This is a past group gift from Blackbird Lace. Their group is FREE to join.
The pants in this top and pants outfit shows outstanding detail and use of materials. But it’s also tricky to find shoes to fit it as the pants legs are really long and you’re limited to Maitreya High. Both pieces are sized to fit Lara, Hourglass, and Physique.
The outfit includes the dress, boots, and a modesty patch. All three pieces are sized to fit Lara, Freya, Isis, Venus, Hourglass, and Physique. The outfit also includes a HUD to change the color of the dress only (not the lace). You can select from five shades of white to black denim, or from five shades of blue denim.
Here’s a new-to-me group gift from Asteria. I’m not sure when this was first available, although the original seems to have been made for a Cosmopolitan event back in 2016 (!) Asteria is L$100 to join, but does do the occasional free join periods, so keep your eyes open.
The bustier, panties, and corset are separates, as is the matching necklace. The clothes are sized to fit Lara, Legacy, Legacy Perky, Freya, Isis, and Hourglass, and the necklace is unrigged.
There are two colors available as group gifts, this tan that I’m showing you, and a red.
I noted quite a lot of rigging breakthrough while modeling this, including on the bustier’s straps. I haven’t walked around in it at all, so be aware that if you plan on wearing this to a lingerie event, you should probably test it out first, as there’s nothing you can do with Lara’s alphas to correct it.
This is a past group gift from Scandalize. Scandalize is only L$20 to join!
The top, shorts, and sleeves are separates. As with most gifts from Scandalize, this is a fatpack, and it includes multiple HUDs with a myriad of colors (and stripes vs plains) for all three pieces. All pieces are sized for Lara, Legacy, Freya, Isis, and Hourglass.
I enjoy helping keen girls that have just started in SL. One of my standard tricks is to point them at London City (which most of them have already found anyway). There are multiple ways that they can scrounge L$20 at London City, and then join Scandalize. With the FREE from marketplace Ruth mesh body, which fits most clothes made for Lara, you have an instant quality wardrobe!
I don’t often wear tattoos, but this one spoke to me. It’s available as a FREE gift for members of FabFree. It’s available in three shades, solid, half faded, and very faded, and it comes on both system tattoo layers and Omega and Maitreya appliers.
The SL Sci Fi Convention, benefiting SL Relay For Life is still going strong! It runs until the 29th of May, so you still have plenty of time to get over there and check out super cool builds, like this ornithopter, located on the roof of the House Atreides Embassy.
It’s my eighth rez day in SL today, which in case you don’t know, is the anniversary date of your account creation. Inspired by Chic Aeon’s post, here are my stats from last year.
As with Chic, I use my blog to look back, fondly remembering outfits found, parties attended, building accomplishments, friends found and lost.
This is a FREE gift for members of the teleporthub.com group. The group is L$10 to join.
The top, skirt, and belt are all one piece, and the delivery HUD allows you to pick from the following sizes for delivery: Lara, Lara Petite, Freya, Isis, Legacy, Legacy Perky, Hourglass, Kupra, and standard mesh sizes. Having the delivery HUD work like this is a great idea, you don’t have to clean up all the sizes you’ll never wear afterwards!
The outfit also comes with a fatpack HUD that includes sixteen colors for the top, eight colors for the skirt, and eight colors for the belt. You can also choose from one of eight metals for the belt buckle!
Although it’s one piece, this is a really nice gift, and you should run and get it before it disappears!
This year at the Sci Fi Con, I’ve finally released the clam shell telescope dome I’ve promised for so long. I originally modeled this over four years ago, and while the model worked and I have it in SL, I was never happy with its look, the pivot plates for the shells were far too clunky.
So, about two years ago, I remodeled it and I was much happier with its look, so I went to upload it on the beta grid… and I couldn’t log in! A little research found that the beta grid had not worked since the AWS uplift project. So, I shelved the project waiting for the beta grid be fixed…
Only a couple of weeks ago, I remembered that I still hadn’t uploaded this, and I wanted it for this Con… and couldn’t find the Blender model! A mad search ensued, including searching my backup archives and after about an hour, I realized that it might be on an old USB stick I’d replaced. After another 10 minutes of searching drawers (I never throw out USBs, they end up in the bit bucket drawer) I found the file!
Here’s the closed dome in my garden at home.
The dome is 100% mesh and weighs in at 8 land impact, sized to hold either of the BF telescopes. It has a hatch, purely for decorative purposes (although I might make it avatar-usable at some stage) which will open on touch, and the shells will open on the second touch.
The shells will also open and close on telescope start and stop, which is appropriate for the carbon truss scope. However, if you open the dome manually, the dome will ignore telescope start and stop, which makes sense for the Newtonian. Like other components of the telescope systems, it contains a modifiable notecard to set a channel if you wish to group a number of telescopes and domes together. Just make sure the channel notecards in each group agrees.
Now for the sugar 🙂 If you purchased either the BF Telescope of the BF Carbon Truss Telescope before the start of the Sci Fi Con (before midnight the 17th of May 2022) and you decide to purchase a dome, send me a notecard with your login name and the transaction detail of your dome purchase, and I’ll give send you a 50% refund!
As with all my products, there’s a lifetime FREE update promise, and be certain to contact me via any of the support methods if you have an issue.
Being an exhibitor, I get early access to the Sci Fi Con to set up, which gives me an opportunity to run around and do some photos (seeing today is press day)!
Here are a few vistas that caught my eye from walking around the nine sims. Hopefully these will perk your interest to pay a visit to the event, and support SL Relay For Life while you’re at it!
