With a spirit of eagles

Aloha kākou!  Hello, everyone, I wanted to share this lovely headdress with you from Spyralle.  Eagle of the Forest is a new release that is available now.  It’s resizable mesh in two pieces: the ‘wings’ on either side of the head, and the face frontpiece.  They’re each individually resizable and the frontpiece and main headdress are positioned separately to fit you just right.  If that’s not enough, the headdress comes with a six-texture HUD to retexture the circle features on either side.

I matched Eagle of the Forest with Owl Moon, an older gown from Spyralle.  I know, I know, everyone is doing fitmesh these days, but Owl Moon is lovely, and fits me pretty nicely, and it looks soooo good with Eagle of the Forest.

I always like mixing and matching, but I fear I may have added one more piece from Spyralle — the Emerald Waves necklace.  It’s a larger piece, and I don’t have a lot of things that I can wear it with, but the large décolletage of Owl Moon gives it just the right framing.

I really liked the look of the full headdress, but you might try it without the frontpiece for a more… regal and less ‘shaman’ kind of look.  You can find it featured at the Spyralle Shop at Mauna Waipio.  And if you’re in the mood to shop, to take a look at Spyralle’s booth at the Mystical Market, where you’ll find a number of lovely treasures.

A moment of bliss

Aloha kakahiaka!  Hau’oli Pō‘akahi!  I have a lovely little hunt prize from the Boho Bliss hunt currently going on at Witchwood, the home of Petite Mort and Oubliette.  The hunt has 10 lovely prizes, and this cute little dress is one of my favourites!

The dress comes in fitmesh sizes for Maitreya, SLink, and Belleza bodies.  I paired it with some cute clunky boots from a G. Field gifty a few years back, and accentuated with jewelry from Earthstones and Pixel Box.  There are nine more lovely gifts, at least one of which I’ll share in a future post.  OH!  And there is a 50% off sale going on at both Oubliette and Petite Mort for the duration!  Come on by and find some dark and eclectic treasures for your wardrobe.

A winterfae

It’s past Christmas, and perhaps many lights have faded… the winter is long and dark yet before the spring comes….
but there is light in the deep wood, if you are quiet… and patient.

There is magic that sparkles in the snow.

As I roam about SL, and SHOP!  I sometimes find wonderful little things that are JUST PERFECT and I know exactly what to do with them.

And sometimes I find things that are just perfect… but I know they need something… to make them sing, to make them truly come alive.  I love those maybe the most — the mix-and-match, the outfit, the look that is truly one-of-a-kind, because no one else thought to put those things together

I’d been playing with the beautiful Opal Ice skin from Fallen Gods for months, and I’ve had the Snowflakes outfit from Caverna Obscura for a couple of years.

It was truly the beautiful Lightbringer antlers from Spyralle that made me know I had the look I wanted.  They include a HUD to set the jewel/light colours at the tips of the antlers, as well as options with or without the headpiece and headpiece texture.  I couldn’t resist the opal, it goes so well with the skin.  Add to that a beautiful body shimmer from Stargazer, and.. presto.

Now, a quick word about Stargazer Creations: while they have a Marketplace store, it’s empty — and the listed in-world location is a sim that no longer exists.  That said, Stargazer has booths at many of the events that I frequent, and have some remarkable things there.  I’ll update this if I find a new in-world location, but you just need to keep your eyes out!  Stargazer uses Omega Evolved appliers, but includes a Maitreya applier, too.  I think it works really well, but try out their demo, and use proper lighting!  You might try contacting the owner, Aggie Mactavish, to find out more.

Clearly I couldn’t choose just one or two pics.  This is a new favourite…. and it has me almost wishing the snow stays for weeks and weeks and weeks.

Almost.  🙂

Guardians of the Wood

Happy Winter, everyone!    I love this time of year — cold and snow are SO much easier to deal with in SL than they are in RL!  But even in RL, there is so much magic in the snow and in the seasonal lights.  It’s a beautiful time!

I came across this wonderful set of Winter Guardians from Spyralle at the Winter’s Hollow event, and they are just the perfect happy touch to your parcel, your sim, your little corner of Winter.  There are four of them, and they’re resizeable to fit your space.  Each is from one to two LI depending on the size.

The Winter Guardians are soooo much fun!  They’re a wonderful touch to your little piece of winter.  You can find the Guardians at Winter’s Hollow, going on now!

My coat here is the lovely Rachel coat from EXiA from last year, you can find the details here!

Across the Ecliptic

Aloha kākou!  I hope everyone is ready for a happy and relaxing weekend! I apologise, we probably should have seasonal posts here this time of year, but I had picked up this lovely dress from Spyralle and I really wanted to share it with you.

Kerryth’s Astera comes in twelve beautiful patterns, one named for each of 12 of the 13 constellations of the Zodiac (poor Ophiuchus always gets slighted by the astrologers, but we astronomers remember).  This is Virgo, beautiful in blues, greens and violets.

I’ve added some beautiful feathery earrings from Zaara.  Actually, I’m wearing both feathered earrings and ear cuffs, but they work so well together.  I’ve had these for a while, but with my big curly hair that I’m usually wearing, they kind of… vanish.  They suit Astera very well!

I hope you may find time to pause and breathe.  Sure, maybe for the season, but maybe just because you need it.  I know that do!  Have a wonderful weekend, my friends!

Nebula Rave

Blue hosted her weekly set (Fridays at 15:00-17:00  SLT) at Sisters of Eden yesterday, and the theme was Rave in a Cave — and I threw a few pieces together…. and was the shiniest — and most complex — dancer on the floor.  Too good to pass up, I had to share it with you!

