Have a shiny Aloha Friday!

I shared a beautiful new reflective swimsuit and pareo from Island Style Designs a few weeks ago.  Nickki’s been hard at work, and created new textures for the suit, packaging it with a long sarong and matching shoes, and it’s perfect for your Aloha Friday!

I’m not generally a fan of platforms, but these are perfect with this outfit, having the same metallic texture, so I thought I’d show them off.  They come in sizes for SLink, Maitreya, and TMP feet.

The suit and sarong are sized for Maitreya, SLink Physique, and all three Belleza bodies.  Yay!

This uses the same basic mesh as the Metal Resort Wear from the previous post.  It’s a fairly modest cut at the legs (modest for SL!).  The texture really is quite lovely with advanced lighting and reflections turned on, and has to be seen in action to really be appreciated.  So, take a look at the video!

I took a bit of a selfie here for a friend, but it shows off the beautiful purple agate and silver Sea Turtle jewelry from Luminesse.

I’ve gone dotty!

These super fun stockings with their lacy trims and dots are a group gift from MAAI.  MAAI is FREE to join!

The stockings are for Lara only, and come only in a high pose (you don’t need to wear your feet).  They have a 17 texture HUD with lots and lots of dots 🙂

Baileys Norge

There are some sim builders who just get it right.  I’m always impressed by realism in SL, and Baileys Norge has it in spades.

I only had a short time to take these photos, so I cammed rather than walked to the locations.  I will certainly be going back for a closer look in the coming days.

The attention to detail is really noticeable, including touches like mist over the water.  On our land I wanted a light beam through the trees (aka a “God ray”).  But I didn’t want it static, I wanted it to track the sun (I eventually wrote the script for this after a lot of experimentation, as I was just learning the capabilities of LSL at the time).  Features like the mist on the water make me think things like “How can I script it so the mist appears to burn off when the sun rises?” 😉

Dark magic

Today I was setting up for an event later in the week where the theme is light and dark fairy.  I chose dark as I have a better selection of goth things than happy fairy things, and while you’ve probably seen most of these items before in various posts, this is a new combination.

If I remember correctly, I purchased this wonderful skin from Lumae for a similar event over a year ago.  The skin comes with these fabulous ears in three sizes that match the skin perfectly.

The dress is Lara fitmesh, and there are Slink versions of it as well.  I’ve posted full details in the blog before.  Once I had the dress, I started searching for other bits and pieces to fill out the look.  The lace bottom of the dress is nice, but I sort of wanted something even more tattered looking.  Surprisingly, a tattoo achieved nearly exactly what I had in mind, and when viewed from a distance, the tattoo seems to blend into the dress.

There are a lot of appliers and HUDs going on behind the scenes here!  I thought I’d show you a screenshot with most of them attached so you can see just how complex this outfit is 🙂  There are HUDs for body and head skins, wing control, my Lara and GA.EG control HUDs, the top, bottom, and feet tattoos, nails, lipstick, eye makeup, and Omega relays OMG 🙂  I haven’t bothered showing the HUD for the hairstyle.   All in all, I think there are 15 HUDs involved!  The list below is going to be long!

Ripper ripped

A little while I showed you the best leather pants I’ve ever seen in SL.  Today, I present the best ripped jeans I’ve ever seen 🙂

These jeans are available at Kustom9 (open until 10th April), and are available in dark blue, light blue (shown), washed blue, gray, and black.  They are L$279 each color, and worth every dollar of it.  The detailing in staggeringly good, with broken strings and tufts sticking out at all the edges.

The jeans are in fitmesh only for Lara, Freya, Isis, and Hourglass.  If you have one of these bods, I highly recommend you scrape the money together and grab them.  They are sure to be one of your go-to jeans forever!

Azul March GG

This pretty little dress is one of three from Azul in March.  The other two gifts are the same dress in different colors.  Perhaps Azul needs a scripter to write them a texture change HUD? 🙂

 

Azul is FREE to join, and there are a number of past group gifts available at the store.

This dress comes in standard mesh sizes, plus fitmesh for Lara, Venus, Isis, Freya, eBody, Fine, Curvy, TMP, Hourglass, Physique, and Ocacin.

Shortly, I’ll be hosting a Best in Tattoos event at Eden.  As I’m running the show, I can’t join the contest, but I certainly can look in theme.  So I went looking for a nice full body tattoo to wear to the event, and this is what I found!

This is a fairly old tattoo and is only L$50 (L$45 if you join the FREE group and buy it in store).  While it’s old, it certainly doesn’t lack in features, with four levels of “fadedness” – super dark, dark, medium, and light.  I’m wearing the medium in these photos.

The pack includes a set of system tattoo layers upper and lower body, and crucially, a set of Omega appliers so you can wear it with your mesh bod!

The artwork is nicely done and all of the seam matching is really good too, with only one minor issue on the inner arms that’s hardly noticeable.  You may notice that silly me forgot to switch on the tattoo layer on my hands before taking these shots, but be assured that the tattoos do extend onto mesh hands and feet that support Omega.

A bit of a shimmery flirt

Ohh I get to share a little happiness from -Pixiecat- today.  I discovered them recently, and just really love the textures and styles that they offer.

Flirty comes as separates (skirt and top) in a variety of different colours.  The Holographic that I picked up features a two-texture HUD with a bluer iridescent texture and a little whiter one.

I need to go back to -Pixiecat- and see what else I can find.  Who’s ready for a little weekend shopping?

Spring 2018

Aeon and I get a lot of pleasure out of redecorating our land every major change of seasons.  As it’s now Spring in SL, we were looking around for something to fit for Spring and Summer this year, and we came across this green house, which we both really loved.

We put it out and started filling it with plants and some furniture and nicknacks, when I realized that somehow we were running out of prims.

We have two adjoining parcels, and somehow I’d forgotten which parcel our main skybox was on 🙂  So I had to pick up the new green house and all its contents, and switch it with the woods that cover our other parcel, so we could even out the prim allocation!  What a pain hehe.

Here’s a view from the deck outside so you can see the woods.

I’m not going to list every object in these pictures, but I will highlight a few.  Firstly, the flag is a proposed design for a Flag of Planet Earth.  Both of us think this is a very cool idea!

Next, let’s look at some close-ups.  The hanging lamps in the foreground are by C-Outlet.

We both dragged out our collection of potted plants, and even with both of our collections, realized we probably didn’t have enough to convincingly fill the space.  So we went and started looking and ended up with a really nice collection from Compulsion.

At the moment, we have a large fountain in the middle of the space, but while Aeon loves her water features, I’d rather there was something like a lounge and coffee table taking up that space, and then we could do away with the beanbags in the photo above.  Perhaps we can get it sorted out soon!  Either a smaller fountain and more plants, or some seating.

Witchwood

So much happiness to share!  Petite Mort and Oubliette have moved to a new sim, Witchwood!  It’s a good opportunity to show you some lovely acquisitions I picked up from Petite Mort, the Royal Starlite sweater and the Burnout Velvet Skirt.

Both the Royal Starlight outfit and the Burnout Velvet skirt are slightly older releases.  They feature fitmesh for both SLink bodies and the Maitreya Lara.  Royal Starlight comes with a lovely little matching skirt, but I really liked how the top goes with the longer Burnout Velvet skirt.

Melora has created quite the beautiful little shopping experience at Witchwood.  There are many little scenes (like this one) that are perfect for taking pictures.  It’s really nicely done, stop by and have a look around.
