LotD – Carries B&W Variety

A lot of Carrie’s Lingerie older items have had Slink Appliers added to them in the last couple of months.  If you own an older outfit (I had Val in black from winning a gift voucher over a year ago), try asking the redelivery terminal to redeliver your purchases to get the updated package with appliers.

Also as a member of Carrie’s group, a group only Midnight Mania board is available to you on the right hand side of the store.  The group is FREE to join.  Yesterday was the Variety set in black and white 🙂

LotD – What I wore for our anniversary party

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary last weekend, and our wonderful sisters at Eden put on a lovely party for us today!  A special thanks to our great friend Dana for DJing the event!

LotD 2015-09-26

I thought I would let you know what I was wearing for a lovely few hours dancing with Aeon and all our guests.  The beautiful champagne colored dress is from Azul, who makes just the most amazing clothes.  My jewelry is from Beloved, one of my favorite designers in SL.  And hair is A&A, also a fav.

In the second picture, Aeon and I are wearing matching bracelets from JCNY and our ring, which was designed and made by my beautiful Aeon!

Blue’s Fantasy Sound in Flight

Bird Box

When I first started exploring SL, I quickly noticed how fixed in place a lot of ambient sounds were.  This sounded very unnatural to me, especially with bird sound.  It’s bad enough that most sim owners use the same set of eight or so full perm audio clips, let alone that the birds don’t move anywhere!

I started thinking about a script to move bird sounds around the sim dynamically, and after a while, a script I call Blue’s Fantasy Sound in Flight was born.  Little did I know it was to be my nemesis for over a month while I struggled with understanding how to rez and keep track of multiple objects in LSL.

The system automatically maps the parcel that it is running on, even if the parcel is spread out over the sim in non-adjoining sections, and then moves a specific number of sound sources around.  You can even support multiple heights with the one script, so if you have a skybox at 2000 metres, you can use the object containing the script you rezzed at ground level to play ambient sounds there too!

The script uses temp rez objects, so only the bird box itself impacts your prim count for only 1 LI.

The script will work right out of the box, or you can modify the example notecards to customize where the sounds are played.

I modeled the bird box that contains the script to fit a Grizzly Creek Cut-Throat Finch, a great little freebie!

Every parcel owner needs one of these 🙂

Moments – and a lifetime – in Love

Sometimes you just need to take a moment.

So pardon me if I get sappy for just a second. 🙂

When Blue and I married, we kept it a private personal event – we cuddled on a lovely ocean overlook, making our promises to each other.

Two days later, when we announced, friends asked if we would be having a party. A dear friend who owned the sim offered again and again to host the wedding. But our promises were ours, and at that moment, we did not want, could not think of a party.

Here we are, a year later, and more in love than ever. Every day is our own little celebration, our own little renewal of promises.

But today? Today we take a moment. Not just us, but a moment to share our joy and happiness with our friends. Mahalo nui loa, all of you – for being a part of our lives.  You mean more to us than I can ever say in words.

To my partner and bride, my wife – no keia la, no keia po, a mau loa… my love to you, forevermore.

Tutorial – Making simple stockings

This is a quick lesson on how to make high stockings with one simple texture upload.

First, let’s create a texture.  I needed black stockings for my outfit so we will create a 256×256 pixel transparent image in The Gimp and bucket fill it with black at 40% opacity:

Create a New Image_006Workspace 1_007

Save this as a PNG file and then pay L$10 to upload it into Second Life.

In an appropriately named folder in your Second Life Inventory, create a new set of pants by right clicking in the folder, and selecting “New Clothes” and then “New Pants”.  A system layer pants object will appear which you can rename “Stockings”, and then wear.

Once you are wearing the pants, you need edit them by right clicking them in your inventory and selecting “Edit”, then click on the “Fabric” window, and add the texture we created above, save, and you are done…

Unless you are wearing Slink High feet like me, in which case you can use the same texture in Slink’s Personal Applier HUD to texture your feet correctly.