I’ve mixed and matched a few pieces here!  Skin and neon paint body tattoo are from Fallen Gods — the Lumina (Eclipse) skin combined with the HOLI Phalgun Purnima tattoo.

The dress is a daring little number from r2 A/D/E: the Shou (liquid purple) minidress.  There are boots, too, but I felt best shoeless for this party.

Perhaps the most amazing part of this outfit is the Starry Nebula (Half Spectrum Dark) from Tai’Dyed.  It’s this wonderful collection of mostly translucent flexis with embedded stars in different colours.  There are a TONNE of pieces to choose from that attach to different points on your body.  You can’t wear them all, you only get 38 attachments total!  And your complexity will be astronomical — I think I was north of 400,000.  But OMG it’s so much fun and so swirly!  You can’t really get a good feel for this without a video.

We lost Tai this past fall unexpectedly, but her shop is still open at the Spyralle sim at Mauna Waipio.  There’s a wonderful little memorial to Tai there as well, please stop by and pay your respects.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, my friends!  Be a source of light and colour to those around you… and most especially to yourself!

Aloha!  A hui hou kākou!

Winter is Coming

The onset of Winter is a wonderful time to me, and sometimes the magic swirls around like falling leaves and snowflakes.  Kerryth at Spyralle introduced a new pattern for her Silvia dress, and offered a beautiful leafy headpiece that matches perfectly.  This looked beautiful enough in my “usual” Quinn Perle skin from Oceane Body Design , but when I tried the Opal Ice skin from Fallen Gods, something really shiny began to take place.

This outfit was just a joy to put together, and there’s just so much here to share with you.  I found the beautiful dress and headpiece from Spyralle on a recent trip, then kept finding the perfect things to put together with the outfit.  The Nature’s Splendour jewelry from EarthStones was just perfect to carry the maple leaf theme, and the HUD let me select some blue and opalescent textures that carry the theme of the dress, the headdress, and the skin.  On top of that, while wandering around Enchantment, I came across the perfect face paint / facial tattoo from Nefekalum Tattoos — the beautiful blue maple leafs!  It is almost as if this was destined.

Add in the Silvan Boots from [QE]Designs, and the Arboreal wings from Vaengi, and presto… .the perfect little fae for the season.

If you’re like me, there’s a lot of chaos to take place before the December holidays.. and those December holidays themselves take on many different forms.  But I think that nearly all of them carry the same message — a time of peace, a time of joy, a time of family and friends.  I hope that even in the chaos that you may all carry that joy with you throughout the next month.

Have a wonderfully happy week, my friends!  A hui hou kākou!

Aloha kākou!  Hello, my friends!  The Snow Queen awaits you at the latest round of Enchantment, open now until December 2.  I wanted to share the beautiful gown from Silvan Moon Designs, Crystallis.

I usually shy away from pinks and corals — they often clash with my ginger — but I saw Bee’s colours in the Amaryllis style for Crystallis and I just fell in love.  I feel like I’m dressed in the sunset.

  • <K&S> — Loveliness #4 pose

I don’t get enough opportunity to wear the Springleaf necklace from Empyrean Forge — it’s a large piece, and definitely requires a strapless gown — or at least a broad expanse of chest — so that it’s not crowded.  It works perfectly with the Crystallis gown.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend!  If you are able, recharge, rejuvenate, refill with peace and strength for the week ahead.  If you are not able, find some time to breathe and take in a little peace…  and that rejuvenation time will come.

Aloha kākou!  Happy Friday, everyone!  I was thinking about going out dancing tonight, so I thought I’d share a wonderful little outfit and skin with you!  The outfit is a little mix-and-match from R2 Fashion A/D/E, and the Psy skin is from Fallen Gods.

  • <K&S> — Loveliness #3 pose

I’m always amazed at what the creators in SL can do with textures and materials these days.  The shine on the R2 outfits is incredible — from the metallic sheen to the gloss on the transparent bits.

  • StardustSummer Breeze 05 Bento Pose

I really love the Psy series of skins that Alia at Fallen Gods has created.  The electricity/plasma/lightning-y patterns on the dark skin really lend themselves to my creativity.

  • StardustSummer Breeze 03 Bento Pose

Sometimes you just need to dress how you feel…. and sometimes you need to feel how you dress.  So, you know — it’s Friday… time to feel sparkly.

Elphaba’s Magic

Hau’oli lā Heleuī kākou!  Happy Hallowe’en, my wonderful friends!  I hope you won’t mind me sharing a new twist on an old outfit with you today.  This Death Girl dress and hood from G Field is one of my favourites, and I really need to wear it more often.  But when I saw the new emerald Pure skin from Fallen Gods, I knew it was just perfect for a little Elphaba-like twist.  And if you don’t know, yes, Elphaba is the name given to The Wicked Witch of  the West in the Wicked books by Gregory Maguire.

I believe I’ve found my kindred soul… my head may be just as full of straw, but he’s certainly got a friend looking out for him.

There is magic to be unlocked in books….

True magic lies not in casting spells, but in weaving care and protection about all.  E mālama pono kākou!

Let me please apologise to you all, and especially to Blue for being so absent the past two months.  The semester has been beating me up something fierce, but I hope to be a little more active, at least!  I have a couple of goodies waiting for pics, so hopefully I won’t keep making Blue do all the work!

Have a wonderfully happy week, my friends!
