Blueberry 10th Anniversary Sale

In case you’ve been hiding under a rock, Blueberry is celebrating ten years in SL with a store wide 50% off sale and a L$500 gift card for all members, which you can find in the group’s notices!  And a new group gift, which I’ll show you shortly!

With my L$500, I got some shorts, a lace set, and a top, and a jacket!  The sale goes for a few more days, and the crowd is slowly thinning 🙂 I finally managed to get into the FLF sim after only five minutes of trying.

All of the items I’m showing you come in multiple colors, and you can pick up fat or mega packs with bonus colors and patterns too.  With my gift card, I’m sticking to single colors that suit me, and well, a bit of a daring adventure on the yellow lace (it’s mustard-y enough to suit my hair grins).

Let’s tell you the prices first.  The jacket, top, and lace set were all L$125 each, and the shorts were L$100, for L$475.  I’m not sure if I can find anything in Blueberry’s store for L$25 or less, although I might have a search tomorrow!

All these items except the shorts are quite new, and Blueberry is making clothes for a standard set of sizes, and all these are no exception.  They are sized to fit Lara, Lara Petite, Legacy, Legacy Perky, Isis, Freya, Hourglass, and Physique.  Because the shorts are older, they also include a fit for Venus.

The lace set works well with the shorts too, and will also fit under the jacket, and has some nice details  around the buckles, which adds to the realism.

And finally here’s the full lace set.  The yellow is dark enough so that it goes with my hair, so I was daring and bought it 🙂

The jumpsuit is sized to fit Lara and Legacy and the gift includes the matching heels in the same sizes.  Also included is a fifteen color HUD that let’s you texture the jumpsuit, sleeves, buttons and laces, and the heels.  There are duo tones like I’m showing you, and six solid colors.  This is a very nice gift from Blackbird Lace!

A sequined black dress is this month’s group gift from Maai.  Maai’s group is FREE to join.

The dress is very materials enabled and sparkles as you move, reflecting both the lights and environment around you, which makes it look very realistic.  The pack includes a facelight if you want to light the dress up even more (not worn in these photos).

The dress is sized to fit Lara, Lara Petite, Legacy, Legacy Perky, Reborn, and Kupra.  Also included is an alpha, although I didn’t need to use it, and panties on an underwear layer.

I notice my photos haven’t quite captured the strap detail, which includes the back chain and a detailed clasp.  Little features like these are always appreciated and make an outfit stand out from the ordinary!

To my absolute surprise, a reader of the blog, who I’ve never even talked to in-world, sent me a Maitreya gift card the other day.  She sent me a notecard saying that having read my article “What I wear”, she wanted to say “thank you” in some concrete way, and to let me know that she thinks I’m missing out on a more realistic modeling figure, she said I should use the gift card to get the Petite add-on for Lara.  After sending her a huge “thank you!” in return, I went and got the add-on, although with a certain amount of trepidation.

I like how my body looks, I think I’m nicely in proportion, having based myself on photos of a real life model.  I was worried about how I’d look, how I’d change.  I know I change from human to feline, but both my felines have similar proportions to my human form (the snow leopard wears my human shape, it’s all trickery with skin, paws, and head!).  But this, this was a fundamental change to my body image.

But I was surprised again.  After reading the information that comes with Petite, I added it, leaving my shape the same.  The add-on surprisingly changed the shape of my breasts while only slightly changing their size.  If you want larger breasts with the add-on, it’s possible with the sliders, and I upped my normal number to compensate just a bit.  And again I’m surprised that after all this time being in my shape, a fundamental change immediately looked in proportion and well, just right.  This is probably more of a reflection on how well the Maitreya team have modeled and rigged this than my shape!

Over the last couple of days, I’ve been wearing Petite out shopping and while I’m doing the chores that go along with this blog, just to get used to it.  And I think my reader may have been right.  Looking at models in the real world today, despite the welcome inclusion of more representative models that started happening recently, they are, on average, more willowy that the girl I based my shape on way back in 2014.

So, while I’m sure I won’t be making a permanent switch, it’s nice that I now have the option to show you some clothing being made by some of the top designers thanks to a very generous reader!  I went back through my blog, noting down some outfits I’d listed with Petite sizes so I could find something to wear right away.

In case you’re wondering about Petite, it’s an object that you add while wearing Lara.  It automatically hides the bust of the normal Lara body, and as it’s a Maitreya product, the fit is seamless.  It also comes with a replacement HUD, the three Lara layers to suit Petite (tattoo, underwear, and clothing), and a set of lingerie from Addams.

I can’t believe a year has past since I wrote about Cosmo’s 9th anniversary, and here we are at their 10th!
