R2! (No not the Star Wars robot)

Here we mean R2 Fashion, a clothier with a unique style all their own. R2 specializes in sci fi outfits with a definite sexy bent to them and often with a great deal of, shall we say, “transparency”…

R2’s clothes feature slick metallic textures and curve hugging designs. For the Kagura outfit, I added sleeves from Caverna Obscura’s Wistera Wind outfit.

A bonus with Kagura is this adorable electro-bunny light up tail that gently pulses.

The Kachou outfit swirls around the breasts and adds discreet detailing to cover the important bits. As with all of R2’s ensembles, one buys the individual components, usually consisting of at least separate boots, panties, and tops, and the occasional additional parts such as modesty covers.

  • Outfit: Kachou by R2 Fashion
  • Hair: Tanya 1 by Calico
  • Ears: Angelica Headdress by Ayashi (gacha item)
  • Pose: The Lily Series – Four by an lar

In the Baika outfit we can see the almost plastic look that R2 achieves, making full use of material rendering.

And finally, in the Seiga outfit, we see more of the sharply defined futuristic lines combined with some elegant curving sleeves, and the teasing transparency at which R2 excels.

The number of colors for each outfit varies, but is generally anywhere from five to eight colors. Fat packs are also available which may include exclusive colors as well. All of the outfits are for Maitreya Lara only.

While R2 has their own store as linked above, they are also a regular contributor at the Collabor88 event, where the components of the outfits are generally available at a lesser price than when in the normal store inventory.

Time to suit up my sweet friends! Cheers!

On a Wing and a Fae

Let’s have a little fun this time around and I will show you how I really look in Second Life. Yes, I am by nature a faerie and most at home wearing my wings. In fact, this first outfit I will show you is what got me into SL. In RL I do 3D artwork, and one day I saw a promo ad for the beautiful Moonlight Melody outfit by Caverna Obscura. My first thought was “Wow, that is as good as the 3D models I am using! I need to go look at that.” I signed up for Second Life, and it was the first outfit I bought… and here I am six years later. 🙂

Now unlike some of my ‘normal’ clothes ensembles, with my fantasy and faerie outfits I tend to mix and match a lot of things… sometimes even maxing out my attachments… but this is more about sharing the faerie look than the parts and pieces.

So let’s start with said Moonlight Melody outfit, which is still my all time favorite. All of these shots were taken in my private garden, and no surprise it was rather designed with faeries in mind. 🙂

When I am feeling really one with my garden I tend to start sprouting flowers. 🙂 In fact this outfit is mostly just… flowers… but then that is not uncommon with outfits from Boudoir, who specialize in elaborate ensembles that are often a floral riot.

Often times it takes a bit of experimentation to find the right combination of components, but when you finally hit upon it the feeling is happy happy. And even better when it can be worn multiple ways; in this instance I am wearing all the parts of the outfit but depending on mood and circumstance various parts can be removed for a more, um, casual look and feel… This particular outfit also holds special meaning for me, with some very happy shared memories a part of it.

When I am looking for a nice contemplative spot, there is nothing better than my little waterwheel! And here I am fluttering in another wonder from Caverna Obscura, called Wisteria Wind. Caverna does such wonderful fantasy outfits!

Come, take my hand and fly with me to my garden, sweet faeries!

A’a i ka hula!

Happy Aloha Friday, my friends!  I get to share a beautiful new ti pa’u with you, a traditional hula skirt made from ti leaves.  It’s all in mesh from Island Style Designs!  Leave the grass skirts behind, and please please please let’s not talk about the abomination of coconut bras.  (although you may want to see the note on coconut bras at the end of this older post).

  • Island Style Designs — Hula Girl mesh hula outfit (Maitreya/Physique fitmesh/standard 5 rigged mesh sizes) (includes mesh ti skirt, white top, hibiscus haku lei with ferns, kukui necklace, plumeria lei, and hibiscus flowers for your ear — all of the items that you see here except for the kupe’e and kakau, the anklets/bracelets and tattoo!)
  • ::*) Charmed (*:: —  plumeria kupe’e (anklet and bracelet) (from Ti-Leaf skirt, 30cm, Pearl)
  • Juna Artistic TattooHaka tattoo woman
  • BellePoses — Hula Baby 6 (mirror) pose (marketplace link) exclusive for the The Avenue

And yes, I know that the haka is Maori in origin, but the tattoo has many common themes across Polynesia… besides,  like it.

Also, that lovely traditional canoe behind me?  It’s a wa’a kaukahi, a single-hulled canoe with an outrigger.  This lovely one came from Tiki Tattoopurveyor of lovely island decor.  This is a really lovely piece, and was a gift to me from a dear friend.

This is such a lovely hula outfit.  Nickki at Island Style Designs has really outdone herself!  You’ll definitely see me in this at summer dance events.

A’a i ka hula, waiho i ka maka’u i ka hale!  Dare to dance, leave your shame at home!

Aloha kākou, my friends!  A hui hou!

Rising from the Ashes

Sure, Mardi Gras was yesterday, and many Christians observe Ash Wednesday today — but this phoenix arises from the ashes yet!  We had a lovely Mardi Gras event at Eden on Saturday last, and I found this lovely outfit from Champagne! that is at home in any Carnival or Mardi Gras celebration — or even just for your favourite Burlesque show!

The bodysuit is all mesh in standard sizes, but I had no problems wearing it with my Maitreya Lara mesh bod.  The wings are non-animated mesh, and come in two resizable varieties — one with particle flame effects (not shown), and one without.  The phoenix tail has flexi bits that allow the bottom to waft about a little bit.

