Okay, is it me, or is ‘tenable’ one of those words that you just never hear?  It’s like ‘whelmed’.  In any case, I’m all about Tena, a new top/pants combination from Fi’s Creations!

I really love when manufacturers include multiple texture choices in one, and Fi continues to exceed expectations on that front!  Tena comes in four varieties, each with six texture choices for both pants and top.

Each quadrant above is a separate outfit, with Unicolour, Gingham, Stripes, and Retro patterns shown clockwise from the top left.  The green outfit that I’m wearing above is from the unicolour palette, and the purple from the retro.

Pure Goddess

No, not me!  But Bellydance Goddess offers the lovely Pure as a group gift right now.  And it is divine!

Pure comes with both a thong and a hip wrap appliers.  The wrap is definitely its own form of sexy!

Pure comes with Omega appliers for the top, thong and waist wrap, and mesh accoutrements (belt, headpiece, chestpiece, bangles). The mesh belt includes the silks and comes with a resize script, although it can be tricky to fit just right to your hips!  Pure also includes bracelets which are not resizable, unfortunately, and were way too big for this girl.  Fortunately, I had a lovely set of bangles that were perfectly appropriate from the lovely Aditi saree from RaMp, and those together with some anklets from Cazimi rounded out this lovely outfit!

A touch of the orient

I love the serene beauty of the Orient, and Dressed by Lexi brings us a wonderful little special priced just right as a current promotion!  The satiny Narcissus comes in four colours and has just been updated with Omega appliers and repriced for a limited time!

I have to show off this lovely sim.  Japan Momiji is a beautiful little slice of Japan, and the perfect venue to show off this little neg!  I had a thrill of a time wandering around exploring!

After wandering around in my favourite sandals, I made sure to take off my shoes before entering buildings.

Narcissus includes standard layer negligeé and thong with Omega appliers available separately, with mesh pieces for ribbons/flowers at the hip, and skirt elements, as well as sticks for your hair.  They’re beautifully detailed!

To be quite honest, I’m sure that Narcissus is not entirely appropriate for wearing in the public, and I hope I did not violate cultural mores.  But it was just me and the sea there this morning, so if you don’t tell, hopefully no one will mind.

I’m so excited to see Lexi re-releasing standard layers as Omega appliers, and I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!

I understand that in Japan, “sayonara” is actually not common, and that among friends it is more common to say “mata ne”.  So, mata ne!  Aloha!

Sleepytime

It’s time for bed… and Fi’s Creations brings us the Hitchhiker’s Pyj, snuggly footie pyjamas for the Hunt for Your Inner Slut 13 hunt!  The hunt runs from January 15 until February 15, just in time for the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre!  I mean, Valentine’s Day.

Yawn, and a big stretch… I think that it’s time to get to bed!

I just don’t sleep well without a bedtime story.  Tonight it’s Verschuur & Kellermann’s “Galactic and Extragalactic Radio Astronomy”, but just the one chapter on masers.  I need to remind myself of a few things.

The pjs are 100% mesh, and come in five standard sizes with an alpha, but work just fine for a masked mesh body.  They’re perfect for a cold winter’s night!

Tantalising 20s

I know it’s just selective memory – or wishful thinking – that makes the roaring twenties seem like such a wild and carefree time, but who can resist the clarion call of the bandstand? The swish of fringe as flappers wound their way through smoke-filled rooms, dancing and flirting?

Dressed by Lexi helps bring those days to life with Tantalize, a beautiful flapper dress newly re-released with Omega appliers!  The dress comes with standard layer upper and lowers, and mesh fringe (which shimmers nicely when you walk or dance) in two sizes, for ‘average’ and ‘curvy’ figures.  To make matters better, Lexi has put Tantalize on special pricing until Thursday, 2016/01/13. The Omega appliers replace the standard layers,  are sold separately for a small (and reasonable) fee. Tantalise is available in six jewel-tone colours, each sold separately.

With or without stockings?  I thought the the lace-top backseam stockings by AviCandy would give it a more racy look – but when I look at the pics without, they almost look more scandalous!

I had a whirl of a time visiting the Chicago Fiume, a little slice of the Chicago 1920s. Stop on by, you never know where you might find a speakeasy down a blind path.  Knock twice, and tell them Aeon sent ya.

I stopped by Dressed by Lexi looking to pick up just the dress and applier, but found the accompanying jewelry set and couldn’t resist! The set contains the necklace, earrings, and two bracelets, and comes with a HUD that includes gems choices to match each of the dress colours.

