Time for the first serious Hallowe’en costume for the year 🙂

This is a complete outfit from ArisArisB&W.  Included is the bodysuit, boots, horns, mask, tail, wings, and pitchfork, and it’s on special in-store for L$99!

The bodysuit is fitted for Lara, Legacy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Hourglass, Physique, and M.B. Classic and M.B. Legacy.  The boots are specific fitmesh for nearly all the same sizes.  The use of materials is excellent, with both bump and spec maps making the clothing really pop and reflect the red sky I’ve used for the lighting (under daylight, the outfit it basically black).

The wings and tail both have static and animated versions.

I also have to mention the hair.  This is really a pose only hairstyle, and it’s meant to be spread out when you’re laying down on your back, but I thought it looked nice and wild for the devil 🙂  You can pick it up for FREE at the FaMESHedX event.

While I was at It’s Gau yesterday, I picked up this FREE gift for members of the Mesh Body Friends group too.  MBF is FREE to join.

This is an older mesh, and sizes are limited to a one-size-fits-all fitmesh, plus the five standard mesh sizes for classic avatars.  The lace is a very pretty touch, and the belt is a really nice added detail!

Here’s a cute gift for members of the teleporthub.com group.  The group is L$10 to join, and gives you access to FREE gifts from creators all over the grid.

The top is fitted for Lara, Freya, Isis, Venus, Hourglass, Physique, plus four fitmesh standard sizes.  The shorts are sized the same with the an additional size for TMP.  The sandals are included and are sized for Slink Flat, Maitreya, Belleza, plus an unrigged version for classic avatars.

I’ve mentioned EEP fleetingly before.  EEP, or the Environmental Enhancement Project, is available in Linden Lab’s Viewer, but is currently only available as a public beta in Firestorm, and is a replacement for the currently Windlight system.  I’ve played around with it a little, but I’m waiting for an official version in Firestorm before I get serious with it (for example, defining a per-parcel day/night cycle).

However, while running it, I was at a friend’s place, and I was struck by how much better normals and lighting reflections look with EEP.  Also, light falloff appears to be much more realistic.  So I took a couple of photos.   You can compare the two below.  The only difference between these two photos was using the beta viewer with EEP, verses using the stable production viewer with Windlight.  All camera settings, graphics card settings, resolution, and so on, remained the same.  Oh, and I “froze” the fire so as not to be distracting 🙂

Take note of the reflections from the fire and the lamps on the floor and the wood to the left, and the more realistic falloff, particularly in the corners of the room.  I’m looking forward to playing with this more when it’s officially merged into Firestorm.

While I was at GeMyles yesterday, I also picked up this dress which is a FREE gift for members of the Maitreya Gifts, Sales & News group.  MGSN is also FREE to join.

This is another full outfit, and includes the top, pants, and heels.  The top is sized for Lara, Hourglass, Physique, Freya, Venus, Isis, eBody Curvy and Classic.  The pants are sized to fit Lara, Freya, Isis, Venus, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy and Fine, fitmesh in four sizes, and standard mesh sizes for classic avatars.  That all seems like a bit of a mishmash, but you should find something to fit you no matter which body you choose to wear.

The heels are included, this time in sizes for Maitreya, Slink, and Belleza.

Also in the package is a thirty two color HUD that changes the leggings and the heels at the same time.  If you want different colors, you’ll have to wear one, then the other to do that.

Here’s a really lovely gift for members of Fabfree.  FabFree is of course, FREE to join.

This double tiered mini dress comes in sizes to fit Hourglass and Physique, with a one-size-fits-all fitmesh version (worn), plus standard mesh sizes for classic avatars.  This is certainly one of the advantages of BoM.  You can wear a system alpha and it will work on your mesh body, and this is exactly what I’m doing with this dress.

The dress also comes with a thirty two color HUD in both plains and an animal print version.  You can change the color of the top, waistband, and skirts separately.

The heels are also included, sized for Slink High.  A matching HUD is included for them as well, with a choice of the same thirty two plain colors as the dress.