  • Astlandia — Yey 1M pose

Earthstones adds the perfect jewelry touch with the Phoenix Rising necklace and earring set.  Mahalo, Mama Jaz!

Personally, I’ve had a few events lately that have left me sitting in the ashes, but I had to remind myself — or be reminded — that ashes tell you that there was heat and light…. and that heat and light never completely disappears.  However you make a splash, keep soaring!

Between the Sun and Moon

Silvan Moon Designs brings a lovely new gown combo for the February We Love Role Play!  Daphne of Mistborn is fitmesh for Maitreya Lara and both SLink bodies, and comes in seven lovely colours.

The little vest is a separate mesh piece, and opens up the possibility for a litle mix-and-match if you pick up different colours.

There’s always lovely things at We Love Role Play, and Silvan Moon Designs never disappoints.  Stop by today and explore, you never know what other treasure you might find.

Macabre underpinnings

Everything needs a good underpinnings, a strong foundation… what’s holding you up?  Melora and Oubliette have some lovely Slick Leggings for you at  Suicide Dollz right now!

Oubliette‘s beautiful fitmesh leggings have some amazing texture to them — these aren’t appliers, you can see the little wrinkles and ridges to them!  They’ve also got a nice glossy sheen that comes out very nicely in the photos.  Slick Leggings come in your choice of 10 wonderfully dark textures, as well as a fatpack featuring a bonus texture.

JHC‘s Faunwest boots are cute little ankle boots, but they’re a bit disappointing.  I know, it’s dark enough that you can hardly see them here, and that’s not entirely an accident.  The ad claims that they work with a variety of mesh bodies, but they are NOT fitmesh rigged, they appear to simply be several different copies that have been size-adjusted to be ‘close’ to right.  That’s not bad, but it took a bit more adjustment to get it just right for my own body size/shape.

These are some really lovely leggings, and in enough different textures that you’re sure to find one or two or ten that are just perfect for your sense of the darke.  Stop by Suicide Dollz and take a look!

Hyperborean Chieftan

I make it a point not to re-blog old items, but sometimes you have to.  I first blogged the Snowmoon Silk Road tunic and pants from Spyralle almost two years ago — just a few weeks shy of two years.  Do you want a good laugh?  Go back and take a look at that post!

There’s a good reason to come back to the Silk Road tunic — Kerryth has created Eagle of the Snows, a new headdressb designed to complement Snowmoon, and it’s available only at Genre!

  • Spyralle — Eagle of the Snows Headdress, exclusive for Genre!
  • Spyralle — Silk Road II Tunic (Snow Moon) and Trousers (Midnight)
  • Baby Monkey — Debbi Boot
  • Dragonsfyre — Sky Nation Native American War Lance
  • [Kikay]Lolita Gothic D pose

Eagle of the Snows has a number of wonderful options!  There is a removable mask-like portion (shown attached above, and removed, below).  There is also a texture HUD that allows three different pattern choices for the front and side gems.

The War Lance from Dragonsfyre was just what I needed to complete the ensemble.  It’s very nicely done, my only problem was that while resizeable, the minimum size was too big for a “normal” sized avatar (that is, my height of just under 2 m tall).  No problems, I was able to edit -> edit linked and resize the staff and adjust the feathers just right!

Okay, now for the bad news.  This is the last time for GenreSpyralle has been a part of Genre for a very long time, and Eagle of the Snows is a bit of a good-bye to this wonderful event.

Do stop by, let’s give Genre a good send-off!

Caught in the setting sun

I’m in trouble — or my bank account is.  I’ve found a merchant doing what I’ve been waiting for for ages: combine the beauty of mesh and the motion of flexi in the same skirt!  Nur from ALB Dream Fashion features just this:  a mesh top and base skirt, and flexi skirt add-ons that swish and flow as you dance!  WOW!

I know there’s been some well written posts about the dearth of fitmesh for Belleza bodies lately, and while I don’t have Belleza, I certainly sympathise.  Nur comes with fitmesh for all three Belleza bodies, TMP, both SLink and Maitreya.  Well done!

I think I’m going to have to go back to ALB and spend some more money, there are some beautiful flexi skirts there!

Mahalo!  A hui hou!

for the evening breeze

A moonlit night is the perfect time for a stroll along the water’s edge… and EvelineInTheBox has just the loveliest sexy things for it.

Eveline’s Nandi is perfectly daring for a light breeze in off of the water.  Care to go for a walk with me?

Nandi is an older piece from EvelineInTheBox, and is available in the standard rigged mesh sizes plus a single fitmesh for the standard SL body.  I was able to fit it pretty nicely with my Maitreya Lara‘s alpha zones nevertheless.  Eveline does have mesh-body-fitmesh on newer pieces, and you’ll see some of those from me in the future.

I hope that your Monday is bright and shining!  Aloha!  A hui hou!

Tanned in the summer sun

I don’t usually model different skins, but thought I’d try a little something different for a Friday.  Alaska Metro offers Sunny,  few lovely new face and Fit, a matching skin at the Mesh Body Addicts Fair!  Both come in three skintones, and Sunny has options for no eyebrows, light, medium, and dark shades.  Fit is released as an update to Alaska Metro’s older skin line.  Fit includes Omega, Maitreya and SLink appliers, and nail polish for both natural and french finishes.

Sunny comes in appliers for Omega (head only), Lelutka, and Catwa.  The Omega version is optimised for the new LOGO and LAQ Bento heads, but it works just fine, I think, on my [GA.EG] Barbara Bento head!

  • <K&S> — Candy #2 pose

The Mesh Body Addicts faire has just ended, but look for Sunny and Fit at the Alaska Metro mainstore.

Happy Aloha Friday!  Mahalo,  a hui hou!
