for that moment — twenty seconds into the future.

At the mercy of the night

The cool clammy taste of the foggy night, the pool of hazy golden light about the gas lamp at the street corner.  Every nerve is alive, every sound sends a little shiver up your back.  Best not go out alone….

Silvan Moon Designs offers their latest exclusive for We Love Role Play, the lovely Mercy Maxwell.

The remarkable chapeau is just perfect for this outfit, and can be pretty easily adjusted for a reasonable choice of mesh hair.

Bee and Solas have a remarkable partnership, and keep producing the most wonderful role-play pieces.  Mercy Maxwell is right at home on a Victorian city street or at a steampunk event.  It’s available at We Love Role Play through the month of April.  Stop by and pick up a demo!

Pandora

The March edition of We Love Role Play is underway, and Solas and Bee at Silvan Moon Designs present the lovely Pandora gown in two-piece fitmesh.  I promise, I’m not here to open up a box of troubles!

The asymmetric sleeve design is definitely something different.  I like it, but I also think that it benefits from some not-insignificant arm jewelry.  I’m wearing Calliope from EarthStones here — a simple and classy look — but I think that you could get away with a more significant/bold armlet/bracer type of piece.

The leafy flowery detail on Pandora is really just incredible.  EarthStones’ Nature’s Splendour jewelry set (necklace and earrings) complements the gown as if it were made for it.  I’d love an armlet fashioned as a gold-vined leaf in the same theme as Nature’s Splendour.

Please stop by We Love Role Play and check out Pandora!  Mahalo!  A hui hou!

waiting for spring

I’ve had a bit of a bad habit lately of indulging in some wonderful fantasy skins, perhaps it’s an effort to lose myself from all the cold winter that so many of us find ourselves in!

Alia Baroque at Fallen Gods is feeling our need for Spring, and has four beautiful skins and associated tattoos at the Summoning Spring event that are just perfect to draw you back to life, to growing things!

I have to let the skin and tattoo speak for themselves… remove the lovely Daphne dress from The Muses, and just… be bare.  The Fleurs tattoo layer has several different variations for male and female avatars and various stages of… revelation.  I chose something slightly more discrete for these pics, but you may choose to bare more.

TheWood Nymph skins come in four varieties.  I’m showing the Spring skin, with a light and lively hint of green against the feeling of new bark saplings…. through the season the bark/skin tone grows a bit darker/browner and the green becomes darker, to a mossy autumn skin… finally a winter-grey bark colour.  Each is absolutely beautiful.

The Summoning Spring event is a small simple affair, but has a number of nice treasures.  The faire is only around until March 13, and I fear winter here may last a bit longer than that!  Fortunately, the spirit of life and hope that we carry with us comes from this wonderful place within us.

The Muses Holiday Gown

The Muses always makes the most beautifully textured gowns, and the recent Holiday gown is no exception. They are always shaped very nicely and dance decently (which is always an issue with mesh dresses).

Holiday comes in five colors, and is available at the We <3 Roleplay event (which is where The Muses seems to sell all their products). At this round of Roleplay, Holiday is right inside the doorway of their section, which is one of the ancillary rooms leading off the main event floor.

The texture details are superb, with rows of buttons up the front and the back of the bodice, nice poofy shoulders, and lacey designs on the sleeves and front dress panel. The dress is one-size-fits all mesh, meaning you have to alpha out pretty much everything on your body.

And of course I had to add some fairy wings into the mix!

  • Dress: Holiday by The Muses (at We <3 Roleplay)
  • Wings: from Whispy Fairy by Enchanted Dreams  (Marketplace link)
  • Wreath: Arianwen Wreath by Evie’s Closet  (Marketplace link)
  • Jewelry: Magic Necklace by Swallow; BoHoStyle Hand Jewelry by SilveryK
  • Hair: Misaki by Agrace (no longer available)

I think it’s a good time for a little fantasy, what do you say? Cheers!

A light against the darkness

February can be cold and long, but the Medievel Fantasy Faire is a shining light in the winter months, and Scarlet Fey has a beautiful fitmesh gown for Maitreya Lara to keep you warm and bright.

Phoenix Rising from Earthstones was the perfect complement to Elven Aurora‘s detailing.

Scarlet Fey incorporated a surprise in the Elven Aurora gown: the detailing very gently progresses through successive red/orange/yellow shading.  If the animation were quick, it would come across as a cheap gimmick, I think, but it’s slow and subtle and quite lovely.  You really need to stop by the Scarlet Fey booth at MFF to see the demo there to appreciate the effect!