Tantalize_010My hair here is “Evelyn” by Alli & Ali. This beautiful little cut features a ribbon and sequins (on both front and back) that are hud-driven for a variety of colours for each. You can also set the ribbon and sequins for ‘invisible’. I love to wear it with a pair of goggles up over my forehead for a steampunk outfit as well!

Along the silk road

When you say ‘silks’, most people in SL might think of swishing gauzy pieces of next-to-nothing, but Spyralle brings us the lovely Silk Road, with this lovely Snow Moon colour scheme as a current group gift.  The all-mesh tunic and trousers combination comes in five sizes, and is an update on her older Silk Road line.  Snow Moon is a teaser for an exclusive version of Silk Road sold only at Fair Play this month!   Both of the updated  versions come in male and female fittings.

A silk tunic and trousers may not be the warmest for the winter weather, but the colour scheme seemed perfect for a visit to the winter sim at Two Moon Paradise.

I changed my hair to the shorter ‘Taylor’ cut by Calico for this rear-view, so as to show off the lovely collar detail.

The tunic comes with three lovely texture choices for the detail, all along the same colour scheme.  I can’t figure out which one is my favourite, but such fun to have the choices!  I had to include three snaps here to show them off, I don’t think a pic of the HUD would do them justice!

The Sweetest Kiss

What better for the New Year than an elegant offering from Dressed by Lexi.  Lexi features some of the most amazing gowns that I’ve found in SL, and at fantastic prices.  Today I’ve got Lexi’s January Group Gift to show you, the golden Midnight Kiss.  The dress features a tantalising cutout from shoulder to hip, sliding into a slit up the left leg.  It’s wonderfully sultry!MidnightKiss_004

Midnight Kiss comes in the standard five mesh sizes.  You’ve likely heard me comment before about trying to dance in mesh gowns: they don’t move right, and it’s often painful to watch.  Mind you, I’m not sure what to do in such a gown, typically, other than pose for pictures!  Lexi has solved this by including two prim pieces with this gown, one for each leg. This gives the gown a lovely flowy appearance and feel, and makes it perfect for dancing.

A necklace would have been too much, I think, given the tight strap at the shoulder.  I’ve complemented this outfit with some fire-opal earrings trimmed in gold from Evelock.  I’m typically a fan of blue-green opal, but the fire opal is just right for this gown.

Lexi offers several other shades for this gown, and for the month of January they’re all on reduced pricing.  I’m going to go and take advantage of that, the Sapphire shade is brilliant, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

Winter spirit

It’s a warm winter for many of us, but the cold temperatures sweep in with a shiver, an icy breeze cuts through the night air, revealing Snowflakes by Caverna Obscura.

The Snowflakes ensemble is a bit of an older one: it features the mesh top, wings and flexi skirt as shown, plus a system layer bra and thong and shoes sized for the SL foot.

You’ve seen my necklace before… no fae would turn down the opportunity for a sparkly necklace!  An icy tattoo from [NN] Designs is just the right touch to complete the look.

The spirit of the Islands

Aloha, all!  I decided to take a walk around Oahu, a lovely sim that I found early on in my explorations of Second Life.  Oahu reminds me of some of my favourite places on the islands, so I visit frequently.

Oahu is also, coincidentally, where I discovered Island Style Designs so long ago – Nickki maintains a little satellite shop near one of the beaches.  This gown is one of my little favourites.  The long mesh isn’t optimal for dancing, perhaps, but it’s a lovely comfy dress for going out to dinner, for an evening with friends, or just for a lazy afternoon.  It’s fully mesh, and available in a number of beautiful island patterns.

What is aloha?  It is life, it is love, it is acceptance… I think you have to come here to experience just what it means, but then… you carry it with you, you share it, you spread it throughout your travels, wherever you go.

Nickki at Island Style carries a number of accessories and acoutrements.  The necklace is simple and elegant, and the plumeria blossoms for the hair is a must-have.  Remember, though, to put the blossom on the correct side!

A little shout-out to Calico Ingmann at Calico.   If you’ve been following this blog, you know that I frequently show Calico’s styles.  Calico makes some of my favourite hairstyles, and the best match to my shade!   The Paige hairstyle here is the most wonderful loose french braid.  The shoulder braid is a separate piece fitted to the shoulder to avoid the clunky rigid rotation when I turn my head.

Now, if I could just convince Calico to make a version of this with the same loose braid, but flexi and hanging down the back?  I’d be in heaven.

I don’t usually think of myself as a spray-and-pray photographer, although digital photography in RL has made that a very easy way to get good shots (as long as you don’t mind looking through a hundred bad ones to find that one good one).  I do tend to take more than a few shots trying to get the one.  It’s definitely fun to line up the shots, and get them just so.
