This lovely dress strangely only comes in a small standard mesh size. Perhaps the creator made it specifically for themselves? However, as I am a standard small, it fits Lara perfectly with a few alphas used.
The dress also displays a really nice use of materials, giving it that beautiful satiny look without going too far. A really lovely looking dress that’s perfect for a garden party!
I found this interesting dress at the Kiyomizu Autumn Hunt 2018, which runs though until the 8th of October.
The dress comes in standard mesh sizes, plus body specific fitmesh for Lara, Freya, Venus, Physique, and Hourglass. As you may have guessed, the sim is Japanese, and not being able to read any, hunting is interesting as you never know what you’re going to get! Fortunately, this is a FREE hunt, so run and have a look, you may be pleasantly surprised at what you find!
Sometimes inspiration strikes from any old place. I was out and about furniture shopping and came across a sign in the store with a picture of a dress I really thought was pretty. I IM’d the store owner to ask what is was and she kindly told me. It was called The Bridal Gown from Dead Dollz, and what particularly appealed to me was the lace overdress. So I bought the dress and took that part and start building around it.
As being all lace it was already see through, and rather revealing at the top, I add a set of flower modesty covers for top and bottom, also from Dead Dollz, which matched the lace overdress pattern nicely. To this I added a set of flexi sleeves from one of my favorite gowns, the Bianca from FlowerDreams.
So let your inspiration soar – be inspired by something in your inventory and start mixing it up with other bits and pieces and see what you can create! Cheers!
It’s really the end of summer. The autumnal equinox has come and gone, and nights are getting longer. Here’s a final summer mix and match for you…
These two pieces were from two separate hunts over the season. Both come in a range of sizes to fit major mesh bodies.
And oh! I forgot the other day was the blog’s birthday! We are three years old, and this year has seen us bring our friend Jaz on board as a blogger. She has done some lovely posts for us over the last couple of months. For three years, we haven’t missed a day, do you believe that? We’ve done over 1170 posts, and there are more to come! I hope we’ve highlighted some outfits that you’ve had fun chasing down and wearing. Happy birthday us!
Here’s another free look for the kemono (at least the kemono specific clothes are free 🙂 )
It’s really interesting that the kemono can fit into a lot of my mesh hairstyles with hardly any modification at all. It turns out that as my human shape was only just a few inches taller that the default kemono shape that came with the busty torso, I hardly had to tweak anything.
Now the free stuff 🙂
The top and jeans are both available on the marketplace for L$0. The top comes only in one size to fit the busty torso, but has both a materials and non-materials (shown) version.
The jeans are super for a freebie! They come with a multitude of sizes including both animal and human legs, and a few other mods I’ve not even heard of yet (hey, this is my third kemono post hehe). The pack also contains a top for multiple torso versions, but it’s sort of bright orange, which doesn’t go really well with my hair, so you get the other top 🙂
The ears are Bento enabled and flick around with a super cute animation, although it does stick, so I wrote a reset script to drop into them to keep the animation going. Contact me if you want a copy. They are really fox ears, but work really well for a feline character. They were also free at an in-world location.
And the eye mods are just fantastic. I’ve been looking for some eyes to replace the standard ones that come with the avi, and these were available on the marketplace, again for L$0. w00t!
The rest of this outfit I had (the hair, the tail, and the whiskers). Of these, only the whiskers were free.
A really quick post for you! This was a win from Artic Storm’s MM board a few days ago!
The dress is in sizes for Lara, TMP, Altamura, Freya, Isis, Venus, Pulpy, Slim, Hourglass, and Physique. It comes with a HUD with six colors for the dress, and the dress is materials enabled as well, with a nice bump map highlighting the embroidery at the front. The lace at the back is, well… wicked.
I came across this lovely net top at the Liaison Collaborative event, and just squeaked it in to the blog – the event is only through the 26th so don’t wait on this one!
I am not generally a fan of the off-the-shoulder look but this one, Aly by Baiastice, just seemed to work really well to me. It comes in 12 colors, with and without the bra, plus a fat pack with four additional colors and the ability to mix and match the bra colors.
Hair Fair is one of my absolute favorite events of the SL year! There lots and lots of new hairstyles to look at, and a lot of the creators are very generous with free (or nearly free) gifties!
Here are photos of nearly all the gift hairstyles available this year. When you go, don’t forget to buy a bandana to support Wigs for Kids, and hopefully you’ll support the creators by grabbing some of their for sale hairstyles too! Specific percentages of each sale also go to Wigs for Kids, so this is a perfect time to update your look and help out a fabulous charity.
Hair Fair 2018 runs from today until the 7th of October. Don’t miss out!
All the hairstyles are available for no more than L$1 at the event. Here’s a list of most of the creator’s stores:
I’m not sure when I’d wear these shorts, but I love the top and sandals!
The top and shorts are separates and come in sizes for Lara, Freya, Isis, Venus, Hourglass, and Physique. There is also a HUD that lets you set the textures for the shorts (six plains), belt (three plains), and top (five plains, and five patterns).
The sandals are for high feet and come with fits for Maitreya, Belleza, and Slink. They’re wonderful looking sandals with fun little tassels attached. I think these will get wears with a few more outfits!
I foresee people coming together to help out those less fortunate. Hey, look at that, I’m right! Don’t call me a Sybil, that’s really just the beautiful new dress that Kerryth at Spyralle has created for Spoonful of Sugar, an event to help support Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) (Doctors Without Borders).

EarthStones — Flight of Fancy necklace and earrings
So I’m always on the prowl for good new hair. Curly hair is rough — there’s lots of mesh hair for straight locks, but my curls are rough to reproduce in-world. Often the hair I wear for walking around in-world is different from what I wear for photos — hair with flexies is rough on photos, but it can sure look good as you dance or walk about in-world. So I was really excited to find Leela from Analog Dog at SoS. It’s not an exclusive there — it’s also at the mainstore — but I believe that the purchases at SoS contribute to MSF, so it’s a good time to buy! Leela is very similar to my go-to hair (Annie, also from Analog Dog) — but it’s a bit longer, with a lovely curl over my right eye. 🙂
Sybil comes in six lovely colours, each in a “glyph” and “plain” version. You might guess which I prefer! I love this dress so much that I might have obtained four of the six available colours!
EarthStones — Mother & Child Turtles necklace and earrings
My friends, have a wonderful weekend. Stop by Spoonful of Sugar, get some lovely things, and help out MSF. The only thing better than finding new treasures is helping others out in the process!
