LotD – A stellar thank-you gift from Entice

It’s Friday!  Time to unwind from the week with some drinks, a lovely candle-lit dinner, and a night of dancing overlooking the ocean.  This lovely star-spangled cocktail dress is Entice‘s 5000 group member thank-you gift.  The group is free to join, and offers other regular group gift updates.

I’d like to point out the hair, too.  Calico Creations is one of my favourite stylists, and offers a wide variety of colours with every style. Again, kudos to merchants who provide multiple colour/texture options instead of selling each one separately!

LoTD – Bohemian Butterfly

While many of us are moving into autumn, half the globe is happy to be seeing the arrival of spring and warmer temperatures.  Here’s one of my favourite outfits for carefree spring/summer days –  a lovely hankii hem skirt from Hankii Pankii, with a mesh butterfly top from Hilly Haalan.  Both top and skirt come with a variety of textures to choose from, a feature that I particularly enjoy.  Hopefully the days of outrageous prices for each individual texture/fabric are coming to an end in SL!

The mesh top comes in the standard 5 sizes, plus fitted sizes for Slink Physique and Maitreya mesh bodies.  Wow!  Anyone who has gotten frustrated with alphas and mesh bodies will love this!

An opal pendant from Earthstones and barefoot sandals from Blushed completes this carefree look.

A&A Photo Contests

I’m an Alli and Ali fan, no doubt about it 🙂  Their Fire colour is my favourite, can you tell?

Every so often, A&A do a photo contest, generally themed on the seasons.  The 10 best photos selected win a L$2000 gift card to the store.

Last contest, I was honoured to have not one but two photos selected in the top 10, one of me and one of Aeon!  But even more pleasing is that the picture on A&A’s landmark at the moment is of yours truly!

Breast Cancer Awareness month

October is breast cancer awareness month.  The statistics on the disease are frightening, with an estimated case diagnosed every 2 minutes in the United State alone, according to the American Cancer Society.  Current trends are positive though, with the breast cancer death rate down 34% since 1990!

Please, learn how to do a breast self examination, and get a mammogram once a year after you turn 40.  Early detection tests for breast cancer save thousands of lives each year, and many more lives could be saved if even more women and their doctors  took advantage of these tests.

Wear your ribbon in October to help spread the word.

My ribbon was a gift from Chop Zuey last October, and while it doesn’t appear to be available in store at the moment, there are lots of others on the marketplace for FREE, see here, here, and here.
