Midnight Madness (limited!)

Recently there have been a few events based on the Midnight Madness concept.  The most recent featured a number of designers and delivered a limited number of prizes to people, one prize at midnight, and the following the next day at noon.  I was lucky enough to grab this wonderful outfit from Salt & Pepper during the event.

The corsage comes with a HUD allowing you to change the colour of the leaves, flowers, and pearl trim.  And it’s Lara fitmesh 🙂  With the addition of a suitable hair, I’m in Chicago in the 1920s!

New Slink things

If you missed it the other day, Siddean Munro at Slink announced two new foot styles, Kitten and Pointe.  Kitten is midway between Flat and Mid, and Pointe is for pointe ballet shoes.

With this, she has redone and re-released all three other styles, including a redesigned HUD.  A feature of the new HUD (if you buy the two new styles in a promotion I will mention in a sec) is that you can wear one set of feet and change between the styles, similar to how Maitreya feet work.  But this only applies if you opt to buy the two new feet in a pack that includes all five feet.  This currently costs the price of two feet (L$1350) and you get all five!  This offer finishes on April 16th, so be quick if you want to grab it.

For me, I already own the High and Flat versions, and for mids, I use Maitreya.  So for a pair of feet that I would probably only rarely use, I don’t think I will be taking advantage of the offer.  However, for those people that don’t have Slink feet, this is an absolute bargain!

With the new HUD, all the hands styles have also been updated, and the physique body has been updated too.

Another group gift today, this time from BlackRose.  The very generous designer has given us two dresses, with two very different textures.  The one I’m wearing here is the black lace version, and there is also a black floral design included as well.

The group gift from FA Creations this month is this great casual strappy dress in standard mesh sizes.  It comes with a six colour HUD to change the belt colour, and it fits like a dream on my standard small shape with no tweaking yay!

I really wanted to do a post just focusing on makeup, but I was a little frustrated in finding a good pose to show off my fancy fake nails.  So rather than doing a lipstick/eyeshadow post that’s over in one sentence, here’s the full outfit…

I haven’t made the jump to a mesh head as yet (none of them look enough like me, especially the eyes), so I still get to use all my old system layer makeup 🙂

Now, a story about the nails for you: Aeon and I were running around at an event some time ago looking at various things when we came across these nails.  I thought they were pretty amazing and went into raptures over them, but I wasn’t keen enough to buy them on the spot.  I tend to want to go look at things in-store and make sure of prices and so on and so forth.  I’m a pretty picky shopper.

So, while I was distracted with something else, Aeon snuck back to the store and bought them for me (just one of the reasons I love her)!  And herein lies the “be a careful shopper” lesson: the “nails” were in reality a texture set for ZOZ mesh nails, which at the time I didn’t have.  And you can’t blame either of us: the advertisement in the store gave no indication that this was so.  Just a pic of the nails, permissions, a “Slink compatible” indication, and a price.  If I’d visited the store first I would have been familiar with ZOZ and known.  Never mind, as you can see, I ended up getting the nail base, and oh, I do still love the little corset textures on them!

A daring gown today from Paisley Daisy!  I call this my OMG gown as every time I put it on I go “OMG I can’t believe I’m going to wear this out in public” 🙂

It’s a fantastic little thing to nearly wear, and I guarantee you’ll get comments.  The hair I’m wearing goes a long way to help with my ummm embarrassment level too when wearing this gown, as it’s completely sheer at the breast level.

Spring is in full swing and here’s a lovely dress from Pulcino available for free on the Kiyomizu Spring Hunt 2016.  It coming in standard mesh sizings and includes a texture HUD with five pretty spring colours.
