Spirit of Hope

One of the things I’m most happy about in Second Life is that we’re not just a game, we’re not just playing about, we do try to make a difference.  Creations for Parkinson’s has organised a major Hallowe’en event to support the Michael J. Fox Foundation’s Team Fox in support of research of Parkinson’s Disease.  100 per cent of all proceeds from the Gotham Island Event will be donated to Team Fox!

Solas and Bee at Silvan Moon Designs are taking part with two wonderful creations.  Spirit of Hope is an all fitmesh gown and overskirt for SLink Physique and Maitreya Lara.  It is beautiful and simple and elegant.

Spirit‘s overskirt features beautiful pale lavender floral accents that complement the lavender skirting on the gown.  Bee has really outdone herself with the texturing here!

Please visit Gotham Island Event and financially support the fight to end Parkinson’s Disease.  Researchers are making progress, but they need the funding to carry out the work!  We can end this debilitating syndrome!

HorroRomantic Hunt Part 1

The HorroRomance Hunt is on at the moment and runs through the 2nd of November, and over the next few days I’ll be showing you some outfits you can pick up while honing your hunting skills!  The hunt prizes are all L$1, so for very little money you can get some nice outfits (wait… nice? welll we’ll see) for very little money!

This outfit is a combination applier/standard size rigged mesh/sculptie outfit (woo retro), but it does have appliers to let you wear it on a modern mesh body (although it only includes appliers for Belleza and Maitreya.  An Omega applier inclusion would drastically help.  Oh, and the lace top and pasties come on system layers too).  It also comes with a sculptie collar and sleeves (I’ve not worn the sleeves as they don’t work well with Bento hands).

Sunset in Madison

Nooo not Madison Wisconsin, but Madison, the new skirt/top one-piece combo from Petite Mort exclusively at Tres Chic now!

Madison comes in 10 different colour combinations in fitmesh for all three Belleza bodies, both SLink, and Maitreya Lara.

Madison will only be at Tres Chic until October 10, so don’t delay!

I’m showing you a rather old dress today that I rediscovered while I was cleaning up my inventory 🙂  I love purple and this dress deserves to be photographed just because of that!

While I’m wearing this on Lara, it’s just standard sized rigged mesh, and I had to do some photo retouching.  And looking at my photo below, I should have been more careful about where the shadow of my head fell!  Looks like I have tan lines lol

Hello lovelies, today I’m showing you this month’s group gift from BlackRose!

This cute little top and shorts set comes in just this one color, but it comes in a load of sizes, including Freya, Isis, Venus, Hourglass, Physique, Lara, Curvy, Fine, and TMP, plus the five classic sizes.  The fringed top is particularly well done!

And the fit, even without reaching for the alpha section of the Lara HUD, is really good (although you will want to alpha for dancing and such).  A fab group gift from BlackRose, and they are FREE to join!

Fallen goddess

The mist hangs close to your skin, a cool shiver runs down your spine that had nothing to do with the cold.  You look around furtively, and there — framed in the glow of the streetlight, regal and shining in silver and black… one who walks as if she owns these streets…

Okay, I confess — I am NOT a fan of hats in SL.  Even when they’re pretty, they…. just don’t work very well.  But then sometimes the perfect outfit just pops into existence for you.  When I found Silvan Moon Designs‘ new exclusive dress for the Fallen Gods Decennial, I knew that Spyralle‘s Breakfast in Vegas would make quite the statement.

The monsters were out, all right… but she was the one to be wary of.

Is it nearly Halloween?  It must be, people are coming out with spooky themed group gifts!

This little witchy number comes in fitmesh sizes for classic, plus body specific sizes for eBody, Slink Hourglass and Physique, and Lara.  The hat is included, as are the shoes for Slink High as well as unrigged versions.

Prism is FREE to join, and once you do you can pick up this as well as past group gifts at the main store.

Fae of the Fall

After showing the lovely Queen Frani to you previously, I thought I’d share my own outfit for the Sisters of Eden Autumn Queen Dance.  I’ve blogged the base outfit before, but added a bit to create an angel of autumn?  A fall fae?  Can fae have feathered wings?

So, sometimes you get lucky.  Bare Rose created some beautiful bento wings in their “B-Wings“, sold in black and white colours.  Fortunately, they are mod, so I could change the overlay colour.  Be VERY careful, the wings are NO COPY: do NOT try changing the textureONLY change the overcolour.  I played around a little bit until I found what looked just like gold to me.  The texture-enabled wings turned that gold into something shining with a hint of metallic glint.  Just… wow.

Persefona‘s Floating Leaves come in a number of different distributions.  They’re mesh, not particles, so they don’t contribute to the kinds of rendering issues and lag (and annoyance) that particle generators can.  They do attach to the body, so they move somewhat rigidly about you, but depending on your use they look absolutely wonderful.  They worked well for my dances at the party!

It’s always lovely when a creator puts together an amazing outfit… but I really love that feeling of putting together pieces from here and there to create your own individualised look.

Burlesque cutie

Bright lights, a stage, and a hot burlesque outfit!

This outfit was from the Reduex event a little while ago, I only just got around to unpacking it 🙂  It comes in standard sizes plus a one-size-fits-all fitmesh version which works very nicely with Lara.

The dress also has a HUD to let you hide the skirt and slip (which if you do. you’re sure not going to want to do the CanCan afterwards lol).

The Queen of the Fall

Blue mentioned yesterday that the Sisters of Eden held their annual Autumn Queen dance this weekend, and our lovely Frani was chosen as the Autumn Queen!  Congratulations Frani!

Frani layered this beautiful gown from Bella Moda with an applier layer from Paisley Daisy to create her ensemble.  It’s a delightful mixture of sheer with a metallic glimmer, and it suits her well!

We’re so happy to have Queen Frani!  Long may she reign!  Well, until the Winterqueen…. but I’m so happy for autumn!
