Hmm, I don’t really know what you call this outfit. It’s like a short short lederhosen inspired romper over a corset 🙂
This was a gift at Monthly Midnight Madness all the way back in February, and I must have missed it unpacking. The outfit is in two separate pieces, and although you could wear the pants by themselves for a naughty look, or with an applier shirt, the corset is shadow mapped to match the pants, so really can’t be worn by itself.
Both pieces are one-size-fits-all fitmesh, and work well on Lara.
Sometimes one needs to look outside the box to get an interesting look. As my followers know, I am fond of mixing and matching components: a top from here, a thong from over there… and soon you have a new, and unique, look that isn’t just bought off the store rack or MP listing.
In this brief entry today let me show you one such outfit. As is often the case for me the spark was one outfit, or more specifically parts of an outfit. Here it was Moon Dancer from May’s Soul, a gacha seller of fun and cute products. I bought most of the parts of Moon Dancer last year but it took some time to see how best to use it, as it was not fit mesh or Maitreya-sized though it can be resized. So I put on my thinking cap.
The Moon Dancer parts I had were a thong, wrist bracelets with little wings, and little shoulder wings. I knew I had a set of blue and white big wings to match, from Ramp’s Rosemary outfit. So I started pulling in more parts: a feather collar from The Forge, along with their Valkryie feathered headpiece. I wasn’t happy with the feathered boots I was finding, so I used another set of those same Valkyrie wings and adapted to my fave Gothic Lolita boots from Candy Kitten. Finally to tie it all together I tossed in the Baika outfit I highlighted last week, from r2 Fashion.
The result is a winged and feathered outfit that is now more than just what each of the parts were. So with a little creative thinking, you can extend the possibilities already in your inventory.

Jaz and I stopped by the latest round of COLABOR88 and found the most wonderful little outfit from Baiastice to share with you before the event closes! Ashley is a beautiful blouse-and-skirt combo that comes in a beautiful host of textures and a few options, too! There are two textures (a solid and a print) in each bag, and opaque/gauzy options for each! Take a look at how the denim skirt shows through that top!
Baiastice — Ashley top and skirt (Maitreya/Physique/Freya/Hourglass/Isis) (exclusively at COLABOR88)
Ashley is technically a single peace, but has menu options to hide or show the belt and the skirt, both of which have their own texture options. Jaz was visiting Las Islas with me for the photoshoot, and decided to show off the top with a pair of Tinker kini bottoms from Blueberry. Now that is a sexy look! Mahalo, Jaz, for posing for me with such patience!
There are a bunch of other lovelies around COLABOR88, you should stop by and see what else you might find — but don’t dawdle, COLABOR88 changes on the 8th of every month!
Second Life always offers little learning experiences. I never knew the formal name for a Cheongsam was “Qipao”. I had to look it up and found this interesting article on Wikipedia.
The collar and closures are carefully modeled and look very authentic.
The dress comes in sizes for Lara, Physique, Hourglass, Freya, and Isis.
This lovely white bodysuit is available on the marketplace for L$25! It comes in sizes for Lara, Freya, Isis, Venus, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP.
Being semi-sheer, you can’t wear any alphas with it, and it does suffer from some clipping in extreme poses, but it’s so cute (and so cheap!) that you should just run out and buy it anyway 🙂
This loincloth styled outfit comes in sizes for Lara, Freya, Isis, Venus, Hourglass, Physique, Curvy, and Fine. It’s all one piece.
It comes with a pretty amazing HUD that has eight textures in muted and bright versions for a total of sixteen. But if that’s not enough, it also has a color picker that lets you tint the outfit to your taste, and it has glow and alpha controls too. I’m not so sure about the glow, but the alpha is great for making it semi-sheer.
The texturing is really nice too, with great use of materials to make the textures really pop.
I was scouting locations for photographs and I come across this lovely Greek island town. As well as the custom mesh that the creator has made for the houses, there’s a more touristy waterfront as well. A really nice place to visit, and very photogenic too.
And what better than to wear in the heat of the day here than this backless floral romper!
The romper is August’s group gift from Powdermoon, and their group is FREE to join.
The romper comes in opaque and sheer versions in standard mesh sizes and fitmesh for Lara, Freya, Isis, Venus, Hourglass, Physique, Curvy, and Fine. The sheer version is not too see-through, you can just see the outline of your body through it, and is the one I’m wearing in the photos.
Having said that, the back, other than being backless, is pretty cheeky 🙂

And no, I know “darkness” is spelled without an ‘e’, but I really love Angie Sage’s Magyk series, and the idea of darke that she describes.
So here’s a lovely little dress from Oubliette to share with you. This was a VIP gift from the spring hunt — so I know, a long time back, but a pretty something to share with you. Oubliette has plenty to help you explore your darke side.

I found this lovely hairstyle from Truth Hair. Farryn is a lovely loose ponytail, and like all of Truth’s lovely mesh hairs, features a wonderful styling hud that allows you your choice of ponytail location, wisps, and bangs.
If you’re not a member of the Witchwood/Petite Mort/Oubliette group, you really should stop by the sim and join up. There are regular hunts and other events taking place, and you sure don’t want to miss out again!
Here we mean R2 Fashion, a clothier with a unique style all their own. R2 specializes in sci fi outfits with a definite sexy bent to them and often with a great deal of, shall we say, “transparency”…
R2’s clothes feature slick metallic textures and curve hugging designs. For the Kagura outfit, I added sleeves from Caverna Obscura’s Wistera Wind outfit.
A bonus with Kagura is this adorable electro-bunny light up tail that gently pulses.
The Kachou outfit swirls around the breasts and adds discreet detailing to cover the important bits. As with all of R2’s ensembles, one buys the individual components, usually consisting of at least separate boots, panties, and tops, and the occasional additional parts such as modesty covers.
And finally, in the Seiga outfit, we see more of the sharply defined futuristic lines combined with some elegant curving sleeves, and the teasing transparency at which R2 excels.
The number of colors for each outfit varies, but is generally anywhere from five to eight colors. Fat packs are also available which may include exclusive colors as well. All of the outfits are for Maitreya Lara only.
While R2 has their own store as linked above, they are also a regular contributor at the Collabor88 event, where the components of the outfits are generally available at a lesser price than when in the normal store inventory.
Look at these fantastic burmuda shorts! I won them on an MM board recently, and as of this writing, they are still available on that board! Grab some friends and register!
The shorts are available in fitmesh sizes for Lara, Physique, Hourglass, Freya, Venus, and Isis. They come with a wonderfully generous HUD that lets you change the denim texture (eight plains and three patterns), the belt (16 patterns), and the belt buckle (silver or gold).
They are absolutely perfect for walking down the beach.
